CAUGHT BETWEEN TWO DANGEROUS AND PERSUASIVE LIARS, DETECTIVE EVA ROBERTS MUST NAVIGATE A WAY TO THE TRUTH. BUT A HAZE OF LIES CLOUDS HER JUDGEMENT AT THE WORST POSSIBLE TIME.

Back at the office, the strange investigation inquiries continue to roll in. Mark persuades PI Dan Bradley to take on a neighbourhood dispute case. Bradley believes Mr Ronson is deluded, but Mark insists they help the man. But what starts as a neighbourhood dispute case soon becomes something far, far worse.

Mr Delusional’s case could yet be the darkest they have ever handled.

When Eva needs him most, Dan can't risk walking away.

Eva is left to face the deadliest of enemies alone.

And at the bitter end, she could well lose her life.

Hello folks,
My name is Solomon Carter, and I am the author of the Roberts and Bradley PI crime thriller series, The Last Line international thriller series, the DI Hogarth Darkest series and more. I write mysteries, crime and thriller novels and more besides.

I was born in Southend, Essex and lived there for most of my life apart from eventful student days in South London. But my life in Southend was even more eventful still. I ended up working in a string of jobs including as a jobcentre clerk, a book seller, tutor for youth with low skills and low self esteem, mortgage broker, and latterly manager of a food bank which dealt with all kinds of interesting people facing all kinds of eye-opening, jaw dropping problems. Because of these ear-to-the-ground jobs the majority of my novels are set in Southend. In 2016 I moved to North Cornwall because I liked the idea of never-ending holidays - but I also write almost every single day. My aim is to write action-packed thrillers and page-turning mysteries that readers love and my hope is to get better at what I do with every book across each and every year.

I like to give away lots of free books as part of what I do. If you would like to receive some of these and get the exclusives on offer, than you're invited to join my free readers group at SolomonCarter.net. I won't spam you, just send the occassional email with news on the latest books and forthcoming freebies.

And if you want to see the memes, personal shares and other oddball stuff I do, then you can join me at Facebook via www.facebook.com/solomoncarterwrites and join the fun there too.

What I am good at: telling stories
What I am bad at: dancing, being patient.
What I love: nature, the seaside, adventures
Writers I heartily recommend: Lee Child, Ian Rankin, Henning Mankell, Val McDermid, Harlan Coben, Robert Crais.
Writers I need to read more of: Val McDermid, Ian Rankin, Michael Connelly and others.
Other things I do beside writing: at present I like to keep my running going to balance out the sitting behind a laptop (a habit inspired by Haruki Murakami's 'What I talk about when I talk about running' - a great book).
-I am currently doing surf lessons. When in Rome, as they say...
-Getting out into nature as the weather allows.

I look forward to hearing from you.
Until then I'll keep on writing. Or running. Or surfing. Or chasing my children around the house.

All the very best,
Solomon :)

PS
if you have enjoyed any of my books, I'd be honoured if you could post a review. Those reviews really do help!

Oh man......left us hanging again Mr. Carter😕
More of what you expect from the author, 75% of the questions raised answered, but some left to draw you back for the next series.
And old adversary raises it's head, in cahoots with Dan's proverbial bad penny.
Gotta hope Perry comes a cropper, if not in the next installment, then soon, the snidey, cock sure mare.
And of course, the most important question........
Can the Egomoblie be resurrected, or will Fan be relegated to a Corsa?

Another good book by this author

The story of Dan & Eva goes on. I felt this kept my attention and made me want to keep reading. Two story lines were going all the time plus the romantic escapes of their two helpers Mark and Joanne. This book will keep you guessing Throughout. Needs work on the editing but great story!

Great story as the first two

Love the characters and wrap up of all investigations! I would like someone to proofread them better. Mr. Renton and Mr. Ronson were different people yet they were mixed up in this story

Play With Fire (Between Two Thieves Private Investigator Crime Thriller series Book 3) Some authors tell a story ~ others weave a story ~ yet others braid a story. Mr. Carter has gone beyond to reverse French braid this trilogy! Not only has he brought in the usual Police 'frenemies' (always fun to 'see DI Hogarth outside of his own narrative! Wish he could've made an end-of-book-appearance!), he's managed to intricately entwine new & old characters, plots to drive each book ~ as well as overarching two and three of the books at the same time. Masterful ~ simply Masterful!!! CanNOT wait for more of his writing!

This is book 3 in the Between Two Thieves trilogy. I have read a review saying that the ending of book 2 isn't satisfactory because it doesn't finish the story and makes the reader feel obliged to read the next book. I thought the same when I read book 1 in the Long Time Dying series but soon realised that Solomon Carter's books are in threes, which are all one story. In fact all the books in the Dan and Eva series, like the others he's written are in fact a kind of continuing narrative. Personally, I find I'm addicted, and I'm moving on to the next trilogy. Great reads.

I couldn't read this book quick enough. Exciting and thrilling. I have to say Lauren is the most conniving evil character I've come across in a while. Fantastic writing. Loved every page

Cracking story

I have yet to come across a bad story in these books, I would go as far as to say there has not even been a week storyline in any of the books I have read.
