Bronto Eats Meat

Everyone knows that brontosauruses don't eat meat-or at least they're not supposed to. But one day Bronto gets a terrible stomachache. When the doctor takes an X ray, it shows Bronto's ribs, his stomach, some trees, and... something Bronto will never forget!
With hilarious illustrations and a surprise ending, here is a wacky story that gives new meaning to the phrase "Watch what you eat!"

Y’all are haters this book is solid and a core memory of my childhood. I remember my family found it on accident at the library and loved it. We couldn’t find it again and we searched for it every time we went. This books is amazing

It annoyed me that the author used "Brontosaurus". There is no such thing, moron! It's apatosaurus. APATOSAURUS!!

I read this a long time ago, but it is very memorable as a book too strange and inaccurate to read to children and not funny enough to be satirical.

Ugh. Leave this to extinction, I beg you.

Okay, if I must.... Boy climbs tree, brontosaurus comes along and eats leaves from tree, accidentally ingests boy as well--whole, of course--bronto gets sick. (No anachronisms here.)

Bronto's parents go to dino doctor, who X-rays bronto and finds said boy. Now, how to get boy out? 3 options:
1] vomit him out (lovely illustration there)
2] wait for him to be... um, excreted out (picture
bronto on potty, passing a person)
3] drink lots of soda and belch boy out

Dinos take option three. Never mind that it's... oh, I don't know, IMPOSSIBLE. Nevertheless, bronto drinks, bronto belches, boy erupts from bronto's big mouth and flies across forest, safe at last.

I have no idea the purpose of this book. But it was a serious waste of pressed tree and ink.

I'm really not a fan of this one. For one, it uses the wrong name for the dinosaur--it's an apatosaurus, not brontosaurus. Things like that should be correct in children's books. For another, I just don't think it really works--the story idea is cute, and I suppose that a lot of kids would like the references to burping, pooping, and vomiting, but I just wasn't a fan. Didn't read in my dinosaur story time and can't see myself reading in a story time any time in the future.

A cute, but not especially unique or inspired, story of a brontosaurus who accidentally eats a little boy and has to go to the hospital to burp him out.

Rather bland illustrations.
