The wonderful magic of Fatherhood!

New Hampshire author J.J. Hebert is the founder and owner of MindStir Media LLC, a self-publishing and marketing and mentoring company and is the popular author of children’s books and inspirational and Christian fiction. His story MY DADDY MIGHT BE A WIZARD is accompanied by the illustrations from MindStir Media artists.

Opening with a comment from the little girl of the story shares JJ’s facility with children’s literature: ‘I have a secret to tell you: My Daddy might be a wizard, like the ones from the movies. He does the most amazing, magical things.’ And the ‘magical things’ are those skills such as throwing a ball, lifting the little girl into the air, using the remote to change video channels, talking to Alexa to get things done, reading bedtime stories, providing medicine for sick times, know the right answer to why, hugs – and all those ‘ordinary things’ that make Dads special to children.

This little book s a charmer – for both children and for Dads – one fine token of appreciation that focuses attention on good parenting. Recommended

This fun children’s book by J.J. Hebert takes a creative look at fatherhood and the many things that dads do that might make their kids consider them to be superheroes. Inside, readers will find descriptive sentences that tell of how the main character’s dad might just be a wizard, such as how he can throw balls fast and help them find videos online quickly. The character looks closely at each of his actions to try to convince the reader that her father is, in fact, a wizard.

Each prompt in the story also features a stunning illustration to help better describe what is being said. This makes it perfect for young readers who are starting their literary journey. It also is ideal for fathers who might want to find a unique way to bond with their children. The book runs at 24 pages making it a somewhat quick read but one that is worth the time investment.

A really cute children’s story. My daughter loves it.

This is a really cute story told from their viewpoint of a little girl talking about her daddy and all the “magic” things he does for her from changing the channel with his “magic” wand, to making her feel better with his “magic” potion, “magically” making boxes appear at the front door, and how he makes her feel special with his “magic” hugs. My 3 year old loves the pictures and loves comparing her daddy to the things that the daddy in the book does. This has become one of her favorite bedtime stories since I picked it for her. As an adult I appreciate that the illustrations are well done and bright, to keep the child’s attention and the story is short and perfectly written in a style that makes it so easy to read to my daughter and will be easy for her to read by herself in the future.

Oh, my kids loved this one! They really were entranced by the story and the illustrations. This book, “I think my Daddy is a Wizard”, is told from the viewpoint from the daughter and she tells the reader about her father, who she suspects might be a wizard. She recounts all the wonderful and amazing things he can do, like change channels, get boxes of surprises delivered to their front door, or give her potions (medicine) that will cure her of her sickness. I read these to my kids and my 5-year-old really loved it. My 7-year-old liked it a little, but it may be a bit young for her, only the 5-year-old and my 3-year-old asked for me to read the story multiple times. I think that the author has a good book here and other books might be a good thing to check out if you have young children.

Sweet and Short

Aimed at toddler and preschool aged children. This is a cute, modern book about how a little kid looks at her father like a hero. So many books fail to focus on the father-child relationship or are so stereotypical that they lack are annoying . It is nice to see a sweet book that focuses on all the amazing, often seemingly commonplace, things that dads of all sorts might do, like use a magical wand (remote) to help change channels. I would have loved to see automatic car windows on here too.
