Since I was a child I shared a great interest in riddles, mystery and the abnormal. I loved the thrill of having my mind puzzled and astonished by an enigma. This is why today I am writing books for people who share my enthusiasm for scary and mystifying cliffhangers. If you enjoy horror mystery, you will love my stories.

A fine collection of three supernatural stories. In 'Night Visitors' a young woman is regularly abducted by aliens. A new race should be bred with her help (okay, the subject is a bit trite but the writing was spotless). In Agatha you meet a special kind of a fire child (interesting ideas and new twist to witches). With 'Grandpa Jesse' you get a very eerie story presenting the ghost of a grandfather haunting his former home. All in all a well made set of stories. Recommended!

Entertaining horror listening 🎶🔰

Three will written haunting horror ghost 👻 adventure thriller short stories. Each story is different with interesting well developed characters lots of action and misdirection leading to each conclusion. I would recommend this series and author to 👍 readers looking for a quick free read. 2023 👒😀😡🏡

Short and Sweet!

Just tried a new series. The book has three different stories. The third story is kind of like a cliffhanger. All three stories are very good, but the ending guarantees that you will be buying the next book in this series.

Well this was short and not so sweet lol. The story was good but I don't like the way it just ended I feel the author could have found a better point to cut it off from. The idea and story line are good and the author really knows how to build suspense.

A wide-ranging and eclectic short story collection, from scientific horror [very sensory and accords with non-fiction accounts] presenting a terrifying Denouement, to pure ghost horror involving character devolution and implacable rage [thanks for those nightmares], with an author whose subconscious must fuel his imagination. I am still having shivers over "Grandpa Jesse" and now worrying over my deceased kin.

The first short story, 'Night Visitors' is truly chilling - especially right at the end. It is the stuff of horrific abduction documentaries. My favourite was 'Agatha' and her flame-coloured hair. I do love a female protagonist with special powers, but these are not the kind of powers anyone would want. I particularly liked the grandmother setting/plotline. 'The Mask' lasted for nine chapters, I realise there are no rules, but my little reading brain was already in short story mode by then, and so I was expecting the ending before the ending! Good story though. Mr Spaulding's haunted house ties the collection up nicely, or should I say creepily?

I want to say thank you to Tom Coleman for giving me a copy of his book "Horrors Next Door". I enjoyed all of the short stories and it was a very quick read at only 49 pages.

The stories were just the perfect amount of creepy and not overly scary. There are three stories in total and each one was very different from the other. They offer creatures, paranormal activity, and strange specters.

The book kept me in suspense from start finish and I look forward to reading his next installment.

There are definitely elements of horror in this collection of short stories and they have great potential. Horrors Next Door needs a proofreader and an editor to tighten it up and correct multiple grammatical errors. I especially liked the last story but ,as a warning, there is a major cliffhanger at the close.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this ebook from the author and this is my honest and freely given opinion.

I read the Horrors Next Door and was lucky enough to get all five books. They are a collections of short horror stories. I liked that the stories weren't too short. I generally like full-length stories/novels where there is more character and story development. I was surprised with these. There were a few stories that didn't catch me but otherwise most of the stories were great with the right amount of creepiness. There were alot of different types of stories as well so if you don't really like one, keep reading!

Night Visitors - such an eerie concept and I thought it was gruesome. This story encouraged me to keep reading and I was left horrified and fearful at the end!

Agatha - A good short story that kept me interested. A predictable ending but still enjoyable.

The third one I can't even remember the name and I just finished, but I didn't read it all. A lot of spelling errors and a weird duality of two characters that wasn't split out very well and was confusing.

The haunted house was good but didn't make a lot of sense. I felt confused and deflated at the end.

Three Great Stories (And A Preview)

The first tale addresses alien abduction and the second about Jinn, creatures from Islamic legend that are born from the element of fire. The last story, more of a novella, is about an ancient mask that destroys those who touch it except for the individual the mask has chosen. And heaven help the person it chooses.

The book closes with a preview of a very weird neighbor who owns a very odd house with a frightening basement.

I hope to read more of the latter and I hope The Mask is someday continued in future works.

Every single story was entertaining and pretty well written. There was good characters development and each story had a unique twist. I highly recommend it and greatly enjoyed it. My fave had to have been Agatha as it reminds me of Carrie and Firestarter by Stephen King. I also really enjoyed the final story and will be reading the second collection so I can find out if her bestie finds out what happened to Sarah. Great read.

this book is not really one of my favourites but once I started reading something happened and it sort of just sucked me in, and I ended up liking it. I thought it was going to be really scary but it wasn't as bad as I thought. I guess you really can't judge a book by it's cover. If the others in this group are the same I think I will probably read them also. Trying to broaden my reading world.

The 3 stories were OK.

Agatha was the only really decent one.

Mask drove me nuts, the story kept jumping from one character to the next mid chapter, I feel there was no reason to do this. It also just stops dead on a cliffhanger

The house next door was going ok until the main character said "then let out a breath i didn't know I was holding" Why put that in, its unnecessary but saying that i do want to read the continuation in the next book.

Scary Stories

The stories were very good and for a horror book I found the collections stimulating. I wanted to finish the stories to find out what happened.
This is my first book by this author but I like his writing and will buy the next book.
The book is prefect for reading alone and for those that like horror stories.

I'm a bit confused. The book seemed to start off like a high school kid telling a story around a campfire. No real depth or substance. Yet later in the book, there was a lot more depth. I'm wondering if there was an element of self-indulgence, including stories that were OK but not really good, to help fill the pages. There was enough substance to keep me reading to the end.

I really liked this book, the stories are just how I like it, short and sweet. Right from the first page to the last was really good. And now, I have to get the other books cos I hate cliffhangers lol. I really want to find out what happened to Jessica. Nice one Coleman, what a nice strategy to get people to buy the rest of the books lol.

Even though these are short stories they still manage to pack a powerful punch. There is enough chills in these few pages to keep you up at night, so I do not recommend reading before going to bed. Even though I finished reading them all a while ago; they have still remained with me and still left me with chills. I am now committed to reading all of the Horrors Next Door and probably having some sleepless nights, thanks Tom Coleman!!

I really love short horror stories. I was even happy to have finished the last stories of Mr. Spaulding. How insane that story was. It drove me crazy, I'll admit when it came to an abrupt stop and had to read the others which were still great, but I was glad to find out what caused him to become this psycho. Awesome read!

I really liked this collection of three short stories. The storytelling was solidly creative, the horror action packed and cleverly creeping. From alien abduction to elemental witchcraft, right the way through the haunted artefacts of Mexico, there’s a lot of imagination in this collection, and I’ll look out for this author in future.

Each individual story was a fun read although the horror wasn’t really there. The premise of each story was horror themed but other than that the language used wasn’t scary/ gory at least for me anyway.

Nevertheless I did thoroughly enjoy each story and would recommend this book.

Not much else to say!

So very disappointing....

These were the worst attempts at writing a story I have ever tried to read. No plots, no character development, and no end! They just stop. Nothing is resolved, nothing to be afraid of..don’t know where the ‘horror’ figures in. Don’t waste your time!!

Loved it! Three quick reads.

Three horror shorts. Each one different than the other. The first one, was good. The other two were better. One about a lady, who makes fire. The third one, about a serial killer no one expects.

Decent

Worth reading through once. The stories are not scary, for the most part but can certainly get the reader to thinking. Enjoyable. The wording seemed oddly done and made it difficult to read at times.
