“Nothing can wait like an untold secret. And, it’s possible that the secrets themselves know the most terrible secret… that just because you are invisible doesn’t mean that you’re not there. It doesn’t mean that someone can’t by sheer coincidence, stumble upon you. And, with each year that passes, they grow just a little bit bigger. Just a little bit deadlier. And, still, they wait.” – Molly Stevenson, Amelda Tartan Contest EntryAmelda Tartan is coming to town. Never before has the little town of Springgate hosted such a celebrated author, and, in honor of her coming, a book contest has been announced. Molly and Natalie are in hot competition to write a mystery worthy of the skills of Amelda Tartan, when Molly gets the regrettable curse of…writer’s block. No one ever told Molly about the dangers of writing. Words have power, and to her horror and dismay, her (self-admittedly) brilliant opening paragraph detailing the lives of secrets creates a monster that no one can control. Because, now… Molly sees secrets everywhere… Carolyn. Ryan. Natalie. Even Mrs. Goldmyer. Is it possible that Mrs. Goldmyer, the ultimate knitpicker, has been hiding a deep and terrible secret for years and years? Is it possible that Mrs. Goldmyer is an… axe murderer? What started as a humorous hypothesis, soon becomes all too frighteningly real. Deadly real. Because, somehow, Molly has stumbled upon an invisible secret with feet sunk deep in the past and rotten, gnarled fingers firmly gripping the present. Some secrets, it seems, should stay buried.
This was the third and last book in this series. I enjoyed it very much. The characters were very developed and some were surprising as the plot unfolded.

Even Mrs. Well, get these books! I have enjoyed this series immensely. The first book had me giggling along with Molly (the main character). And each introduction is natural and fun. There is such a great flow, even how knitter feel about their projects are right on the mark. The books can be stand alone, but why when they are such great reads and are over before you are ready for them to be. By the end you feel as if you have made friends with the characters, and if you pay attention , you also can have a free knitting pattern! How much better can it get?? Great Books and Knitting? Highly recommended
This is the most convoluted story I've ever enjoyed reading! A book for a writing assignment leads to a cold case. There's a murder that isn't, attempted murder, blackmail that isn't, attempted murder, he loves me, he loves me not, blackmail, reverse blackmail, attempted murder, secrets galore... Whew! There's also lovable characters (if a bit ditsy), strong bonds, and acceptance. I look forward to more in this series.
I’m a knitter and I love mysteries so this was a cute series. But the style is very casual and almost silly, with lots of thoughts in parentheses, which is unusual in a book. I feel the explanations of the main points in the story get very convoluted and not clearly explained. And each book had grammatical/ typos which I never understand… isn’t there an editor that is supposed to clear those? Anyways, it was a cute series.
Jaime has done it again, bringing together mystery and knitting in a story that keeps you guessing. It is like a wonderful mystery KAL where you knit along not sure of the pattern until each step is reveled, except the mystery is in words. Thank you Jaime for a wonderful mystery.
Another fun book in the series. Is someone out to get Molly? So many weird things are happening in this little town. Even Abraham Lincoln (the dog) is upset. Will it ever be found out? Secrets have a way of coming out. I really enjoyed this series. I do hope the author continues this series and let's us know what happens at Natalie's and Jack's wedding.
Yarn, Yarn shop, Murder mystery, and Romance all rolled together in one book. Throw in a strong, independent protagonist, lots of yarn, and everyone's secrets, and you have a book that keeps you up reading well past bed time!
I have not found any of the codes in her books - I have been too wrapped up in the plots to look for them! I enjoyed them more than some of the other knitting/crafting based stories
