Ivy Morgan was convinced she was heading toward a smooth future … until she was arrested and charged with criminal trespass. Sure, she was saving a woman from certain death at the time, but in order for the criminal case to hold up against a murderer, she has to face the music. Fear is the one thing Ivy hates more than anything else, so in order to make herself feel better, she decides to fix her Aunt Felicity’s love life. That includes tracking down an old love … who just so happens to have set up shop one town over. While visiting, Ivy is horrified when a battered woman straggles through the door and is immediately shot dead by a masked man. Traumatized, horrified, she calls her fiancé Detective Jack Harker for help. By the time he arrives, though, things are already spiraling out of control. Ivy was always a good girl – although sometimes with a bad attitude – but now she’s a murder suspect thanks to some overzealous police officers … and a criminal record that’s fresh in the minds of everyone concerned. Jack is determined to protect Ivy, but there’s only so much he can do. That means he needs to work with her to solve the crime. Otherwise, it could haunt them for the rest of their lives. Who would be so brutal, though? That’s the question of the day. A dangerous game of cat and mouse is afoot, and it’s going to take both Jack and Ivy working together to figure it out.
Now that was an extra thrilling Ivy and Jack story, talk about a heart-stopping ending. I love how strong Ivy and Jack are as a couple no matter what life throws at them they are stronger together, I also love how Ivy's family add to that strength and it was sweet to see Aunt Felicity and her old beau reunited.
The mystery was a really good one with great twists and turns I can't wait for more.
This is an exceptionally entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Ivy Morgan is a witch who is growing into her powers more and more every day. She is engaged to be married to Jack Parker a police detective in their small town. Ivy is trying to seek out an old friend of her aunts to reconnecting. When an incident occurs in the adventure begins. Read on and see what happens is time in Ivy’s world of intriguing mystery.
Oh I really enjoyed this one! Up until the last few chapters I thought Archibald was the killer, but then that seemed too obvious and I figured out that Halsey was probably the actual killer. I need more magic! But I do like Susan and her communicating with Jack. Onto book 17, Wicked Games.

Ivy's back and she's got two things on her mind.. Orange is the New Black and Aunt Felicity!
Unfortunately while she might have saved Maisie's life she did break into the building to do it and the law being an ass she's got to pay for the crime! With 40 hours of community service to do and a criminal record on file she's not enjoying life right now despite the wedding being weeks away.
Distracting herself from her own woes she decides to get Jack to track down Aunt Felicity's old beau Dorian Lanning, when it turns out he's returned from the city and now resides one town over in Bellaire she can't help herself but to head over and find out why he's not made contact.
As they chat in his business premises a bedraggled woman rushes in begs for help only to be shot by the next man through the door who then flees.
Ivy manages to hold it together and the victim is rushed to hospital still alive but the detectives see Ivy as a suspect rather than a helpful citizen because of her record. When she can't identify the masked shooter problems with the Bellaire detectives only seem to get worse creating a whole new level of worry for Jack.
Ivy is getting ready to pick up some trash on the side of the road. The result of getting arrested in the last book. She tresspassed and broke into a shed in order to save someone. So she is freaking out that people will look down on Jack, since now hes going to be marrying a convicted criminal.. To keep her mind off trash duty she has decided to track down an ex of her aunts.. When she finds him, about an hour away from Shadow Lake. He recognizes her, and before they can have a good talk, a woman runs into his shop, ask for help.. a man in a mask walks in behind her calmly shoots her in the back and walks away. Afte the paramedics and police are called, one of the police officers accuses Ivy of lying, and basically being involved in the murder.. He starts turning up all over, and harrassing her.. Turns out their is something bigger in play.. This myster was really good I really had no idea what was really going on till almost the very end. Looking forward for the next book to be released soon
In this book Ivy discovers the whereabouts of Dorian, Aunt Felicity's long lost love that we learnt about in the previous book. Ivy goes to see him and lo and behold witnesses a woman stumble into the shop and get shot by a masked man. Jack doesn't have jurisdiction in this crime and cannot investigate but ivy being ivy cannot leave it alone and decides to investigate on her own. One of the police officers investigating the shooting has his eyes set on Ivy. He feels she is suspect in the crime. Jack and Ivy are as mushy as always. I love their relationship. Ivy is worried alot in this book and has to be reassured. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Fabulous as usual!!!!
I love Jack and Ivy. Ivy is dealing with the events from the last book, and while on an outing to check out Felicity's ex boyfriend she witnesses a shooting and is immediately embroiled in another adventure and mystery. This isn't Jack and Brian's case though so more trouble ensues.
Susan makes a couple of ghostly appearances to help Ivy. Her family has extra small to small scenes.
Very entertaining, no language but some non graphic violence and non graphic sexual situations. Looking forward to the next book. Recommended series as I recommend all of Lily Harper Hart books and her books under Amanda M Lee.
Ivy learns that Felicity's old love Dorian has returned and set up shop in the nearby town of Bellaire. So of course she visits him.
While she is there, a terrified young woman stumbles in, and is shot in the back by a masked man, who then escapes.
The Bellaire cops consider Ivy a suspect, even though she saved the woman's life. One cop in particular has a creepy fixation on Ivy, and Jack is not happy about it.
Ivy can't keep her nose out of the investgation, even though it's not Jack and Brian's jurisdiction. This puts her life in danger, because the situation is really not what it seems.
As always LLH never disappoints! This book had a few surprising twist. I thought I had it figured out. Turns out I didn't. Well written. I love how Jack and Ivy are always trying to protect each other. Looking forward to their wedding in the next book. I always hate finishing a LLH book, because I hate having to wait for the next book.😪. Thankfully LLH never makes us wait for very long.😍
You want to know why I am not tired of the series even after 16 books? Because the mysteries are very good. The characters are pretty much fully developed. It is the great story that keeps the series alive for me. And this one was really good, gruesome even. But when the detective on the case goes after the witness, who happens to be Ivy, well, something is not right. It will take them all to figure it out.
Mostly I was excited to see what happens next for Ivy and Jack, but I have to admire Gary's ability to get one of them into a scip-to -the -next -scene -to -make -sure -they're -OK situation, but have the other one in enough of a crisis of their own that I could forget that and just keep reading. I do wish these plots could be driven without murders, the trouble magnet thing has been stretched too far.
I really liked this one, it definitely kept me guessing throughout. I cannot wait for the wedding but am glad we are getting a glimpse of all the fun before that happens. I hope that Felicity's story gets a little deeper in the next installment because it just scratched the surface of a long lost love. All in all great job!
I love Ivy and Jack they are growing as a couple. Ivy has always wanted for everyone to be as happy as she is with Jack, finding her aunts long lost love is just something Ivy feels she has to do. Well until a girl gets shot, then we all know what happens. Can't wait until the wedding.👰👮💒💍🌹
I love this author and this series! This series is one of my favorites and this latest installment is no exception. If you enjoy your cozy mysteries with a side of snark, a helping of romance, and bad guys you’ll love to hate, this series and author are for you! I definitely suggest reading the books in order.
Another great installment in the Ivy Morgan Mystery series! The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat and the banter between characters kept me entertained and laughing. Thanks for reminding time and time again why this is one of my favorite authors!
Jack and Ivy have another run in with another murderer when she goes poking her nose into her aunts past. This time she’s a suspect in someone else’s jurisdiction and Jack can’t save the day. Can they figure out the who before the end? Amazing series! Awesome read! Enjoy!!!
Another great story. Ivy is in a neiboring city when she witnessed a woman being, shot in the back, by a guy in a ski mask. She is being harrassed by a detective from that city and refuses to stay out of the investigation, as usual. But since it is out of Jack's jurisdiction, it is also causing him a lot of grief. We do get to catch of with Felicity and meet Dorian!
Ivy's always entertaining (even when she's an irrational brat), and Jack handles her shenanigans so well. I enjoy their relationship, the family dynamics, the skillfully drawn mystery with steadily increasing tension to the climax, the use of the paranormal, and the satisfying ending. What a fine read!
This was another winner. I love this Author as she writes wonderful mysteries with great characters and great love stories. Her storylines are fantastic. She has a great imagination. I highly recommend all her books and different series. I have read over 50 of her books and loved every one. Diana Romano
Interesting story this go round. There is more Jack involvement in this one. Jack can hear and sometimes see Susan which adds a curve to the story. Thought I had the killer pegged until the twist at the end. Ivy is trying to help Aunt Felicity get together with an old flame so hopefully that will work out for her. Could not put it down until I finished reading it.
This is a fun book. This series is one that I thought I would get bored with after a book or four. I'm not very good at reading long series one book after another. But I find this is totally different. I would say that Lily Harper Hart is a very good writer in fact I put her right there with a few other writers. J.D. ROBB, ELIZABETH MOON, DAVID EDDINGS just to name a few.
This is another good installment in the Ivy and Jack storyline. The characters are well developed and the conversations flow naturally. The plot and subplots move quickly, making it hard to put the book down. Can't wait for their next adventure.
Very entertaining visit with Ivy, Jack and the gang. Excellent storyline and good side stories right along with everything else. The end is a surprise I hadn't thought of!
Jack and Ivy are one of my favorite couples written by Lily Harper Hart! Always looking out for each other but still so much in love! I can't wait for the wedding!
I highly recommend this series to readers who love magical romance mysteries. The endearing and fascinating characters and the intriguing plots are very entertaining. Enjoy!
Ivy witnesses a murder in another town and the investigating cop is convinced she was in on it. He's willing to do whatever it takes for an easy solve and Ivy and Jack are in his crosshairs.
Again this Author delivers! This book had a great different feel to it. I enjoy that the heroine is always so strong but it was nice in this book to see Ivy's vulnerable side. I can not wait for the next book!
Another great story about Ivy. I enjoy the great mysteries but wish she would keep working on developing her powers so she can defend herself when she is threatened instead of "waiting for the cavalry" to show up. Can't wait for #17!
