One Question, Fifty Companies, Eight Practical Answers. What does it look like when a follower of Jesus runs a business? It’s a question we’re asking more than ever before, from the front lines of business to the front page of the newspaper to the front row of the classroom. But our answers tend to be incomplete—personal anecdotes, media narratives, or simply revisiting the usual suspects. Christian-Owned Companies, the stories of 50 for-profit businesses, is the most thorough investigation of the question to date, uncovering eight practical answers. For business leaders, it’s a road map. For academics, it’s a theory. For students, it’s a curriculum. And for a confused culture, it’s a corrective to the stereotypes of the left and the right. Join Professor Zigarelli for an in-depth look at what Christian-owned companies really do and how they do it.
Lowkey a good book. I read it for school, but it was really interesting to read about businesses that I have and haven't heard of before and how the owners used their companies to bring glory to God.
Ilustra perfectamente que es posible liderar una empresa exitosa anclada en la fe cristiana. Testimonios de 50 empresas de diversos giros me dan la esperanza de que algún día veré lo que en mi experiencia no he visto aún en Guatemala.
It explores certain ideologies of how Christian businesses are managed. One thought that i got out of the book would be the debate of whether it is better to pay a higher wage than most would to the employees or have more job openings and pay as many people as fairly as they could.
I own a company and have been around other owners for years now who are all trying to run our businesses for God's glory. After all, they're his anyway. I found this book to be an excellent and refreshing easy read. The greatest part about the group of Christian business owners I am associated with is that it removes aloneness. This book does sort of, the same thing. There is much we as Christian business leaders can do. Here, Zigarelli gives many examples showing that it can and probably will look a little different in any business.
