Welcome to Roselock, where the ground bleeds, and the night screams.

After the senseless murder of her fiancé, Iona Faye can’t move on. There was no happily ever after, and no goodbye. Desperate for closure, she goes to see Roselock’s one and only reclusive inhabitant.

Sully Whitmore has lived a life of seclusion, with one hand on the gate to the other side, and a family curse binding him to the town his ancestors founded. When Iona demands he speak to Jack for her one last time, he knows something is wrong. She paints a picture of love and devotion, but Sully sees something else: a story of possession. A story of lies. A story of two faces.

But it’s too late now. Sully has opened the gate. And he will help Iona find the truth about Jack, if it’s the last thing he does.

Wow... seriously?! What the.... did I just read? Hands down to Keary Taylor for her creativity! WOW... I honestly am not sure how to rate this book. But, my goodness I have never in my life read a book like this.... like EVER haha.

Is this a love story do you ask?! This is one demented and heart wrenching love story. There are NO happy endings in this book. Be PREPARED to have your heart and gut pulled on multiple times in this story.

I sat on this for awhile this evening because I couldn't come to terms with my overall thoughts. This is probably the hardest review I've ever had to write on a book. I could not put this down.. I devoured it in a day and a half. This is a weird one folks I tell you... but in a good way ;).

Iona Faye shows up on Sully's doorstep in the town of Roselock. Roselock is a creepy and old town that has a sinister and dark history. Loved the atmosphere of this town! Sully has a unique gift of being able to bridge the gap between the living and the dead.

Iona Faye's fiance Jake has been murdered and she is desperately seeking answers to understand what happened to her love. Sully, cautiously at first starts to talk to Jack on the other side to help Iona find answers about her fiance's muder. Sully starts to notice that something isn't quite right between Iona and Jack's interactions...... Sully has this gut wrenching feeling that Jack has some sort of hold on Iona.

Three Heart Echo is a dark story about obsession, horror, love, and dysfunction to a CORE. My god... I am not going to ever forget this book. I am a very spiritual person, so I was drawn to the paranormal aspect of this one and am glad I took a chance on reading this one. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for something fresh and different!

I couldn't give it 5 stars because I felt empty and sad after reading this... but I think that was the author's point.. idk. I want more people to read this so I can chat with you!! lol.

Thank you to Netgalley and Keary Taylor for an arc :)

Seriously!?!? I mean seriously! What did I just read??????

This book gets major props for being very original and creative. This book sat on my currently reading list for quite some time. Why???? Well since you asked, because it was weird. Initially I couldn't figure out what I thought of this strange creepily atmospheric book. But then I decided to give it the old college try. The result, once I got past my initial reaction to this book, I could not put it down! This is a strange one folks - but strange in a really good creepy atmospheric way!

Speaking of atmosphere, I thought this was a nice touch. Roselock is a town with a dark history. The ghosts of the town come out at night to re-play the past evils of the town. The atmosphere is creepy and haunting. Thus, making the atmosphere a character in this book as well...the reason if you will that you do not leave the church at night.... but enough about that.

"Sully's gift is also my demise."

Iona Faye's fiancé, Jack, has been murdered. She comes to a man living in a Church in Roselock by the name of Sully. Sully acts as a conduit between the living and the dead. His family has a long history in Roselock and Sully himself has a cursed life. All the men in his family die when they are 33 years, 3 months and 3 days old. Sully has just turned 33 years old and time is running out for him. Iona is having a hard time dealing with her fiancé’s death. She wishes to speak to him one last time.

Sully notices that something is not quite right between Iona and Jack's interactions. Even though he is dead, Jack seems to have some influence over Iona. Speaking of Iona, her family is concerned about her. She is wasting away before their eyes and she has distanced herself from them prior to Jack's Murder. Sully also notices that Iona is not eating well and appears to be weak. Just what the heck is going on?????

The book's blurb tells us that this is not a love story. That it is a story of possession. That it is but how and in what way?

I wont say much more about the plot but that there is definitely more going on than meets the eye. There are revelations and dark secrets which are revealed. People are not always as they seem or as they present themselves to be.

Initially I gave this book 3.5 stars but moved the rating up to a 4 as it was original and creative. I loved the use of atmosphere and I also loved the title which I initially thought was strange but as I read it became clear. Both characters are dealing with echoes of the past and there is significance as to the number 3.

This book was creative all the way around. I am glad I kept with it as it was a pleasant surprise. This book has a little bit of everything: ghosts, death, lies, deceit, attraction, love, etc. Was I shocked by the ending? Yes and no. One thing did not come by surprise, but one did. So, kudos to the Author for that surprise. I found this book to be very well thought out and original. It is the perfect book to read in the fall when the nights seem long and you are looking for something different!

I received a copy of this book from Keary Taylor and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

When Iona shows up on Sully's doorstep he is immediately on guard as he's no stranger to the reporters that are like vultures circling him looking for their big story. Iona is there however because she's heard that Sully can contact the dead and she's desperate to speak to her fiancee again after his life was shortened by a murderer without any logical reason behind the attack. Iona believes she won't be able to move on from the loss and is desperate for Sully's help.

Sully is a bit hesitant to open the gate between dimensions yet again. He's gotten used to his own fate which has his death looming ever closer and being in contact with those he has lost is a daily occurrence for Sully but there's just something about Iona that isn't right. After Sully breaks down and contacts Jack for Iona however he begins to see that Jack has some sort of hold over her even after death and Sully makes it his mission to help her break free.

Three Heart Echo by Keary Taylor is one of those books that I saw the cover on this one and just kept coming back to it wanting to see what the story held inside. Thankfully this turned out to be another that my cover obsession turned into picking out a really engaging and compelling read that I ended up devouring even though I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into.

The story in here is sort of a paranormal suspense read mixed with a twinge of horror. Iona was the perfect grieving widow wanting to hang onto the love she knew and didn't want to continue living without. But once that dark side of the afterlife is brought in the reader learns that there was so much more to Iona's love of her life that just had me on the edge of my seat waiting to find the answers. In the end this one was definitely an eerie and creepy read from start to finish that I'd recommend checking out.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Original review:
I didn't want to write this review. Still don't. Not because this book doesn't deserve one, but because I feel like my amateurish words can't really do it justice.

This book was spectacular. An eclectic mix of mystery, ghost story, criminal investigation, romance, psychological thriller and paranormal suspense, and a uniquely fleshed out plot about two lost souls finding unexpected solace in one another while fighting for their lives.

When Iona's fiancé Jack is murdered right before her eyes, she isn't able to cope. She can't eat, can't sleep, can't stop grieving for the lost love of her life. In order to find some semblance of closure, she seeks out Sully, a recluse who's said to have the ability to contact ghosts. Sully, haunted by his very own deadly curse, doesn't like the attention his gift brings with it. When he reluctantly agrees to let Iona speak to her lost soul mate, he instantly feels that something isn't right - he just can't put a finger on it. As Iona's condition keeps worsening, they realize that Sully isn't the only one running out of time, and that he might have just unknowingly sealed her fate.

What a creepy, addicting, unique story! I can safely say that I have never read anything remotely like this. This book will fuck with your head, make you question everything and long for answers right along with the protagonists. Full of surprises, mystery and tragedy.
I binge read this within a couple of hours yesterday, and I could kick myself for not picking it up way earlier.

Do heed the author's warning, though: There will be no happy endings.

Three Heart Echo is a story about obsession so insidious it reaches through the afterlife. Paranormal romance it is not. 3HE stands on it’s own, a unique and suspenseful tale, an heart-aching love story at it’s core.

Keary’s writing is darkly sumptuous. The way the crumbs of the story were laid out drew me in deeper and deeper so expertly, until I was so tangled in the story that I could barely blink in fear that I'd miss a single exquisitely tortured word. And the ending was absolutely perfect, a maelstrom of bittersweet inevitability.

Even if you don’t usually read paranormal. Read. This. Book. It transcends genre. Transcends troupes. It’s simply a wonderful novel.

This. This is not a love story. This is a possession story. A story of lies. A story of two faces. This is a story of death and violent echoes from the other side.
And there will be no happy endings.

Welcome to Roselock, where the ground bleeds, and the night screams.

Isn't it great when an author is so talented it only takes two characters to carry on a book???

#PenguinOnATBRMission: book #24

this hashtag is something I self-indulgently created for fun when I decided to thin out my immense tbr list as a new years resolution starting from books I added on GR back in 2017/2018/2019, and since I can't seem to do anything quietly and I'm well known for being an overachiever, I had to go and turn it into an official thing. Feel free to check out the shelf with the same name if you don't mind keeping up with this insanely over-hyped adventure I got myself into. Take it as a chance to rediscover some books from a few years ago that might have accidentally flown under your radar, or to simply share with another fellow reader your very own reading experience. Happy reading and stay penguin-y!

I admit it, I’m a readaholic and proud of it. Having said that, I have never read a book quite like this one! I actually finished it a few days ago but delayed writing my review to give myself more time to come to terms with all that happens in it. Yes, there are aspects of romance, mystery, horror, suspense and paranormal in it but they are crafted together into a unique, very readable masterpiece that really doesn’t fit into any lone genre other than its own. It is a real page turner that had me enthralled from beginning to end. It starts as a love story, moving on to become an intriguing murder mystery entangled with ghostly communications, a search for the truth, historic events and further tragedy. Every time I thought I knew what would happen next, the author threw in another curve ball! As the blurb says, in this story ‘there will be no happy endings’. This is definitely one to add to the top of your tbr pile IMHO and it is one that I’ll be rereading in future.

I requested and was given a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.

HOLY SHIT!! I have chills all over my body after finishing this book. Keary has definitely upped her game with this book. This is why I love reading books like this - they are unique, different and leave me thinking about them for days.

"I am the keeper of the dead. The reacher beyond the veil."

As the blurb states, there will be no happy endings, could not be any more true. This book has an amazing mixture of suspense, a bit of romance, with some psychological and paranormal elements added in. All of that combined with Keary's astounding writing skills, is one hell of a great story that had me hooked from start to finish.

"Sully's gift is also my demise."

Three Heart Echo is about Iona, a widow looking for answers so she can move. Sully is able to talk with the dead. He's her only hope to move on with her life.

"My curse is the only blessing I've ever been able to offer the world."

My heart hurt for these two as they dealt with the fallout of their tragedies. How they came into one another's lives was fate but how things ended, while it was laid out before us, it was still twisted and messed up.

Keary wrote a very compelling and powerful to story of not just possession but fate. Sully and Iona's lives were destined to be what they were. While I knew what the ending was going to be, I was blown away by how it all happened. This story will stick with me for a long to come. There were times I felt things were a bit slow, but I think that was more on me because I needed to know what was going to happen next and I just couldn't wait. LOL

If you love a great story that will haunt you for days, weeks, months down the line, I urge you to read this book. There is some romance in this book, but know going into this book, there are no happy endings. Just a fucking awesome story with an ending that leaves you with chills.

Well, I'm kind of in shock right now (I think in a good way)! This book gives new meaning to the phrase, "I see dead people"! While I'm not usually drawn to the paranormal, I do love suspense so that was a plus. But I ended up loving this (after I threw the book across the room--figuratively-- as my kindle wouldn't survive)! I was so mad/frustrated at the end, but of course that's what the author had in mind. Themes of obsessive love, passion, appearance vs reality, how the dead can influence the living seemed quite Hitchcockian to me and who can imitate or echo the Master of Suspense? Well, clearly Keary Taylor can! I may have vivid dreams abut this one but it was well worth it!

Review:
*I received an ecopy of this book from the author. This has not influenced my review.*

Right from the very beginning, this book definitely had a creepy, eerie, bleak vibe. The writing, the setting, Iona’s character, and the story all did a good job of portraying that.

But, despite one of the main characters being able to talk to ghosts and having a curse passed through his family, the story didn’t actually feel all that paranormal. From the blurb, I was expecting and looking forward to some horror-ish ghostly hauntings, but that wasn’t the kind of story this was. It was more psychological, mostly about *SPOILER* *END SPOILER* but with some paranormal aspects to it (some of which were kind of random).

It was also slow-paced with some flashbacks, and I wasn’t really sure what the danger was until close to the end, at least not for Iona, so I didn’t feel much tension and wasn’t gripped.

This wasn’t bad though. The writing was good. There was a bit of mystery to figure out. The characters weren’t unlikeable. There was some surprising unpredictableness. The relationship between Iona and her family, how they felt about the relationship with her late fiance and her grief and how glad they were to have her back, seemed realistic. The relationship between Iona and Sully was sweet.

So while this wasn’t quite for me, anyone who likes bleak-feeling, slow-paced, paranormal suspense might enjoy it more.

'It's impossible to breathe when your arm is submerged in a well of blood. Impossible to think outside of this very small circle of curses and dread.
Impossible to feel anything at all except the ice-cold liquid. And the anticipation.
Something reaches up from below and touches the palm of my hand.'

A true page turner. Once I started the story I couldn't put it down until I was finished.

The author did a great job in setting up an eerie atmosphere that keeps you interested until the very end. An obsessive love story, betrayal, family curses...this story has it all.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️— A Hauntingly Beautiful Read—Even Better the Second Time

Reading Three Heart Echo by Keary Taylor for the second time has only deepened my love for its unique and eerie storytelling. The atmosphere is absolutely mesmerizing—haunting yet poetic, unsettling yet deeply emotional. I found myself completely absorbed again in the delicate balance of romance, suspense, and the supernatural, and even knowing the twists didn’t take away from their impact.

The story’s tone is one of quiet intensity, weaving together grief, love, and the unexplainable in a way that lingers long after you turn the last page. Keary Taylor has a way of crafting a narrative that feels both intimate and grand, making you feel the weight of every whispered secret and every lingering ghost.

And those twists? Bouche bée, yet again. There’s something about the way Taylor unravels her mysteries that keeps the tension tight, making each reveal hit just as hard the second time around. Even with the foreknowledge of what’s coming, I still found myself caught up in the emotions, the eerie beauty of it all, and the depth of the characters’ journeys.

Then there’s the ending—devastating in the best way. It’s the kind that sits heavy on your chest, a quiet heartbreak that lingers long after the final page. Even though I knew what was coming, it still hit me like a ghost in the dark, proving that some stories never lose their power, no matter how many times you experience them.

If anything, this reread has only made me appreciate the book more—its craftsmanship, its atmosphere, and the way it lingers in my mind like an echo of its own. Highly recommended, whether it’s your first time or your fifth.

I am the keeper of the dead.
The reacher beyond the veil.

Three heart echo is dark, bleak, spooky and eerie; I loved every single word in this book. I didn’t sleep for a minute last night; I just had to read the whole book till the bitter, satisfying, deliciously dark end. You will gasp, flinch and shake your head in disbelief. This is not what I expected at all. And I’m happy I gave it a chance to begin with because this is so good in a creepy, scary, I’m going to make you lose your mind kind of way.

It’s my very own mind that I’m scared of. Because it keeps blanking out on me. It keeps telling me to do these insane things

Iona Faye is grieving the death of her fiancé and she is so desperate to get the closure she was denied when the love of her life was murdered in a cold blood by the hands of a stranger she never knew that she decides to go pay a visit to a man who goes by the name of Sully Macintyre who is known for his ability to open the gate separating the dead and the living and speaking with the deceased. But she thought was an opportunity to say the things she wanted to say and connect with her fiancé again turns out to be the beginning of a wild, eerie and twisted ride full of dark secrets, betrayals and history of manipulation and abuse.

It was a bloody battle to an ugly finish that left four newcomers dead, and an entire tribe eliminated. Most don’t claim to believe in curses, but learn the fate of the family Whitmore, and you’ll be a believer.

The story takes place mostly in an abandoned town called “Roselock” that has a very bloody history full of death, curses and paranormal happenings echoing the decay and ruin of the past. The book is so atmospheric that you can’t help but feel the pull the town has on our main characters making it a villain in the story, a villain they can’t control or defeat. There’s a strong sense of place that scared me and made me aware of the creepy and frightening environment every step of the way; it is like there’s this darkness that I couldn’t shake down or ignore because it was at the centre of the book.

This is a symphony of destruction.

The blend between the psychological manipulation and corruption with the paranormal intrigue made this book a fascinating tale of possession and obsession about a love story that has gone terribly wrong and dark.

I started this book not knowing what to expect because even though I’m familiar with Ms. Taylor’s writing and love it, this is something a little different than she usually writes. I was absolutely blown away. Of course, the book had excellent writing, a wonderful plot, and the great characters I’ve come to expect from this author, but this time far surpassed anything I’ve read by her. Iona had found the love of her life, but he was taken from her violently and she needed closure. Sully can speak to the dead and help people get closure. Together, they could get answers, but should they? This book just had it all: mystery, heartbreak, love, sadness, horror, and whole myriad of other emotions. I literally stayed up past my bedtime to finish this book because I could not wait to see what happened. The suspense was just off the charts. And, the end just blew me away. I’m sorry for being vague, but to really say much would give away the whole book, and you have to read it to the end to get the full experience. All I can say is just wow. If you love any of the genres/emotions, you need to read this book; I can’t recommend it highly enough! Thanks to the author for the e-copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I seriously feel kind of speechless. That last 10%! Ok this is a suspenseful thriller with a darker undertone and a little romance dare I say. The blurb is pretty enticing I don't want to tell you more than is there and I don't even want to tell you if there is a happy ever after - why? As this book needs reading. I got 96% in and no joke I honestly thought there may be a second book! I read this over 1 sitting, I put it down for 1 toilet break! ONE! Other than that my other half made me tea, bought me treats and let me read. I don't rate books 5 stars often, this deserves every one of them. Did it end how I thought it would? No. Was the story like I thought it would be? No. Did I like Sully and Iona's voices in the story (It is only told from their points of view)? Yes. I felt they balanced nicely and made for a gripping read. I felt the opening was clever, it drew me in. I loved the twists in this and that shocking one about I want to say late 85-90% I literally re-read that chapter 3 times to make sure I just read it right. I was literally WTF! If fact I even said it out loud then had to tell the other half why. I still didn't understand why till about 2 chapters later. Read this book. I'm not paid to endorse it, I do not know the author, it was not gifted to me. In fact I'm going to go and see if the author has done anything else as I loved this. 5 stars! This is one of my favourites for 2017!

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is definitely not your typical love story, in fact you can’t really count it as a love story at all. But one thing I can tell you is that Three Heart Echo by Keary Taylor is thrilling from start to finish. Once I started I couldn’t put this book down, it had me on the edge of my seat through out.

Iona wants nothing more than to talk to her dead fiance, to tell him all the things she didn’t get chance to say and Sully is the man to help her, but he has his own issues. His end is coming, it’s just a matter of waiting but then along comes a little fawn asking for his help.

This is honestly not your typical story by Keary Taylor, but I absolutely loved it. The characters pulled me in and I wanted to know more about them and their lives, as well as how they had gotten to the point they were at now.

I can’t recommend this story enough and give it a solid 5 stars!

Three Heart Echo by Keary Taylor ended up on my reading list by yet another mislabeling on NetGalley, I must admit. As seen in the title image above, the book is a paranormal suspense. If you’ve read my blog for any length of time, you’ll no doubt guess that I grabbed it from the horror genre titles. Fortunately, after revisiting its cover I can at least say that its actual genre is the right one. While Three Heart Echo does have some elements of horror, it reads more like a paranormal-themed Lifetime movie.

Taking place soon after the death of Jack Caraway, Three Heart Echo tells the story of two vastly different people meeting and, you guessed it, falling in love. It’s not that simple though, and several of the more twisted things that one might expect from a horror novel surface throughout the plot. Iona Faye, a frail woman mourning the death of her fiance, seeks out Sully Whitmore, a man rumored to be able to speak to the dead. Together, the two unravel the darkness of Jack’s past while racing against time to unravel not one, but two curses.

The plot is fairly linear, with only one unexpected twist at the end. That twist defines much of the book though, and I have to admit that I actually felt anger flare up within me. I’ve gotta give Taylor kudos for that one. What I don’t like, besides the heavily romantic subplot, is the fact that, as readers see in many romance books, we’re dealing with two Mary Sue characters. Iona is described as a beautiful fawn whilst Sully is a giant Viking of a man. Catch my drift? Oh, and poor dead Jack? Apparently, he’s a stunner too.

While the plot is straightforward, Taylor also alternates between perspectives on chapters. Now, as a reader, you may think I mean she goes back and forth between past and present. It’s common enough when we read books, after all. Unfortunately, what I mean is that Taylor switches between perspectives of Sully and Iona. For the most part, the switches follow a pattern. There is some story overlap/repetition within those shifts, but it isn’t terrible. What perturbs me about these perspectives is that every now and then, there’s a break to the pattern where it may take some readers a moment to realize that the book has suddenly shifted to the past without warning.

Back to the romance side of things, there are far too many cliches. Poor, helpless main character gets an indescribable pain in their chest and they can’t fathom why it feels like their heart races when they look upon their love interest. As if that’s not bad enough, you know from the get-go that there’s going to be a love story involved. It’s not well enough to leave it a paranormal suspense, we might as well make it a romance too. Because y’know, two attractive people can’t simply be friends!

Speaking of chest pain, there’s another thing about this book that absolutely irked me. I could understand if one character had an odd need to count things. It happens and OCD is a real thing; but, what I’m referring to, is the need by both characters to take exactly five steps, to blink four times, to wait for three heartbeats before they do something so much as take a breath.

Finally, what the hell is a grand opus? The actual term is magnum opus. I’lll hope it was just a typo that was fixed in the final, published copy of the Three Heart Echo. Overall, the story itself is engaging to a degree, but it definitely wasn’t my style. I think it belongs more in the paranormal romance genre than it does horror.

I’d like to thank NetGalley and the author for providing me with a free copy for the purpose of review.

I wish I could give this more then 5 stars. I really enjoyed this creepy story. I would love to read a background book of this story as well. Keary Taylor has done an awesome job with this book. Every other chapter is either Iona or Sully's thoughts. So you get a good picture of the whole story instead of just one side. The book is kind of thought provoking with a "What If?" added to reality.

The book is about Iona Faye. Her Fiance Jack Caraway has been murdered in front of her and Iona just cannot force herself to move on, all she does is think of Jack and her loss. She finds out about Sully Whitmore. Who is said to talk to the dead.

Sully lives in the abandoned town of Roselock. Just him and the ghosts of the town live here. The men of Sully's family have been cursed and all males dies when they are 33 years, 3 months and 3 days old. Sully is just turning 33 and is just biding his time and waiting for the end to come.

Iona shows up to get help from Sully by talking to Jack so she can get some closure. Everything is not as simple as a loved one has passed away move on. They find out that Jack is not what Iona thought he was. He was evil in life and in death. It is up to Sully to find out from the spirits of Jack and the 3 other women's deaths he has had a hand in and save Iona before the curse comes to call him.

I won't tell you the end but I was kind of shocked.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com to read and review.

I'll start by saying this wasn't a bad book on the whole. The characters and the core concept were reasonably interesting.

A supernatural mystery is maybe as comfortably close to Horror as I'd label this book. It did feel like a romance quite often, which makes sense given the author's background, and when that's not what you signed up for that can feel like a bad thing. It wasn't creepy or scary (except on an intellectual level), there isn't much in the way of action or pacing. Most of the plot is conveyed through conversations detailing expository flashback information. Not necessarily a terrible thing, but just definitely not frenetic thriller or horror story.

What in the world did I just read
This a nope

I get the feeling of trying too hard in this book. It's a supernatural one with the protagonist communicating with the dead. However, the main plot where the female lead discovering unknown mysteries related to her partner was really out of the world. And the ending? Whut?

Would not recommend this book...

Meet Sully and Iona, a grieving widow, and a gifted medium. The story is told from both their points of view and is set in the mysterious town of Roselock where it’s not safe to go out after dark and strange things happen.

Years ago a curse was placed on the town and Sully is the last surviving inhabitant. He knows he can’t escape the past, the town or his destiny and that his time on earth will soon end.

Following the death of her fiance, Jack, Iona heads to Roselock in search of a resolution to her grief. She seeks out Sully wanting his help as he has the gift, or curse, of being able to speak to the dead. Without Sully’s help, Iona cannot move on with her life so reluctantly he decides to helps her but in doing so he learns that Iona is still connected to her fiancé in more ways than she realized.

Can Sully’s ‘curse’ help Iona overcome her all-encompassing grief, and will he be able to avoid the terrible fate he is destined for?

It starts as a love story, moving on to become an intriguing murder mystery entangled with ghostly communications, a search for the truth, historic events and further tragedy.

The characters are so vividly well written that it is almost like watching a movie and the whole book is full of atmospheric intrigue that is so compelling it’s almost impossible to put the book down!

I’m not sure I would class this as a horror, it for me is more of a psychological, supernatural thriller and as the book description warns, there will be no happy endings, the ending is not what you expect. Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out the story takes a completely different turn of events!

I can’t recommend this book highly enough, it is a story that you remember for a very long time.

Three Heart Echo
Wow! Just Wow! This is unlike many of Taylor’s novels, however only she could write this story. Keary has always enjoyed writing about the supernatural, as is evidenced by her Fall of Angeles Series, and her latest foray with the House of Ravens series. She has written Contemporary Romance, a Dystopian Series and another one of my favorite stand-alone novels, “What I Didn’t Say.”

Honestly, I started reading and was hooked! It is not her standard fare, but she takes complete and incredible charge of this genre. She always has the twist and then the zing! All I can say is make a space available next to you Mr. King.

Jack is a trained psychologist from NYU; his parents passed away while he was a student there. Iona works in a Library; she and her family all live in the same town of Ander. Iona’s father falls ill and passes away. From the moment she saw Jack at her father’s funeral, to the minutes near the end of the book, the progression of their relationship is controlled and meticulous. As Iona moves forward into her association with Jack, she slowly pulls away from her family, friends, and her job.

This is the story of Iona and Jack, and the descent into their relationship. This is also the story of Iona and Sully. From his little fawn, standing scared on the front porch, to the strength she finds in his company, and the one phrase that derails everything. Follow the madness from Ander to Roselock; follow the one item that helps you understand the Three Heart Echo.

I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this story even though it completely broke my heart!

Iona shows up on Sully's doorstep in the desolate town of Roselock. He is the only living inhabitant. He is cursed as is the land. Iona is looking for answers as to the death of her fiance and finds that she herself is cursed. They both end up trying to save each other from their curses and find the good in each other and in life once more.

I was given an eARC by the publisher through NetGalley.

What can I say? This is not a typical story for Taylor but I think it may be her best.
A heart broken woman and a hermit waiting for his predetermined day of death.
Pain, deceit, hope, love, death and two characters that you will not forget.
I would highly recommend this book.

Out of tragedy comes love.

Wow.... is all I can say.
I was actually gasping during reading this story. I'm not one to usually read suspense books but I want gifted an arc by the lovely author.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! In fact I'm rereading it soon, just so I can enjoy it with more detail!!

The story finds you following a broken-hearted Iona Faye into a decrepit and near abandoned town in search of one who can help her gain comfort and properly say goodbye to her murdered fiancée. The story that follows takes you through intrigue, sorrow, disbelief, loathing, and then love and back to sorrow.
It it beautifully written and I strongly suggest you grab this book and settle in a comfy chair with the drink of your choice and a stack of snacks, you'll find it hard to get up before you've devoured every word!!

* I received an ARC for this book. The opinions in this review are my own and I have not received monetary benefits for reviewing this book.

I've been a major fan of Keary Taylor ever since I read the Bane Chronicles. There's just something so engaging with her writing that draws you into her characters' worlds immediately. But, like the other Keary Taylor books that I've read, Three Heart Echo is quite different in the genre. It's not a romance book. It's not a fantasy book. And it's not a science fiction book. In fact, Three Heart Echo is a frightening, spine-tingling, can't-quite-put-this-book-down kind of novel that leaves you breathless at the very end.
As the synopsis tells you, Three Heart Echo begins with a very oddly possessive couple. The heroine is a sweet, mild, and gentle woman who, under suspect circumstances, become entangled in a very possessive romance. I won't give spoilers here, but I guarantee you won't want to put the book down because each page leads you deeper into the mystery. Oh, and did I mention about the ending being quite a shocker? Yeah, it's a very huge shocker that makes you wonder about everything you have just read!
Well done, Ms. Taylor! Three Heart Echo is reminiscent of Edgar Allen Poe's writing where the words are so mesmerizing that you can't help but read on until you're completely satisfied. And then, you still want more.
