Secrets in the Woods
By: Alexandria Clarke
Narrated by: Cheryl May
This is a book I received from freeaudiblecodes and the review is my own opinion.

This is a mystery with a gal that is working as a physical therapist in a teen psych hospital which is located out in the woods a ways. Beautiful, check. Isolated, check. All as it seems, nope!

Our gal slowly finds that things aren't as charming as it seems. It's a slow burn mystery until the end then things go fast. Lives are at stake and at the end it could be hers!

This was a bit slower than the other books I have of hers but still very much worth the read. It just took me a bit to get into this one. I think it was more me. I was expecting more of a paranormal book by the title. Guess it helps to read the blurb!
The narrator was pretty good.

What a great thriller this is.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that grips you from the start.
Well fleshed out characters that are very believeable.
Good world building that helps enhance the suspense with the plot twists that keep happening.
I can't wait to read more from this author.
Recommend reading.

Ok read...much better than her other books

I was going to skip reading this book because I've read 2 other books written by this author that were terrible and loaded with errors. I had only read them because they were part of Amazon's "Riveting Kidnapping Mystery Series". It seems that this author should stay away from writing about paranormal stuff, because those other 2 books included ridiculous stuff and were awful. This one wasn't bad and didn't have a ton of mistakes like the other two. Wasn't great but not bad either--okay. Although the title annoyingly makes no sense even after having read this entire book and has nothing to do with anything in the book.

This story caught my attention from the very beginning. I love how this author draws you in without realizing how much time you spend reading. I totally lost chunks of time reading about a Movement Therapist and her care for her patients. The mystery in this story was great and drew the reader in. This is also somewhat sad in that the Movement Therapist had a tragedy in her early childhood. I loved each character and their particular story. Read this book you will not regret it.

Twists and Turns Galore!

I read a lot . . . 4 or 5 books a week! I'm partial to mysteries, police procedurals, espionage! Anything that snacks of crime or derring-do! This book has a bit of a slow start, but soon picks up speed and pretty soon you're knee deep in shenanigans and suspects. There are several plot twists I didn't see coming (which is good!) And lots of doubt as to who to trust and who to beware of. All in all, it kept my attention and I read it in one sitting!

A tale of greed and malpractice

An interesting story about a woman who turns her life around. Natasha goes to work for a rehab facility as a certified movement and dance therapist. The owners of the facility are a likeable pair, but after a while "Nat" suspects misdiagnosis and malpractice going on. A list of supporting characters add to the suspense while Nat attempts to treat the misdiagnosed patients with empathy. A surprise character at the end saves her life as she goes against e unsavory characters. Easy reading for teenagers and women.

When thing began to get wierd in her place of business she did what she could to right the wrongs. You will not be disappointed at all. Great book.

OMG!!! This is one AMAZING READ! Suitable for all readers. You won't be able to get enough.

Totally intriguing and addictive...; Alexandria Clarke throws twist after twist; pummels your whole take on therapy, physical therapy, or youth aggression as to being misunderstood versus being misdiagnosed. What a rollercoaster of a ride, fast-paced almost gives you whiplash. Unputdownable! Thank you Alexandria Clarke for this FABULOUS book! PottsvillePA_TUE; 12072021.

I am always drawn to a book by this author and narrator combination and this one did not disappoint. The story itself was very complex and loved the twists and turns that came out it really worked. I was left guessing. My thought though throughout the book was how can she afford this hotel room, but that is just me being an accountant.

All in all such a great listen and so fully recommend it.

It may appear to be an upscale therapy locale at first glance, yet it seems a medley of secrets lie below the surface.

Layers of intrigue and tangled tales.

A great read if you enjoy uncanny and macabre!

Another Strong Lady

I really like the leading lady, Nat, in this story. She doesn't let anyone stand in her way when she wants something. I like that she is in an environment at work where she can have a rewarding experience. She's also compassionate. The climax of the story threw me for a loop! I didn't catch this one!

Thoroughly enjoyed this read! I didn’t know the author was an indie writer until I read their note at the end of the book. Normally I can pick out typos and such but I didn’t find any here! And one of the twists made me gasp audibly! Planning to search for more books 👏🏼
