I rarely get anything new out of most medical books, but I bought this one bc I'm on a list serve with the author and she mentioned that she has a protocol, which she offers in this book, to prevent SIBO from recurring. Much of what she says are things that I (as another ND) already know - but what she offers that is new is very intriguing. She mentions that the key element that prevents recurrence is the inclusion of sulfur, in the form of MSM (in addition to treating other root cause elements of course, such as leaky gut, digestive enzyme insufficiency, other types of organism overgrowth, etc). I'm intrigued by this because one form of SIBO usually presents with sulfur intolerance, so this seems counterintuitive... but I am hopeful that this will prove to be a terrific clinical pearl. It does make sense, as she's explained it.
