Kane and his team are trying to figure out how to get the Barracuda. They have to capture him and drag him to the United States.
But the drug cartel is still a strong force to be reckoned with, and Barracuda, the drug boss is determined to stay in power and fight for his drug empire.
The Team Reaper is also determined to fight back against The Barracuda and his hundreds of minions.
Barracuda has also hired a crew of mercenaries from South Africa to help defend him and help kill Kane and the Reapers.
This book is filled with extreme violence and brutality and action that makes the book over the top from danger.
Will Team Reaper ever get their hands on the ugly Barracuda?

This weaponized, fast-paced action thriller epic follows the Team Reaper aka the fictional Worldwide Drug Initiative against Chaves, a Mexican drug lord called la Barracuda. After a battle to secure Chaves, he's eventually broken out of prison multiple times by a group of South African mercenaries till he's finally freed on an underwater CIA blacksite base. When Chaves' kid is accidentally killed in a drone strike by the CIA, he begins a brutal spree of revenge executions and terror against everyone involved in the operation till the spooks give Team Reaper full access to go to war against the Barracuda. The action moves from Mexico to the US to South East Asia to Central and South America. The Barracuda, a former federal agent who was so ruthless against the cartels that he took over the cartels he had destroyed, is an interesting villain. He's sometimes mad, but ruthless and diabolical. John 'Reaper' Kane, a former Force Recon Marine and the main hero of the series, is badass and awesome. A member of the team almost dies in this book. Those wanting a fun, weaponized, fast paced, brutal, humorous, and action heavy thrill ride will like this. Though this is technically a pulp action thriller, it is smarter and better researched than most pulp thrillers that are out there.

I've read all of the Team Reaper books by Brent Towns and thoroughly enjoyed "The Barracuda". This time, Team Reaper is after a notorious cartel leader, Chavez aka The Barracuda. Once he's captured, the next in command employes mercenaries from South Africa to break him out. After the first attempt, the CIA take control and move Chavez to a secret jail on a desolate oil derrick in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. Once again, the mercenaries try to overrun the rig and free Chavez - failing once again. Soon afterward, the CIA releases Chavez and he goes on a reign of terror - killing innocents in the United States in retaliation. Now Team Reaper tries to flush him out once again, this time, to kill with extreme prejudice. Highly recommended.
Once I finished, I noticed that book #10 is accepting preorders for a February release. Needless to say, I bought it and will anxiously await the next installment.

This book starts out with a bang - pun intended. Reaper and his team are in a battle with members of a Mexican cartel gang headed by their leader Alejo Chavez, aka La Barracuda.
We have Team Reaper, Barracuda and the members of his cartel, a group of South African mercenaries, a mysterious traitor located in the US who has been giving advance information on future missions by Team Reaper and the CIA; and a CIA controlled abandoned oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. Combine this with missions in Mexico, Panama, Thailand, and a number of other countries and you have a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat and one that is very difficult to put down.
So be prepared before you start reading.

Team Reaper and friends have to deal with another cartel.
It's no surprise that the team are facing yet another dangerous situation which takes them from one side of the world to the other.
With the help of other special forces they have to kidnap a drug Lord from Asia,hand him over to the cia,before returning home to finish off the cartel boss they had already captured because of the deal he had made with the CIA which he had no intention of keeping as he started a killing spree to kill reaper and his team,one very big mistake that ended up with the team taking casualties but surviving.

“Barracuda” Read, And Now The Wait, Again, Begins.
With “Barracuda” now read the wait begins for book #10 to be released.
Yes, as always, I enjoyed it and again I recommend it.
While the entire series has been extremely good reading I liked this one slightly more than the previous one.
The author writes well. The editing is top notch and there is plenty off action.
Thank you Brent Towns for an enjoyable day of reading.

Not Enough Time To Breathe
There was never enough time top catch a breath before another shock or surprise caught me underprepared. Breathe, dammit! Once Team Reaper got their assignment with an open-ended ongoing mission you find yourself hanging on like you're on a rollercoaster ride! I tried to put it down but I just couldn't. Thrills, shocks, twisty turns -Wow! As you would hope, the drug cartel baddie dies like a wuss.

Barracuda!
Reaper and his team are an interesting group! The author uses strong character descriptions to bring the story to life and a plot line that is realistic with the good guys taking the hard shots at times and losing people. Recommend reading this book and I will be reading more of this authors work.

Excellent story !
I have read most of the Team Reaper books and enjoy them very much! The characters are well-developed and believable . The story line is complex but easy enough to follow . I look forward to further adventures of Team Reaper !

Great read, couldn't put it down.
Great read, story flowed perfectly. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys action novels. This author has a good nowledge of military action.

Let There Be Blood!
The story was different, but it wasn't. Again team Reaper was out numbered, and they killed their way out of trouble.
But the team took some lead in this book. If you want to know who and when, you will have to read the book.

'Barracuda!' completely blew me away. Once I started reading I had a hard time stopping. The story line was incredibly intense. Full of intriguing characters, impossible scenarios and a ton of action. I can't wait to read more. Definitely a must read.

This team seems to always get into the thick of things. There was action that did not stop. It did point out that making a wrong decision can cause a lot of harm. Especially if you blame others for what you did

Just plain good reading

Non-stop, action-filled adventure
