Third-generation working girl Sydney Flores is done with walking the streets—because she's traded up for a brothel. Except Ichor isn't just any brothel, it's also a blood bank where lonely vampires come for a little entertainment with their refreshment. She's seen and done it all, so a little fang on the job doesn't scare her away, especially when it comes with security cameras, bouncers, and a 401K.
So it's just another night on the job when Sydney meets three men, a shifter, a vampire, and a warlock, who promise her the one thing her mama taught her never to accept from a john: love. Sydney has spent a lifetime searching for a safe place to rest her weary head, but is this whore ready to put her all-too-human heart on the line too?
This book was good, but would have been so much better if it had been expanded; as is, the ending is very rushed. Do I regret reading it though? No. It was a decent read and quick
Sydney Flores has been working at Ichor for the past few months. She actually likes working here because the money is much better and it’s a lot safer for her. Being a vampire’s “meal” is optional but not something she wants to do. Dressed in her work outfit, she waves to Amaya and starts down the hall. Normally she would sit in a parlor with the others, waiting for a customer. But tonight, Miss Cheryl takes her upstairs and to a room for her “appointment”.
Her client knocks and enters the room, and it’s obvious he is a beginner, almost confused. Every question she asks, he repeats part of it like a statement. He is almost totally non-responsive but, she is good at her job and is successful. Jerome Durand wakes, not knowing where he is or what happened. A gorgeous naked woman walks out of the bathroom, and he turns away apologizing for walking in on her! He actually thinks his buddies are pulling a joke on him when she tells him what went on here. He still won’t believe it and hurries out.
As she comes downstairs, Sydney hears the others gasp in excitement as a client comes in. Sydney pays no attention, especially, because from the comments, she knows he is a vampire here for a meal. Her gaze is on her fingernails, but she catches his scent as she feels his breath caress her cheek. She tells him he cannot drink from her, but he wants her anyway. Sydney’s open and easy attitude draws people to her. But this was a night of “firsts” for her. She enjoyed his touches, she enjoyed being with him and how it felt real, and she actually fell asleep afterward, which she hadn’t done with a client since she was 14! And more surprising, she didn’t respond to the red light telling her clients were waiting. She didn’t want to be with them right now, although she knew Miss Cheryl wouldn’t let that continue for much longer. Sure enough, Miss Cheryl walked in with a huge tip for her from Niall. And not only did he not drink from her, but he didn’t drink from any of the others either, which was odd.
As Sydney steps out of work, a drunk grabs her, knocks her to the ground and punches her, breaking her nose. A woman scares him off – along with the pepper spray Sydney finally reaches and sprays in his eyes. She takes her to the hospital where a gorgeous man, Dr. Kaden Decker, comes to her room to tell her he needs to reset her nose and she will need 10 stiches on her cheek. That was most devastating of all since her value at work will be reduced by half with a scar on her face. But the doctor whispered that, though illegal, a vampire’s blood would heal and prevent a scar and this was not her fault. She had promised her deceased mother to never allow that, but would she change her mind with her livelihood now compromised?
This was a really good book with a great story line and likable characters. Seeing Amaya again from another series was also a nice touch. There is much more in Sydney’s story, especially the guys she meets that want more than just her services on the job. So much happens in this book! Grab your copy and see what choices she has to make! You’ll love every page!

This novel was well written and edited, with no typos that I could discern. The characterization was top-notch, particularly of the heroine. I was deeply sympathetic toward and rooting for this heroine. The world building was interesting without being drawn with a heavy hand. The plot and novel setup was really interesting and I really enjoyed the fact that it was something a little different than what I usually read. I would have to say that the weakest part of the novel was the development of the romance between the heroine and the three heroes. By the end of the novel, I had not really bought into their love and commitment to each other. Part of that may be because the page count was really too low to thoroughly build a believable romantic arc between four main protagonists. That is one of the biggest challenges facing writers of reverse harem romances. An enjoyable romance with a different creative premise that I enjoyed and a heroine that I also really enjoyed.

Origin by Chloe Adler. A brilliant read. Loved the story. Liked most of the characters. I did have a theory and I was partly right. 5*.

Well written fast paced story with some danger, angst and a ton of sizzling chemistry
I really enjoyed this story and how the characters felt real to me. Sydney is more than her 'work' but she has fab work ethic and takes great pride in her clients' satisfaction. I also appreciated her rules - and the desire to break those rules by all three of the men courting her. She finds friendship and safety in unexpected places and I really felt invested in her future. The author did a fab job describing this world, so I could slide easily into the story, and she kept me there with an entertaining plot. Well done!
I love every chance I get to visit Distant Edge. While this book takes me back to place I’ve previously visited, I’ve never seen this side of it before. Ichor is unlike any other place. And Sydney is a special new kind of heroine. She has an unconventional job that she’s very good at. Something she’s very proud of. This individuality draws people to her; including a shifter chef, a vampire racer, a warlock doctor, and a good-Samaritan witch. All walk into a bar… Sounds like the lead in to a joke. Nope. Just this one-of-a-kind story.
I’m not usually for a harem but this story was simple rather than the complex reverse harems spanning 3 or more books
Sydney is an interesting character that I feel could have been fleshed our better, much like the others. I feel as though I only got a little taste as to how these characters could have been.
Recommendable as a time filler that doesn’t leave you with a story hangover

This book takes a novel approach to the whole vampire, shifter, paranormal romance. The lead is a whore and proud of it. I thought it was a unique story. I liked a couple of the characters more than the others. I didn't see any typos. It was a good book. :)

Sydney was a lady of the evening with rules. But she was about to meet three men that were going to make her break those rules. Jerome , a shifter, Niall , a vampire and Kaden , a warlock were going to go against their own rules and fall for her too. Interesting and fun read.

Another great read by an awesome author. I was a little stand offish by the nature of the setting, where Sydney works. However, once you sink your teeth (no pun intended) into the story, the broader world unfolds. You get sucked (again no pun intended) right into this story. Love the characters, their interactions and all the juiciness that goes with it. Highly recommend!!!
A Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance Stand Alone story of one woman Sydney Flores, and everything she has to go through before she can believe Niall, Kaden, and Jerome really love her. A well written story that held my interest until the end. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

It was quite surprising however nice story. It cute in a way. It was hot in other. Final was unexpected a bit. Sydney’s life have a very rough start. It did spiral with her injury. But at the final nothing better could have happen to her. I wish her all the best. It was very nice read.
This is a very interesting read that is unique and intriguing. I really liked the distinct individuality of each character. This is a really great read that I wished was a bit longer. Overall, this is entertaining and has a great storyline.

Choices Sydney is a working girl and moving up in the industry. Better digs, more security and safer surroundings. Three "men" enter her life and all bring a little something different to the table but the one common factor they want to share with her is love. Will she take the gamble?
I really enjoyed this well written fast paced story that has danger, angst and great chemistry between the characters. I love when a book holds my attention til the end and makes my mind go holy cow.

Loving this book very much. The blurb got me and I was not disappointed by it. Remember that bad joke, a vampire, a shifter and a warlock walk into a bar. Well this story starts just like that and it's reality for the FMC. Nice story to read
I immediately fell into the story and did not want to put it down. I laughed, cried and was on the edge of my seat with everything that went on. I wondered throughout the book about how it was going to end. I cannot wait to see if there will be more set in this world.
