Convoluted and Awkward
This set is two books by the author about NLP, one he calls *NLP Hacks*--which is about using NLP to influence others—and one about using NLP on yourself. Unfortunately, I did not think it was well done for a number of reasons.
First, the order of these two books within the set was wrong. He should have started off with the general book about you and NLP, not how you can use NLP to influence others. The writing was convoluted and awkward, and sometimes he said he would discuss something, but that discussion either wasn't there or wasn't like you were led to believe it would be. As an example of the awkward phrasing, this was the leading phrase of a sentence in the first book, “Applying NLP onto yourself...” To me, that just seems like a strange way to put it or an odd way of thinking of NLP. Finally, much of what the author stated was unclear. This seems to be a problem in many of the NLP books that I have looked at. In neither book does he give a strong definition of what NLP actually is, nor does he describe the concepts in either book clearly. There is some overlap of the concepts between the two books in this set, but I didn't find the overlap added any clarity. All in all, if you are interested in NLP, I think you could find a better book on the topic.
