A mysterious vision sends P.I. Jude Byrne into a near-frenzy. The skinwalker who killed his father is about to strike again. With his family in danger, Jude knows he must return to the Navajo reservation where he was raised to confront the killer head on.
Psychic Copeland Forbes is a stranger in a strange land. He doesn’t know much about the Navajo culture or his place in Jude’s family. What he does know is that his gifts aren’t welcome, even though the spirits trying to speak to him may hold the key to the killer’s identity.
As the investigation progresses, there’s something niggling at the back of Jude’s mind, a shadowy memory that could stop this evil in its tracks. Can Jude recover this ghost of a memory in time, or will the killer claim his next innocent victim?

The seventh installment of the Haunted Souls series starts with a disturbing dream for Jude. He remembers nothing of what happened in the vision on waking, but the abject terror & the feeling of being hunted stay with him.
There is some role reversal as Cope falls into the role of protector - normally Jude's position - whilst the couple are drawn to Navajo Nation to try to solve both the mystery of Jude's dreams and, finally, the mystery of his father's death.
During their time on Navajo lands, we learn more about Jude's childhood and the reasons for his life on the reservation being made difficult are revealed, building on the character development we' ve seen over the course of this series and since Jude was introduced in the Cold Case Psychic books, including him rediscovering aspects of his native heritage. We also see more of Jude and Cope's growth as a couple and a family unit as they prepare for their future fatherhood.
As is the case with all of Pandora's books family (whether biological or found) is a strong theme. There are definitely ghosts of family issues here that need to be laid to rest for Jude, one of which is the understanding he reaches with the grandfather who raised him after he became an orphan. We also see some of the challenges that come about when people, especially family, are not completely honest with each other; even if the deception comes from a place of good intentions.
Aside from all the usual qualities we've come to expect from Pandora Pine's writing, Ghost of a Memory also gives us a great amount of detail about Navajo beliefs, culture & environment. To have this level of detail woven into the story and so sensitively treated must have taken an amazing amount of research. Kudos!
Overall, in addressing the difficulties of Jude's early years Ghost of a Memory is a rekindling of relationships, the comfort of family on and off the reservation, a reckoning for the guilty and a cracking good mystery.

There were high expectations going into this book, I'm not going to lie. And wow, just WOW! The dynamics in this book were different as Jude and Cope both have to deal with Jude's past and his remaining blood family. I am no longer surprised at the depth and complexity of the characters this author has brought to life, and for this book, both men showed vulnerabilities and the strength to overcome them. But then, this is the book where the men meet their destiny, so to speak, and they both step up, willing to sacrifice it all to save him. The book starts with a bang and really, doesn't slow down until the guys are safely back in Salem. Jude has been close to my heart as a character since we first met him, and this book just reinforces that. Going back doesn't just mean battling those that killed his father and cousin, it means battling his teenage fears and the scars from mental and emotional bullying and ostracization. He has grown so much through his friendship with Ronan and Ten, with his relationship with Cope, but learning how to view his teenage years as the adult he is now was absolutely amazing to read. This book tests both men in ways neither was expecting and they both rise to the task. It is an amazing read, but be aware, you won't be able to stop reading until it's finished and you'll definitely need tissues. Well done Ms. Pine, well done. Please don't make us wait too long for the next...

The feeling of nostalgia set its way in as I read this book. It was both mysterious and exciting and I am almost glad we have finally gotten to Jude's story...almost. Now onto more adventures and a lifetime of baby Wolf.
Whoever said you can't go home again was wrong.
One forgotten dream sent Jude in a tailspin and to find answers he needed to go back home. Back home the the reservation he'd left fifteen years prior. More surprises were in store for the ghost detectives. And in order to complete their mission, they needed to figure out who was responsible for so many deaths. And when baby Wolf became the center of it all, there was nothing the two new parents wouldn't do for their son.
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
I think that this is my favorite to date. We really get into Jude's background and find out more about what happened after his father's death & when he went to live with his grandfather. I know it is a horrible experience growing up on a reservation & it so saddens me that they are still living in those conditions. It just pisses me off how the tribes were treated and are still being treated. But I digress. Jude has a vision that sends him & Cope back to the reservation to try to stop the death of his cousin & his wife, unfortunately they do not make it in time. They have a son, and yes you guessed it on who the boy is. Even though the why he came into their care was so very sad, he is now where he needs to be. Even though it is very dangerous, Jude & Cope decide they are going to figure out who the skinwalker is and bring them to justice. Who the person was, I didn't see coming, never even crossed my mind. I'm glad that Jude & his grandfather came closer & Jude does let go his guilt of walking away when he was 18. I so love this series & love that each story is fresh and so keeps my attention.

Pandora Pine's Ghost of a Memory is a thrilling addition to her Haunted Souls series.
Jude and Copeland. 'Nuff said, right? But, omg, this one isn't just Jude and Copeland, but also Wolf!
After a vision, Jude and Copeland travel back to his old Navajo reservation. What follows is another great mystery, a skinwalker, and plenty of danger. Jude has to face his destiny, making for a riveting storyline. Jude's background, and everything leading to where he is now is a highly enjoyable read. It certainly all helps add to Jude's development in an unforgettable way.
As if I didn't already love Jude and Copeland enough, now we get to read about them becoming parents. And it's everything I could have asked for. And, omg, how I love the way the Pandora adds the babies into her books.
The author does an excellent job making the Navajo culture come alive for the reader. We get to learn about the tribe, myths, and legends. As always, the writing is non-stop, combining mystery, danger, romance, and humor in a fantastic manner.
The scenery and land is brought to life for the reader, easily placing everyone there in the setting.
Overall, Ghost of a Memory is sure to delight all of Pandora Pine's fans. She gives us another good mystery while also adding more layers to Jude and Copeland, individually and as a couple. I couldn't ask for more.
Eye-opening, emotional, and engaging, this story is one I’ve been waiting for since we met Jude back in the Cold Case Psychic series. His origins, history, and that mysterious air that surrounded him from the start have been slowly unraveled in his and Cope’s series. Here, though, we finally get answers I’ve been hoping for for a while, as well as a story that had me furiously turning pages because I needed to know what happened next (seriously, I didn’t move until I finished). And WOLF! Finally!
Prepare for some tears, some laughter, so much love, and an unrelenting feeling of suspense that will keep you glued to this book until you finish, too. And if you haven’t read any of this series yet, I strongly advise you to start with the beginning of Jude and Cope before this one.
You all know how much I love my Jude, but this book somehow made me love him even more. He and Cope have evolved so much together, and I simply adore them together. I may have just finished this story, but like usual when I finish one of their books, I already can’t wait for more Jude and Cope.. and Wolf!!
Even though I can't say enough good things about this book, and won't bother because everyone else has, I will say this... and it obviously needs repeating! Quotation marks come in sets of two for a reason... ONE goes at the beginning of a quote and guess what? The second one goes at the end of the quote! These messing quotation marks seem to be the bane of Ms. Pine's existence and annoying as hell for the readers... just sayin'!
It was wonderful that Jude and Cop finally got to became fathers, but it broke my heart that lives had to be lost for it to happen, but such is the imagination of Ms. Pine, are we even surprised? This book felt like Jude has come full circle, but I can't wait to see where this series will head next, but I am sure that there will be adventure, danger and baby poop... just sayin'! LOL!!!
We've been waiting to hear more from Jude and Copeland but especially anymore on Wolf and this is it! This story focuses very much on Jude's Navajo roots and the family back home. A dream/vision gets him going back sooner than he thought when those he cares about are in trouble from the forces that murdered his father. Jude and Copeland are a great couple, constantly learning more about each other and moving forward in their relationship. There's a lot of growth and development that we've seen from Jude since meeting him back with Ronan and Tennyson but also from his teenage self that we learn more about through flashback moments and getting to spend time with Running Eagle, his grandfather. Ghost of a Memory is so well written. I can't imagine the research that would have gone into the Navajo aspects that are talked about with rituals, traditions and beliefs being so important to their people. I really enjoyed the mystery and drama that arises throughout the story. There's a murder mystery, family drama, the stress of returning to the family home that Jude left at 18 and dealing with family members that are both welcoming and distrustful, especially of Cope who is an unknown. Cope does so well in his support of Jude and his want to learn everything about the culture that the man he loves. There is less time spent with Tenn, Ronan et al but you know they're there, just waiting for any time they may be needed. There's plenty going on in this story with talk and interactions with witches, psychics, the Navajo culture and even mention of the British Royal family on occasion. Another brilliant story to add to Jude and Copeland's series. Their relationship goes from strength to strength with another milestone or two reached in this book which I was so happy to read. Definitely a recommended read though I'd say to read in order as it will help with continuation of overall plots and relationship development. So excited to see how these two men move on from here. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Jude and Copeland’s story is captivating and I feel like each book just gets better as the couple’s relationship develops. There was wonderful world building and an intriguing plot. I was once again completely engrossed in their story and kept on the edge of my seat.
Jude and Copeland are at it again. This one is definitely a suspenseful mystery with some danger and a bit different than the past books. They face several challenges and have to make some important choices. Through all the twists and turns, the difficulties they face, and secrets being reveled the two stay strong.
I love Jude and Cope and now little Wolf! Such a great series!!
From the cliffhanger epilogue in book 6, Pandora had me on the edge of my seat and thankfully book 7 kicks off right away, but it wouldn’t be a Pandora book without a challenge to start! Jude has a vision about Wolf and dangers from his past and wakes in a panic but can’t remember the dream/vision. Jude and Cope then enter a dangerous web of magick, darkness, and danger as Jude faces his past and returns home to the Navajo reservation.
I love how Pandora included a rich history and knowledge of Navajo culture, tradition and belief’s in this story and I loved the balance of Jude’s Navajo side and Cope’s magick and how they were able to face the dangers ahead together to save their son, their present and their future from the darkness, danger, and betrayal of the past!
I’ve enjoyed seeing Jude grow over the course of this series and feel he is stronger and better as the series goes on. I love the Ronan/Jude Bromance and while The West Side Magick crew aren’t really featured in his story I loved Jude and Cope’s tribute to Ronan with their son’s name.
This is a great paranormal series, with fantastic characters I just can’t get enough of. I loved it!!
A Confrontation Decades In The Making. With the way the previous Haunted Souls book ended, the anticipation for this book was *sky* high. On the relationship side, the book absolutely did not disappoint, particularly in relation to this being a spinoff series from the Cold Case series. (Jn other words, the Cold Case characters are referenced but never actually appear "on screen" in this book.) On the action and mystical side, I gotta admit, the final fight was a bit more anticlimactic than most of either this series or its main series. Until the final confrontation that side of the story was its usual excellent nature, it was that particular scene that had issues. Still, truly one of the best books of this series and an absolute must read for those who have been invested in it. As always, it *can* work as an entry point to both this series and the overall universe- and actually my issues with the final confrontation may be lessened for someone using this book as an entry point. Very much recommended.
This is another excellent addition to the Haunted Souls series and I love that we get to learn all about Jude's background as well as meeting his grandfather. Jude and Cope have a rock solid relationship and they are about to embark on an entirely new journey if they manage to survive the new dangers they face. Unfortunately they don't have their friends with them to help them so they will have to rely on each other's unique strengths and gifts. They face their most difficult challenge yet as everything is riding on their ability to stop the skinwalker that has killed Jude's father and cousin. No one wants to help them and there are many secrets that will have to come to light if they are to succeed. This story is well written, full of suspense, the setting is amazing, the mystery is intriguing, there are several surprising twists and the ending is perfect. I can't wait to read the next book in this incredible series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
This is one of my favorite stories from the world of my beloved Salem witches and psychics. After a horrifying vision, Jude and Copeland go back to the Navajo nation of Jude's childhood. Their plan is to meet and save the son they've been waiting for, and to find the black magicked murderer who killed Jude's father and baby Wolf's parents. There are no other mysteries that need to be solved, which works well. The entire story is focused on our wonderful couple and their fight to save their newly received son. I love seeing how much both Jude and Cope have grown; and the way they completely trust and support each other is beautiful. This story is full of heartbreak, but it is also full of so much love. Details of Jude's past are revealed, which explain so much about the man he's become. Seeing him and Cope switch over to father mode is swoon-worthy. I adore this world, this couple, and this amazing story.
Compelling love, good magic vs evil, and lots of action make this an awesome read. I found this story to be complex and very engaging. The family relationships and dynamics created an additional layer of interest for the plot. The writing was excellent and the story-line was compelling. I loved the pacing and really found that i couldn't put this book down and i read it in one sitting.
Jude and Cope are amazing! Our characters give us even more of themselves as they try to unravel a very scary and deadly foe. Together our MC's find strength and purpose and their love grows deeper and stronger.
This is book seven of the Haunted Souls series and really should be read in order. This series is very interesting and the characters develop over the course of this series. I would really recommend you treat yourself to the entire series and enjoy it from beginning to end.
I was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my honest opinion and review.
4.5 stars This is Jude’s story that I’ve been waiting for. We finally get the back story of Jude’s life after returning to the reservation as a teen. Actually, even JUDE gets lots of info he was never aware of at the time. Jude and Cope go to the Navajo Nation after a series of visions involving the death of Jude’s cousin and his cousin‘s wife. He also sees in his vision his foretold son, Wolf, who is left orphaned after his parents’ death. Jude goes with the intention of both finding out who killed his father and adopting Wolf. Lots of secrets are unearthed, Jude has many revelations and by the end hearts are healed. It’s never fun reading about family dysfunction, but it’s a good story, and offers a few lessons about seeing things from another’s point of view. Very happy that Jude and Cope are finally proud parents.
A terrifying vision wakes Ghost Detective Jude Byrne but he can't remember it. All he knows is it somehow involves their soon-to-be son Wolf. When Jude later learns the the skinwalker who killed his father is about to strike again it sends him bolting back to the Navajo reservation where he was raised to confront the killer head on.
Psychic Copeland Forbes is a stranger in a strange land. His gifts aren't welcome but may hold the key to unlocking long held secrets and the killer’s identity.
Jude has a feeling that he's forgotten something important. A shadowy memory that could stop this evil in its tracks. He needs to recover this ghost of a memory in time before all is lost.
Finally Jude Byrne gets closure regarding his fathers death. Another gripping Free Kindle Unlimited book in the Haunted Souls series.
Jude and Cope are back, and after that ending in the previous book, I had to immediately jump into this one. Jude is pulled back to his home and comes face to face with the past that has haunted him for so long. Cope, of course, is there every step of the way for Jude, and considering it's their future family at the heart of this case, they have more at stake than ever. All of the cases Cope and Jude have faced before have been hard and emotional, but this one was everything for them. The writing conveyed this extremely well, and I found myself unable to relax until I reached the end. Then there were so many happy tears because that ending was simply beautiful. I hope this series is a long way from ending!
From the beginning, we knew Jude would have to go home and confront his father's murderer. Who knew he'd be meeting his baby at the same time?
This was a pretty satisfying book, though I was a little disappointed that Cope didn't use Jude's magic word against the skinwalker in person. Really. He did like one spell. Couldn't he have cast a protective circle or something? Poor Cope's skills seem to desert him in emergencies.
If you're looking for family drama, you'll find it here. And action. And sex. Perhaps best, this book answers most of our questions about Jude!
The boys are on the way to the Navajo lands where they will finally have their son. With evil among them, Jude and Cope need to protect their new family at all cost. The Skin walker that killed Jude's father killed Wolf's parents as well all to claim Wolf and his powers. It was a really good story but in the end while fighting the evil, Cope used no magic to defend him or Wolf. He is powerful and he is sitting the like dead duck. Also Jude has the power to Heal but he never used it. He could have helped Misty and helped Able instead of using CPR or Crow coming to help. They have these powers and they always forget to use them.
Oh boy, I was captivated from the first chapter. I completely just one more chapter all the way until 2am to finish this book in one sitting! I love Cope and Jude anyways but this book takes them back to Navajo Nation. I really enjoyed the Native culture and rich description Pandora provided in this book. There is a perfect blend of action, adventure, ghosts, romance and family. If you are looking for a captivating story, excellent plot line and intriguing characters this book is for you!
**I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Ghost of a Memory is an exciting new addition to the Haunted Souls series. It gives you an idea of where Jude was raised and what happened to him in his past. Jude and Copeland return to the reservation where Jude was raised after he had a vision about his future and their son. There's action, angst, romance, babies and we get to meet Jude's family. The book is also suspenseful, some very intense moments, with spirits, and I loved seeing all the previous MCs from previous books. I always look forward to any books that Pandora Pine writes.
Another amazing addition to the series! Jude and Copeland are at it again, this time heading back to the reservation where Jude grew up. I love how we get so much of Jude's background and it's an emotional journey for Jude as he has to come to terms with his past and get some answers. The mystery itself was great and I did not expect the identity of the culprit. Jude and Copeland have both grown so much, both individually and as a couple and I love watching it unfold. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Jude and Cope have the adventure of a lifetime. The terrifying vision that Jude suffers leads them on a wild and scary trip through past, present, and future. Jude goes back to the reservation where all hell starts to break loose. He and Cope must fight for their lives to have the future they have dreamed of. Peace, contentment, and closure is what they need for their future, wait til you see what it takes to get it. Happiness is always on the horizon.
Ghost of a Memory is the seventh book in the Haunted Souls series by Pandora Pine. This series just keeps getting better with each new book released. The world building, the plotting, the character development that has occurred has built a wonderful and addictive universe that etches itself into readers' hearts.
In this book, we have Jude and Copeland facing a major life change, some revelations and a big choice. The story has drama, suspense, magic, humor and family. I loved it all.
O.M.G. I love Jude and Cope, this one is a rollercoaster of action, angst, mystery and Navaho traditions. There are quite a few potential bad guys, but the reveal is unexpected. Through it all, it’s so good to see Jude and Cope so strong as a unit and it’s going to be interesting to watch them grow as a family. This spin off of the Cold Case series is compulsive and compelling reading. Highly recommended.
Ghost of a Memory is a terrific addition to the Haunted Souls series. The challenges that Jude and Cope face are numerous. Together they are rock solid. They are up for any trouble coming their way. As long held secrets come to life what will happen next? This story is so full of suspense, intrigue and action that I couldn't put it down until I reached the very last page. I can't wait for more in this amazing series!
I always love visiting these two characters. This story was interesting. I liked the addition of the mystical creature element. I loved the beginning of the story. I loved its narrative. I loved the imagery of the dream. I think the story was well written. It seemed to me like the author keeps bringing her characters to bigger and better places each story addition. I received this as an arc and freely left this review.
I love the characters Miss Pine has created with her series here. This one follows Jude and Cope as they go to Arizonia following a vision Jude has. This book is mostly centered on Jude and Cope and their relatives who live on the reservation. The mystery of the skinwalker was so-so, not that I guessed but we got to see more of Jude and Cope's relationship developing and of course, them becoming parents to Wolf.
Jude is having nightmares and begins to wonder if it is an actual vision. With Cope at his side, Jude returns to the Navajo Reservation that he had run from at 18 to stop what he is dreaming about. As the past comes roaring back, Jude knows that there is more going on than what he is seeing. With Cope supporting him, Jude must figure out what he has forgotten to ensure Cope and Wolf are safe.
This book will have your heart hurting while you are cheering them on. I cannot wait for more!
