Zade Baru-Nok, high physician of the Raplan-B, has been given two tasks by his Saar-king. The first is to save the life of the human woman who has been transported to him. The second is to discern what alien creature attacked her and is now loose, causing chaos on Earth. One touch to his unconscious patient reveals her to be his true, biological mate, and separating duty from desire proves to be his greatest challenge so far.
Ashley Hill is on a remote mountain retreat when an alien creature attacks her group, leaving her the only survivor. She awakens from a coma on a Baylan base ship with an alien-made bionic leg and unbearable attraction for her gorgeous Baylan doctor. Held in quarantine, within the tight proximity of Zade's personal chambers, she feels the hunger behind his tightly leashed control. However, the bond of a mate cannot be denied indefinitely...
Little do either realize that the creature that attacked Ash is not quite finished with her, and it poses a deadly threat neither of them see coming.
Follow their romantic adventure in THE BAYLAN CHRONICLES: ZADE
Feel free to read THE BAYLAN CHRONICLES in any order! This is a stand-alone story with no cliffhangers and no cheating. I write what I love to read, so there is always consent and always a happy ending.
On the short side. Very medical focused, but he is the doctor. She’s 32, and a few years out from being widowed. Not sure why her husband is made out to be a ne’er-do-well. There was a continuity error on their date. They enter the restaurant and she sits down before he leads her to an empty table and they sit. Major element of story is not wrapped up, but that’s probably another book. If so, I really appreciate how it didn’t worm its way into this book. Both likable characters, even if he was a bit Vulcan-like.
Great story, but was so hoping there was more to this series. What happens with the alien beast loose on earth? What about the assassin sent to kill it? More please Ella. Looks like Varillian mates is next
The Baylan Chronicles is an alien romance series written in third person by Ella Blake. If I remember correctly, all of Ella’s other alien romance novels are written in the first person format, which I prefer. Novels written in third person often feel too far removed from the characters. However, Ella has managed to pull it off without leaving the readers becoming too distant from the story. This series takes place in present day, with Earth still believing that we are alone in the universe. The first book introduced the aliens to our world, the second book placed us at the point of peaceful negotiations, the third book ended the terror of the Department 6 organization on Earth, the fourth book battled enemies in space but gained an alliance with the Varilians, and this one dealt with a toxic alien species making its way to Earth.
The book Zade is the fifth book in the series and follows a Baylan doctor named Zade Baru-Nok who is the lead doctor of the Raplan-B, which is King Drace’s craft (who we met in book 1). Ashley Hill was a widow who was at a survivor retreat with a bunch of girls in therapy in a cabin in the woods when it was attacked by unknown species. Dr Zade was the doctor assigned to repair Ash’s leg and nurture her back to health all while trying to figure out what species attacked her on earth. During her procedure, however, his mate bond marking showed up and complicated the doctor patient relationship. The two fell in love during the time they spent together and lived happily ever after.
Overall, this book is the exact same story that I have read 100 times. Same book, different cover. Boy meets girl, girl gets in trouble, boy saves girl, boy and girl fall in love and live happily ever after while one of them fight their feelings along the way. The boy was a doctor in this book and took saving her life to a whole new level. I would have expected the female to be the one to fight her feelings, considering she was a widow who never planned to love or marry again. Unexpectedly, it was he who fought his feeling to the point of blocking his body’s hormones.
While I do enjoy how this series is written, and also the Virilian Mail Order Bride series, I think Ella Blake’s Lords of Destra series has been the best of her craft. This particular book was my favorite of the series , probably because there was less denial between the couple. I recommend the read.
Part of The Baylan Chronicles series a book I was not putting down until I finished reading it. A well written story with a very good storyline the story flowed smoothly across the pages. Ashley Hill a widow was attacked while she was on a retreat with other women, she is the only one left alive but she is being eaten by the saliva from what ever attacked her. She has been shipped to the Raplan-B where Zade Baru-Nok is the high physician. As he has to touch her without a barrier to feeling her skin he washes his hands to take the protective covering off, that he realizes she is his Mate. They have so much to overcome and the creature is not done with her yet. I will say one thing do not start reading at bedtime as you might not be able to put the book down. I want to read the other books in this series. I read this book Through K.U.
After being attacked by an alien creature, Ash is transported to the Baylan ship for treatment. The head physician there, Zade, is startled, and not altogether pleased, when he discovers Ash is his soul mate, but the mating bond won’t be denied…
An enjoyable addition to the Baylan series, this one features the doctor we met in the previous books as he finds his own mate and has to experience the bond for himself! There’s plenty of romance and sexy times, a little action, and some angst. A fun and quick read for the sci-fi fan.
Zade and Ash are the last stir in this series. Zade is the high physician for Drace and saved his mate Rachel. When Ash is attacked and is the only survivor of five women, Drace sends her to Zade because he is the only one who to save her and make her a new leg.
What a brutal way to start a retreat! A huge savage alien beast came through a sliding glass door and bit Ashley and punted her into a wall. It then proceeded to eat and kill the other four women. So Ashley's leg turned to Kelly and physician Zade sculpted her lower leg using Baylan skin and metal bone. Zade immediately felt his mating instinct kick in.
Loved the characters and the romance. Sex scenes were steamy, but I usually skip those. That means I pay a lot of attention to the plot. This is a great book to read for sheer escapism. Good job, Ella! And great editing, too!
Good story about the head Dr. on the main ship and how he met his mate. Zade is a nice guy who is really busy but his life is completely changed after his human mate becomes his main patient.
I am obsessed, I seriously wish this could really happen. It would be amazing... Can't wait for more. The stories are so consuming and well written. Love this series, love this author!
I'm pleased that we finally got a wedding. This series was easy reading. It is such that you could just flow through and not get Stuck on the academics. I read to escape in simple pleasures not fora literary high.
I have really enjoyed this series. The characters and stories are well.defined and all have happy endings. I am looking forward to starting the companion series.
Zane and Ashley’s story is exciting. I normally am not a fan of doctor romances but this novel was very good. Solid plot, likable characters, good heat!
I love The Baykal Chronicles. I could easily fall in love with these guys. I love high physician Zade. And his new mate. I recommend you read all of The Baylab Chronicles.
