New year, new magic?A witch can make resolutions, too…right?Psh. First I have to get to the new year. Just when I thought everything was going perfect BOOM. Problems. And not just any problems…missing children problems. One of them is my soulmate’s little cousin, which is bad enough for my anxiety, but the other is a young cousin of the shifter King. Not like that’s a significant detail or anything. Now we’re in a race with time to find them…but something tells me our problems are only just beginning.Don't miss the epic finale in Emersyn and Deacon's eventful experience at The School of Magical New York City
Will we revisit the Amelia storyline? What about the tower from season 2? Still don't know her. Are Bettina and Jackson gonna open a London SOMA? So many questions.
I do have to say every book in the series so far really needs some major editing. There were a lot of grammar and spelling errors. That being said I really love this series. I oopsed and read Bettina's books first. It wasn't too confusing but made a lot more sense after reading Tegan's books. Even with editing issues, it didn't take away from the story lines. I really wish Emerson's books were a little longer though. This is a must series to read!!!
This has been a great novella series that I am sad to see end! This is a fab addition to the series and is full of twists and turns and action. Relationships continue to grow and develop as Devon and Emerson’s soul mate ritual is finished and the characters and storyline are just awesome! Would definitely recommend!
Empire Witch picks up with out missing a beat. Deacon's cousin is out looking for her new friend who has taken off during the middle of the party. We get to see Koth and company in action and meet some new people from his island, who could prove to be quite entertaining. A new threat has come to the surface. Another amazing story that will keep you turning page after page. I loved seeing my girl Em becoming more confident with herself. And the Christmas presents? Epic!!
This book was amazing. So much stuff happened and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it . I’m totally shocked by somethings but in such a good way. I don’t want to give anything away because this book was absolutely EPIC and you need to read it yourself. You won’t be disappointed at all . One of my absolute favorite books this year .

I love this series. I love the world building done. I however don’t think this is a good book. This definitely needed a good edit. Grammatical errors along with spelling errors were found. But the worst were some of the choices made by the author. I really wish that 12-year-old Amelia did not have a soulmate. She’s 12. It’s disgusting. Way too young. She’s not even a teenager. She’s a child! It’s cringeworthy. Not to mention that the storyline did nothing to push the story forward. I believe if you take out a couple of scenes regarding this topic, the story would have remained the same. Also A 12-year-old does not speak or THINK like an adult. All the interior monologuing of Amelia did not match her age. I should know. I have a 12 year old. This book definitely needed a rewrite. This book should have been zero stars but I keep it at two because I do love this author and I love the series. This book is disappointing.

Another amazing hit as Chandelle LaVaun continues branches of the original The Elemental Magic The Coven Academy Series which introduced us to these incredible characters. Each deserve their own story and this series continued with Emmeryson & Deacon’s growing love story and what deepens their affections as they continue to fight not only for a new dream of a SOMA in more locations around the world. If only that was all they had to worry about ! As shifters & witches don’t want mix believing their differences are to immense. Then a family member goes missing as she fights to save a shifter herself. Unfortunately once again the covens biggest enemy has infiltrated another fraction of a radical group who wants to see the end of shifters. I can’t really give anymore information without spoiling the storyline for you, however this is one epic finale including so much action, terror, prejudice, battles, acceptance, friendship & love and of course connecting with our favourite coven members and those of old acquaintances. That is just the highlights but as usual Chandelle LaVaun always gives so many layers and threads it keeps this fast paced series a favourite of mine. She always leaves you with a shocking cliffhanger and this series was no exception. I can’t wait to see where she takes us next
OMG! Chandelle is the queen of twists and surprises.
This was my favorite book of this series.
There was more action but still on a smaller scale than seasons 1 and 2.
I'm so happy to see the growth of Deacon's family. Especially how Heather has changed. I'm also happy to see how Emercon has evolved.
Amelia is a badass!!
This book had me saying "Oh my goddess" so many times. Then I was screaming and grinning from ear to ear because what I guessed came true only pages later. Chandelle didn't make me wait 4 books but now I need more of that part of the story.
The little drops in this book has me so ready for the start Saffie's story.
I like how each series overlaps with each other. You don't need to read the others to enjoy any series but it's nice to notice a moment that has happening in SOMA that happened in Coven Magic.
But seriously, if this is your first experience with the magical world that Chandelle has woven then I suggest you start at "The Chosen Witch" and catch up with the rest of us!
I'm never disappointed with a Chandelle LaVaun creation!!
What a book! This third novella had everything. Hot scenes, emotional roller-coasters and all the laughs that you expect with the coven together. Em and deacon expand their relationship and we get to see how strong they are together. I loved that these novellas give us a glimpse behind the scenes of the secret witch (season two) and from multiple povs. The empire witch gave us an insight into the shifter characters (I want more of them) and we get a sneak peak at the next upcoming season. I absolutely love these characters and email and deacon have a special place in my heart. Another amazing book by Chandelle! These books are like a fantasy land you never want to leave. Her novellas are the perfect bridge between seasons and even though em and deacons storyline has completed, we'll still get to see them in future books and fingers crossed we get some more storyline just for them in the future!
This story is a continuation of the previous book Uptown Witch, which centered around the Yule Ball in New York. This book offers heartfelt moments as readers get the chance to spend a little time on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with Deacon and Emersyn and their families.
The crew has an adventurous New Year’s Eve as they battle dark forces that bring out more of Emersyn’s gifts. Love that we spend time with Coven members who feel like family, but this book also introduces us to new Shifters, new relationships and alliances who will battle the new group of Dark Forces. Dragon shifters - yea!!
As the conclusion to Emersyn and Deacon’s story arc, it was lovely to experience their Soul Mate ceremony and they finally consummate their relationship in seriously steamy fashion. I can’t wait for the next installment as the intensity and mysteries ramp up again, and we get a hint we will re-meet loved characters from previous books.

I am so smitten with Em and Deacon. I love and adore their fierceness and loyalty. This was an amazing book once again. Beautifully written, with tons of humor, steamy scenes and craziness. We pick up exactly where the last book left off, trying to find Landy. With the help of the dragons and the coven nothing is impossible. We have new enemies, unforseen issues with a coven member, a possible additional mated pair..gah. I love that Chandelle dropped a time of Easter eggs in this book. You can totally see where another season might come in to play. We also get several new additions to our crew. I truly am sad to see this season end but what I love is that you know it's not over and we will have more amazing storylines from Em and Deacon.
I received an ARC of this book for my honest opinion.
An epic conclusion to the amazing subtlety boss that is Emersyn. The minor details of the family dynamics allowed the reader to become emerged in a world similar to their own, and yet oh so very different. The friendships that were made, and the introduction of new characters will allow this series to continue in some for or fashion for many seasons to come. I loved this story so much that I highlighted 127 things that caught my attention. The alliances that are forming will make for an epic smackdown of those that oppose the Coven later on. So many questions were answered and yet so many more questions are being asked. New favorites will emerge, not replacing old ones but instead joining them. This author is a genus when it comes to character development, if you haven’t already read this series. She has yet to disappoint.
The Empire Witch doesn't have an Act 1 problem, Act 2 setback, Act 3 solution structure. It's more a series of vignettes. Amelia is missing and must be found, there are parties, and Saffie makes a random appearance before the big bang at the end.
This book would probably be very frustrating for anyone who hasn't read the other books. It really depends on readers knowing the characters.
I have it 5 stars because Emerson really turns into a badass in this book. She embraces her magic, makes her own badass weapon, and singlehandedly... Well, you'll have to read it.
There is a described sex scene, but that's probably not a problem if you made it through Bettina's series.
I didn't realize I needed this until now, I'm glad I read the novellas. Em is a total bad girl in the best way and she kicks butt amazingly. I love when she gods crazy. A small part of MD hopes to see her dark side tested but I would be more sad than anything so let's hope it never happens.
The school of shifters and witches is an awesome start to rebuilding the relationship between magical kind. Em and Deacon are pretty solid by this point and now it's just about their HEA as they finish up in NY.
This read more as a transition to season 3, an introduction to new story lines and an ending to some lives as a new chapter begins. The possibilities! SO many new series to delve into. I need it badly.
I enjoyed this book, but I'm sad that there are several story lines that are not resolved. There is another cliffhanger, but you need to read another series too Know how it is resolved. That series will not be completed until June. Books 1 and 2 are out though. I enjoyed getting to know each of the characters better, But I having the storyline focus on so many minor characters POVs was a little distracting. I really enjoyed the storyline, I enjoy the characters, But not quite a 5 for me. Tennessee and Teagan got their own series and it was focused on them. Bettina gotta a series and it was mostly focused on her. Emerson and Deacons series was mostly about them, but the time was split between several other characters. Looking forward to Sephies series.
I am blown away every time I read a new book by Chandelle. This world that she has created is so complex yet flows so smoothly that it feels real. These characters feel real.
With The Empire Witch there are dark and dangerous parts that have you on the edge of your seat, afraid to put the book down because you may miss something. Then there are parts that are so beautiful you're tearing up. I'm not crying, you're crying. Next thing you know you're slapping the person beside you (hopefully someone you know) saying HOLY S#!T DID YOU JUST SEE THAT?! By the end you're just like WHOA, I can't wait for the next one!
Another great book by this author. This was the third and final book in a side trip from the main series and took us on a journey with Deacon and Em. As usual there is a lot of action, but we also got to enjoy Christmas with the ‘family’ and New Year’s Eve in New York. The description was amazing of how the places looked and the people dressed, I felt I was there. We met many new characters so lots of potential for further novella series. Might I add that from someone who is reviewing several books at the moment, it was nice to have an intimate scene which produced strong feelings in me as a reader without the over the top description of every detail, I have an imagination.
Omg!! This book was everything I hoped it would be and more!! One of the best lines in the book: “What now?” Tenn answered on the first ring, his voice almost as rough sounding as Koth’s. Em exhaled loudly. “Listen, I don’t have pants on…just get over here.” I arched my eyebrows and blinked. “That’s how you say that?” She shrugged and went to hit the end call button when Tegan said in the background, “Babe? What happened?” “I don’t know, your sister doesn’t have pants on. Let’s go.” I mean when you read a line like that you just need to see what is going on! So much goodness and happiness. I love this season!!
Ok I am seriously in love with this authors writing style. Well developed characters, thrilling and heart wrenching story lines and wpic battles. Evertime a new book comes out I start the series again and fir some reason it never gets old. I have thorougly wnjoyed this epic ride and am very looking forward to the next nem series. My only gripe is that the time between each book is damn well frustratingly long. Be assured if you are just joining the craze. This is the last in this series so you get to read 'em all without waiting. Advise tho', start with The Coven series first.
It's just my opinion but I think that this is one of the BEST series out there. I have read this entire series and I can't get enough of it. The only thing that I would change is novellas, I really hate them. There is not enough time to get a good story, For me they leave me frustrated 😞and wanting more. Then I have to wait forever for a new book to come out. I can hardly wait for the next book to come out and I hope it's a big one with loads of magic, romance and snarky teenage antics. These books are so much fun to read and I am getting desperate for a new book.
Awesome to get Deacon and Emerson through all of this! Go New York! Can not wait to see what SOMA school is opened next. Hoping for England! Love the Saffie scenes running through. Still waiting on Frankie and Samatha!
Ok Have to pass on a little reality Been to NY to watch the ball drop Way too crowded No restrooms Figure everybody has diapers on from 6AM on So you can not go at 11 and expect to see Ryan or anything We went back to our hotel room to watch!
I really enjoyed this book. What a fabulous way to end this part of the series it made me laugh it made me cry it really took me on an emotional rollercoaster. The main characters have really grown through the series and this pinnacle was just amazing. I will say it got a little confusing here and there as some of what happens in this book overlaps with what we have seen before, but it was nice to see it from a different point of view. I liked that we also got to know some other characters and maybe future stories. Another hit can’t wait for season 3.
The shifter hunters were the ones who kidnapped Amelia and Landy. Koth and Tennessee take care of all of them. Koth sends 4 dragon guards to help protect the school and the shifters. One is Maddox, Landy's brother. He and Amelia have words, and when he touches her, her skin burns and a soulmate mark appears on both of them. Emersyn sees Saffie, but the seelie fae warriors kidnap her. The shifter hunters attack New Years Day, and Emersyn and The dragons defeat them.
Yet again another Amazing edition to the Coven book series
This book is set in New York at Christmas /New Years, central to the story is Deacon and Emersyn and the new school. They are kept busy with run away teenagers, shifters and an old enemy joining together with a new threat. I loved the continuation and strengthening of Deacon and Emersyn’s romance. Seeing the Coven have a lovely Christmas together was great. Such great action/fight scenes kept me on the edge of my seat. Can’t wait until the next book.
The Empire Witch (The Coven: School of Magical Arts Novella Book 3)
I absolutely loved 🥰 this book. I think it was just a bit shorter...
Not, sure what some people were talking about of the reverse harem I was looking for it, but it never came.
So much excited with SOMA, and so happy to see Deacons mom is actually a great person....
I am sorry to see the story of Em and Deacon come to an end.... but I’m sure they will bring another book/story!!!! Can’t wait to read more.. Definitely recommend this book
So much has been said about this serie, but the readers are always surprised by the journey that Chandelle provides us. This narrative keeps the fast pacing events, the wonderful scenarios and above all the great characters that by now we are so attached to. New York is the perfect city for this narrative, it’s as fast as the events and as beautiful as the relationship. Before the book comes to its end, we are already missing it. Thanks for this wonderful work, Chandelle.
As only Emersyn and Deacon can, they are tackling problems and throwing parties the best they can. This book will open doors, windows and portals to so much more. I love how this author uses these novellas to bridge the story lines. I can not wait to see what goes down with Safie. But I am just as excited for SOMA and the huge curve that has been thrown to Amelia!! An amazing read you will read cover ro cover with out stoping!
Chandelle does it again ❤! I have loved watching Em and D grow, not only together, but their personal growth too. It's been such a blast reading their story. Also, enjoyed the getting to know the characters introduced in this series. Amelia is a little spitfire, and I so hope we get to see more of her some day. Anyway, I totally recommend reading them if you haven't read all The Coven books already.
Emersyn and Deacon are some of my favorite characters, and I love these set of novellas that are a part of the COVEN's season's and their conclusion has me with mixed emotions. One being happy because =we get to continue on with season 3 Saffie's books and sad because I just love Emersyn and Deacon and cant get enough of them. Every one of the characters in this book old and new are just amazing I cant wait for the next season to start
Wow, so many secrets I am busting at the seems. I will not ruin it for everyone though. Finally we get to see Deacon & Emerson's relationship complete. As usual there are some hilarious moments in here. I love Landy & Amelia's relationship. The addition of 4 new shifters to the SOMA school is very cool. Can't wait to learn more about them. I hope these hunters are finally finished with trying to best the coven combined with the shifters. Now on to the next book so we can help Saffie.
