I felt sorry for the bad guy. His Mother totally did a number on him and it was sad when you put the pieces together. Sally was especially pathetic and I seriously almost cried over his past. He was damaged for sure. And he was crazy. I could totally understand it though. So pathetic looking for love and never finding it. Again very short read but I am still liking the series very much.
Langham and Oliver are back in this, the third of the series with a really interesting killer to investigate. The case is a little too close to home for Oliver when he realises he's getting messages from his work-mate Cheryl. She's still alive. But for how long?
We get to delve into the inner workings of the killer's mind, and what a strange and warped place it is. Affected by events in his childhood, he's looking for a woman who can give him something he never had.
As is usual with Emmy's work, the plot is dark and twisted, but in this case you can almost feel a degree of sympathy for the killer. In his mind he has a valid reason, and a need to do what he does.
I really like Langham and Oliver. They have a great rapport, and Langham's understanding of how Oliver is affected by what he sees/hears, increases with each case.
I'm really enjoying this series and looking forward to book 4.
Read this in one go excellent writing and very enjoyable. The characters are so.life like
you can imagine actually meeting them in everyday life. I am really beginning to appreciate this author and her style. never a dull moment throughout the story excellent endings where justice is served.
Third book in The Dead Speak series and it didn't fail to deliver. Luckily Oliver's abilities are getting stronger as Langham will need all the help he can get to catch the serial killer
These are the first of her books I have read and I absolutely love them! Starting on #4 , just hope when I go to a different series I'm not highly upset!
