Hawkins infuses his romances with the perfect amount of sweetness, spice, sarcasm, and swoon along with a little angst that make for riveting reads that rock readers’ worlds. Unprofessional is a fresh, flirty, and forbidden friends-to-lovers romance that is full of fire!!!
Unprofessional lured me from the very first page. The conversational style writing—so raw and real—CONSUMED ME!!! This sizzling and sugary story SEDUCED ME where I was under its spell.
Beautiful, brunette, green-eyed, and curvy Margo has maintained a platonic relationship with her hot best friend, Owen, for years...years!!! Owen with his tall, muscular body and dark hair. Owen who is a man-whore, sampling women like fine wine. Owen who has a huge heart. Owen who is all alpha and definitely delicious. Owen knows that his best friend is beautiful, but so off-limits, especially since Margo is his co-worker.

I loved the long history and connection between Margo and Owen, their fierce friendship was truly powerful and endearing. Though I would have loved to have seen more dialogue between Owen and Margo, and a heavier dose of feels, more emotions from these main characters.
J.D. Hawkins WOWs readers once again with witty writing that is raw with characters that feel real. Slaying both male and female viewpoints, J.D. Hawkins’ Unprofessional flows with a natural ease, so smooth and seamless. The catchy and conversational style of Unprofessional ENTICED and ENTERTAINED me. I CRUSHED on this office romance HARD! So, I'm super lucky and humbled to be apart of J.D.'s ARC team and am able to get his amazing books early. I've never been disappointed with one of his books so far, and this one didn't disappoint either. Actually, I'm pretty sure this is my favorite books of his thus far!
Owen and Margo are friends. Have been since college. Fast forward 8 years later, and they're now both working at TrendBlend, a popular website where they're both writers. They are probably closer than ever now since they pretty much share a desk.
They both find the other attractive, but have never acted on it since they both value their friendship. St. Patricks Day, a bar and some alcohol change that.
I'm not going to give spoilers away, but i absolutely loved Margo and Owen. Especially a drunk Margo when she's holding kittens. I'm pretty sure that Margo is my spirit animal.
Jax may have written a Friends to lovers book, something that's been done before, but he's put his own little spin on it, his own self into it. That's what makes it such a good one. The Friends to Lovers troupe is one of my all time favorites ever, and JD did it well. As always with JD, this is definitely a 5 star book, and one that I will most definitely recommend to anyone who will listen!

Unprofessional is by far is my favorite book by JD Hawkins. It's a friends to lovers romance with a twist and the right amount of angst. There are also some pretty funny moments too.
The struggle is real when you can't read a book fast enough. I read this in a day because I needed the HEA. I enjoyed the party animals turned grown-up story. The characters are relateable and have depth.
Owen and Margo have been friends since their first year in college. They were both party animals, drinking, dancing and having plenty of sex. Now it's eight years later and Margo has moved on from her partying ways. She's grown up and wants more out of life. Margo has big dreams of moving to NY and working for an upmarket magazine. She is also searching for a meaningful relationship, she's moved past just having fun.
Owen has a good job thanks to Margo. They work together side by side for Trendblend. Own hasn't grown-up as much, he continues to have fun, only looking for hook ups. Owen is a commitment phoebe. The exact opposite as his father.
Margo has no intentions of sleeping with Owen because she doesn't want to ruin their friendship. Even with the best of intentions Margo hooks up with Owen after a few too many drinks. Now how will they handle their friendship after the hook up? There's also a twist. They will also be starring in a online reality show dating other people. It gets very interesting.
I love how the relationship developed after eight years of friendship. It took some liquid courage to get them in bed together but it took a whole lot of processing to make it work. "Turns out some dreams are better than others." 5 Stars!

Whooaaa...this book gives "unprofessional" a whole new meaning!
HOT!!! And hot, and hot, and swoony....and did I mention HOT! Wowza, if all coworkers are like Owen, I'm thinking the entire female population would definitely enjoy going to work!
Unprofessional was a great friends-to-lovers/office romance! I LOVED the fact that Owen and Margo had an established relationship, prior to becoming coworkers. And the fact that neither one of them hid their true character from the other. Their chemistry was evident right from the beginning. 'Cause hello!....coffee! And once they caved and finally took matters into their own hands, literally, their chemistry went from simmering to explosive. But when their relationship turns from friends to lovers, it was totally understandable why Margo had reservations about Owen. He was a playboy, and it was obviously clear that "casual" was the only route he took. And with a chance at her dream job, Margo wondered if casual could work for her.
I really enjoyed this book. I did. But here comes the "but": being as close as friends as Owen and Margo were, best friends even, I didn't care for their lack of communication regarding their feelings, and Margo's job opportunity. 8 years is a long time to be friends with someone, and have the ability to tell them anything. So why now? Why hold back their real, deep feelings and emotions from each other?...when it should have been their top priority. I understand the fear of losing each other. But they already crossed that line by progressing their friend and professional relationship.
Overall, Unprofessional was a great book. It wasn't my favorite from JD, but it in no way will deter me from reading more of his books in the future. The story was entertaining, freaking sexy as hell, and had some fantastic comedy throughout...very charming!

There are those one-click authors who I know will not disappoint and J.D. Hawkins to me, is one of those authors. I am a fan and I have to admit that I do get all giddy when I find out he has a new release coming out soon and I have a early copy in my hands. In Unprofessional we have a friends to lovers story that is funny, sexy, and very hard to put down. This might just be my favorite so far.
Owen works side by side with his best friend Margo, they have been best friends since college so starting a relationship with her would be a very bad idea. Especially because he doesn't sleep around with co-workers. Don't get me wrong, Owen is a player and his sexual dominate side took me by surprise, let's just say he has a way of weakening any women's knees. I fell in love with his carefree attitude and his feelings for Margo are so well written that the emotions taking place in this slow tease of falling in love was felt in every word.
Margo is a beautiful, smart and ambitious woman who is going through a recent slump when it comes to men. Her dreams of having a long-term relationship and a job that will have her writing more than just reviews seems impossible, unless she puts herself out there. Maybe co-hosting with her best friend on his online dating reality show may be just what she needs.
It takes a few rounds of drinks on St. Patrick's Day to ignite the sexual chemistry that is between Owen and Margo. There is nothing unprofessional about this fantastic 5 star read.
It's extremely well written,the story flows very well throughout and the duel POV by both Owen and Margo gives you an insight in to both their feelings throughout the book.
I really enjoy reading J D Hawkins books and I loved Unprofessional so much I can honestly say that this book is my new favourite and I highly recommend you one click it as soon as you can.
This book is a mixture of friends to lovers and an office romance that will have you swooning away whilst reading it.
Owen and Margo have known each other 8 years since they met very eventfully during college and have remained friends throughout.
They started working together at Trendblend (I want a job at trendblend as it sounds fantastic) and that just made their friendship stronger.
Owen is a bit of a playboy with his stunning good looks and fantastic personality he has women falling at his feet.
Margo is a nerdy,sexy,funny, talented and intelligent young lady but is extremely unlucky in love (well you can't have it all,that would just be greedy)
A night of Tequila and kittens (which is so so funny and would totally be me) changes her life as she knew it and then a fantastic St Paddy's day seals her fate.
This story has everything you could possibly want from a 5 star book and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did.

I can honestly say without a doubt that this is my favorite JD Hawkins book to date. I have to be super honest here. I'm kind of a picky book bitch lately. I don't mean to be but a lot of books that everyone loves are kind of meh to me. So I almost worry a bit when I know an author and they give me an ARC. What if I'm just lukewarm about the book. I'm so happy to say that right from the get go I knew I'd love this book. It just had that flawless feel for me. I think I was at 29% when I had to message the author to tell him I was loving it.
This book is just a fun friends to lovers romance. The main characters Owen and Margo who have been friends for 8 years and also work together are super likable. They have great chemistry and friendship and may secretly have somewhat thought of each other in a more biblical sense on occasion. But Owen is a player and Margo has had a series of bad relationships. Then one drunken St. Patrick's day one thing leads to another and you know...
So let me just say JD has a real unique writing style that I feel like I could pick out anywhere. He is the king of metaphors in how describes things, which I really enjoy. He also really built the relationship between Owen and Margo just perfectly for me. And I have to say the sex scenes had the perfect build as well. Perfect amount of detail, not too rushed...I mean they were hot! Written in both POV. I'm actually surprised at how well JD does the female POV. I'm not sure why this surprises me. I just remember thinking that while I was reading,

Wow! This book was even better than I expected it to be and it's definitely my favorite of JD Hawkins' books!!
There was something in the writing this time that really made me feel everything that both Margo and Owen were feeling for each other. I loved the fast-paced, yet somehow slow-burning progression of their relationship because I never got the feeling that what was happening between them was too fast or too much.
Unlike most friends to lovers romances, the friendship between Owen and Margo was never anything more than purely platonic. Sure there was a physical attraction but there was never a thought for them to be anything more than wingmen for each other in college, and friends and coworkers after. There weren't lingering looks or endless pining for each other, it was more of a sudden realization of the strong sexual chemistry between friends and the breaking point where things got really good.
Even when they decided that they would just explore that chemistry between them with no strings, it never felt like they were instead just going out of their way to pretend there wasn't more between them, but rather that they were just exploring the organic connection between two people who spent years getting to know each other and that it finally clicked and morphed into something just a little bit more.
There's no secret tragedy or back story for either of them that's completely messed them up and doomed them for future relationships, just the regular bullshit that life hands everyone. Owen has a reputation for being a player but, thankfully, we didn't have to see that thrown in our face constantly, it was just implied. Of all of Hawkins' alpha males, Owen is my favorite because he never came across as crass or overtly macho. Instead he was respectful, caring and easy-going in public but knew exactly how to throw down behind closed doors. Motha-fucking swoon.
I sense something different in this story in regards to what it meant to the author while writing it. I felt more connected to these characters as a whole than in his previous books. Something about the way he wrote their story and the ease of which he sold them to me as people I know, or want to know, really left me feeling all kinds of giddy when I finished. This feels like the story he was meant to tell and I, for one, am glad to have had the opportunity to read it.

Unprofessional is my first ever J. D. Hawkins book, however it won't be my last. It's beautiful, sexy, and so well written. I liked how he was able to convey both pov's seamlessly. The story of best friends/co-workers to Lovers. One of my absolute favs to read. What happens to a friendship when those lines are crossed?
I loved the story of Owen and Margo. Their history, their friendship, and how it is able to prevail, even after so many years. What starts as something both Owen and Margo have fought so hard to deny, finally happens. And it's EXPLOSIVE!! Their sexual chemistry is SMOKING!!
I found both Owen and Margo's characters very likeable and interesting. I felt their love grow. And that epilogue, Loved IT!!! Unprofessional is a definite one clicker!

Be still my heart...I loved Owen and Margo together! Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and JD Hawkins nailed it with this office romance!
Owen and Margo have been friends since college and wind up becoming coworkers at TrendBlend after she helps him get a job there. A job that enables the two of them to remain as close as they've always been, but when a St. Patrick's day celebration results in a few too many free shots thanks to Margo's online celebrity status, the friendship card is challenged. A history of lingering glances and innuendo turns dark, and we see a side of Owen that is filled with heat and control and wonderfully dirty words. The only issue is, they've both vowed not to date coworkers, and neither wants to ruin the meaningful friendship that's blossomed over the last 8 years.
Part of the reason I live for the friends to lovers storyline is because there's already this history that lends itself to a budding relationship. An existing chemistry and level of comfort that allow for a soft touch or a dazed look through hooded eyes. Chemistry and comfort are something that our couple has in spades.
Owen, just wow! You would never think that underneath that cool, laidback exterior, there would be such a domineering persona when it came to how he commands himself in the bedroom. The sex scenes between him and Margo are scorching, especially the very first one. I found myself panting a little bit and fanning my face. The way JD wrote his hero was so endearing. He's such a great friend to Margo and really values that aspect of his life above so many other things. He shows great care and concern for her on such a genuine level.
I adored Margo. She's so smart and strong and gives as good as she gets when it comes to her encounters with douchebags. Her wit is off the charts, and I admire her level of confidence in who she is and what she wants out of life. She has so much integrity, especially when it comes to her craft. We should all strive for a level of passion in our work that invigorates others around us and has us excited about walking in each day.
If you haven't ventured to read any work by JD Hawkins, I'd start here. The writing is so smart and fun and you can just feel the tension pouring out of the characters.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Well, I am here to tell you that JD Hawkins has done it again! They're hasn't been a book yet that I haven't loved of his. So, many people will be telling you what the books about and some or a lot of people may even tell you more than you should know, unless of course that is what you want then read away.
As for me, well it depends on what I feel like doing that day and today is the kind of day that I can't put into words how great this book is, or it will turn into a book it's own self. So, instead of me breaking this AMAZING book down into little pieces, I thought I would just tell you to buy it instead and find out for yourself.
So, please make sure to check it out along with all his other books. You won't regret it, he just may end up being one of your favorite authors like he is mine.

DIRTY KNEES REVIEWS: Unprofessional by JD Hawkins 5 KNEES!
I just really love Mr.Hawkins and his books! They are so relatable and realistic and fun and humorous and just...a breath of fresh air if that makes sense. And this is certainly no exception!!!!
Margo and Own are best friends and coworkers trying to fight the intimate pull they have towards each other, not wanting to risk what could happen and ruin what they already hold dear. Will they fall into temptation and risk it all? Gotta read to find out but what I will say is IT.IS.FUN.TO.WATCH!!!
As I read this, the words had such a flow to them it played in my head as a movie that I couldn't stop watching!!! I could talk endlessly about this book but it would be riddled with spoilers so I'll leave it to you to see them first hand.
The only thing I didn't like about it is it had to end but every good thing comes to an end as the saying goes.

Unprofessional by J.D. Hawkins was in one word spectacular!!! Yes it was just what I need. It was a fun and sexy read from the very first chapter. I freaking loved Owen and Margo. Unprofessional is a friends to lovers story and I have to say I think it's his best work to date. I'm was already a fan of JD’s work and this one is my new favorite by far.
Owen is this hot manwhore who is afraid of commitment. The closest thing to commitment is his longtime friendship with Margo. They have been friends since college. Never wanting to cross the line they have remained good friends. They now work together and after one crazy drunken St. Patties Day night everything changes.
Margo is the kind of girl I would be friends with. She once was a college party girl turned serious career driven women. She knows what she wants and is on track to achieve her dreams. She's had a bad track record with men and she knows falling for her best friend/co-worker is a bad idea. However bad ideas always seem to happen when these two get together.

I love when an author develops a formula that works for them and that works for me. Never mess with the formula Mr. Hawkins!! UNPROFESSIONAL was one part redeemable manwhore, two parts good friends since college, and a whole lot of loving and denial going on. Add in the fact that Mr. Hawkins revealed that a true part of his and Mrs. Hawkins courtship was exposed in this story and I couldn't get my hands on it fast enough!!
Owen and Margo have known each other since college. In truth, at times, Margo played his wingman. They were both tearing up the sheets... just not with each other. During their 8 years of friendship, despite their obvious attraction to each other, they've never dared to cross the line. That is until one fortunate St. Patrick's Day, a drinking fest that changed the course of their relationship forever. While they tried to keep it casual, those pesky things called feelings kept getting in the way.
I think the only real issue I had with this story was the skepticism I had for the authenticity of their friendship. In all of its 8 years, they were unfamiliar with the interior of each other's homes. Margo had only met Owen's best friend, Manny, once. I felt that this friendship, no matter how much the characters tried to convince me of its depth and validity, was pretty superficial. They didn't really talk to each other about things that really mattered. Ah well, that was the only thing that bothered me and in the big picture, it was insignificant and didn't detract from my enjoyment of this story.
Margo was a sweetheart, if a bit naive. She was a bit too busy planning her life to actually enjoy it. Owen was such a lovable manwhore, but I really couldn't blame him for his actions. He was hot, single, and had every right to avail himself of a good time. I think what endeared him even more to me was how real he was. I absolutely enjoyed watching (reading) these two fumble through their casualness while trying to hide how serious their feelings were and how much they were affected by the other.
In the end, it's obvious that I loved this story and verify that it is another winner from J.D. Hawkins. He's a one-click author for me and I can't wait to see what he comes up with next!!

➦'Unprofessional' follows a pretty standard formula for a 'friends first' romance where two friends of opposite gender fall into bed with each other after having one too many drinks. The problem is they like it too much. Another problem is they work together.
➦Their work project is my favorite part of the book. It's quite entertaining. They set each other up for a date and then film those dates and release footage on their vlog. Some of those dates were hilarious and had me chuckling. I also enjoyed the jealous reactions from both the hero and the heroine.
➦This was an enjoyable office romance, in which the manwhore finally falls in love. I had no problem breezing through it, however, I wasn't invested in the characters completely as it felt like they were lacking depth.
➦In stories where best friends fall for each other I normally would expect flashbacks to the past to get a better idea of the relationship. I only remember one here and it was at the very end of the book. It felt like there wasn't much there but the sex, which was pretty hot, by the way, but I wasn't jumping up and down either. I don't think that I will remember these characters for a long time, there just wasn't enough there to make them stand out for me in the sea of other characters occupying my brain on a daily basis... :p
➦So, to sum it up: overall, this book has left a positive impression on me, and if you're looking for a fast sexy and fun read then you might enjoy this book!

When I read the blurb for Unprofessional I just knew I had to get my hands on this book. Which is weird because friend-to-lovers isn't a trope that's I'm a huge fan of. But something about this intrigued me, and not that I'm finished I'm so glad I decided to choose this book to read.
One, the cover is drool worthy and I want to lick those abs. Two, Owen and Margo were great characters that I enjoyed getting to know. And three, their connection was really sexy and I couldn't get enough of it. Owen was swoon worthy and I liked that he wasn't the stereotypical playboy. He could be sweet when it came to Margo, which I really loved seeing, and he was honestly just a really good guy.
Margo was ambitious and strived for more in her life, an attribute that I liked from her. I was a little nervous when we were first introduced to her character because I was worried she would end up being snobby, but that wasn't the case at all. She wasn't as easy going as Owen was, but that's why they worked so well together. He was the calm to her stressed.
Bottom line, I really enjoyed this story and trust me, it's as hot as the cover. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for an easy and hot read, and of course for fans of the friends-to-lovers trope.

Throughout their friendship, there have been numerous encounters where the two almost crossed the line to make their relationship something more and yet, both have tried to protect their friendship by keeping things professional at work and by remaining "strictly friends". When Margo and Owen are given a new assignment at work and the assignment requires them to date, other people, both begin to realize that what they have is definitely so much more than "just friends".

Told in dual POV, Unprofessional is a delicious steamy friends to lovers romance that office romance fans will love! J.D Hawkins takes full advantage of readers’ appetite for reality TV with his latest sexy romp, Unprofessional; a sexy friends to lovers story, oozing sexy scenes and romance.
The male protagonist dates beautiful women and then writes about it, that's his job and one he absolutely loves so when he's given the opportunity of turning this job into a reality internet show he jumps in with both feet taking his beautiful female friend with him as a co-host to date handsome men. The stage is perfectly set and all the ingredients in place for a story I felt sure I would love and whilst I appreciated certain elements, I found that in the main I was disengaged with the story and the characters and did not feel emotionally connected in the way that I like to be when reading.
Unprofessional, a tale of what happens when the internet's favourite playboy falls in love, has been loved by many readers and is certainly a very sexy read so if second chance love stories are your cup of tea then this story may be one you'd like to try.

Let me start out by saying that this is the first book I've read by J.D. Hawkins and the first full-length romance/erotica novel I read by a male author. I gotta tell ya, I really like this author's voice.
This is one of my favorite story-lines; when best friends cross that line and become something more.
I loved Owen and Margo's characters.
I really enjoyed the history they shared and the strong friendship they have, which is why they so strongly fight the attraction they have for one another.
Owen and Margo were smart, funny, and entertaining.
The story and writing were great.
The characters were likable, interesting and well developed, and I was engaged in the story right till the very end.
I highly recommend this book!

“Thank god you live on the ground floor,” I say, as I rummage for her keys in her bag with one hand while keeping her from falling with the other. It’s not that I haven’t been to Margo’s place before, but when we hang out it’s usually at work functions or the occasional bar, and at the moment I can’t shake the feeling that I’m intruding a little.
“You know, you’re really fucking hot,” she slurs, giggling. My cock stirs at the brush of her lips so close to my neck, her warm breath against my skin. I have to shake it off.
“And you’re really fucking drunk,” I reply with a forced laugh, as the key finally catches and I kick the door open.
“No…I mean it,” she says as I step into her apartment, still holding her in my arms. “You’re like…the most beautiful man.”
“That’s very sweet of you,” I say, as I open a few wrong doors (closet, bathroom) until I find her bedroom. I walk in and lay her down on the bed, then pull away, setting her bag on the night table. “You should probably just rest a bit, let it pass.” I unlace her boots and ease them off gently, setting them on the floor before straightening up to go. This feels familiar, although I haven’t carried a too-drunk Margo home from a party and put her to bed since our undergrad years. “You need anything? Water, or—”
“Yeah.” Margo smiles.
“What?”
Instead of answering, she mischievously beckons me closer. I look at her, dress rolling up around her thighs, twisting her body up in the sheets, my imagination starting to whirl a little.
“Come here!” she yelps impatiently.
This could mean trouble—the problem is, I like trouble. I groan and go nearer to the bed.
“Closer,” she giggles, and I’m taken with the smile, the way she grinds into the bed…
“What?”
Her hand pulls on my shirt, her smile goes and instead her mouth is open now, weakened like she’s preparing to kiss me. I could so easily fall into her here, so easily bring my mouth onto hers, put my own hands under her clothes. I can almost taste her, appetite stirring…
Except being a real man doesn’t just mean knowing when to make a move, it also means knowing when you shouldn’t.
“Nice try,” I say, pulling back.
Margo laughs and pounds her fists onto the bed with disappointment.
“But I need to see what’s under your shirt. You still got those Grand Canyon abs, I bet.”
“Ok. That’s my cue to go,” I say, half-out the door. “See you tomorrow.”
“No! Come on! Please! I remember the view was fucking amazing. Just a little peek. A tiny little peek for old time’s sake. Come on, Owen! Don’t be an asshole. You know you want to show it off.”
I look back at her, hand on the doorknob, and find myself laughing.
“Happy now?” I say, pulling up my shirt a little way.
Margo screams and falls back onto her pillows laughing.
“I knew it! Just as perfect as that night you got locked out of the girl’s dorm,” she says, as I close the door and leave.
When I get back to my car, I’m still smiling."

Color me surprised, coz I’m surprised!
I thought I get another book with manwhore hero and almost nun heroine, who was celibate for last century and pining for the hero.
NO! Thanks God! The MCs were equal!

They met in college and became friends,
They were equally attracted to each other but didn’t want to ruin their friendship,
so they both hooked-up with OP.
Also the heroine had ONSs! Yay!!! Finally a woman who accepted her sexuality! She dated exclusively the last years, because she wanted to have serious relationship. So the “wild” time was in college and then several bfs in “adult”-life.
OMG, finally the heroine who didn’t put her life on hold to wait for the hero, because she
a) wasn’t in love with him
b) had brain and was self-confident
c) had brain. Period!
I even had a feeling, that the hero was more attracted to her than she was to him :-)
It made me happy! :-)

Conflict at the end was ok. The hero came to her/chased her, and I liked it!
The hero wanted to ruin my happy bubble of friends-to-lovers by saying at the end he always loved the heroine, but after she didn’t say the same (just “I love you too” and not “I loved you for years” or similar) my bubble stayed intact!!!

J.D. Hawkins' delightful writing has done it again. Refreshing, relatable, passionate and highly entertaining, Unprofessional has officially climbed to my top reads of 2017!
What happens when the line between lovers and friends get's blurred?
Owen and Margo have been friends for many years. They work together at TrendBlend, both talented journalists, they get each other, they support one another. But one night changes everything. When they give in to desire their relationship is compromised. The attraction burns like an inferno but there are many things at stake.
Can they save their friendship or were they meant for something else?
What made the book for me was the characters. I loved their bond and how much chemistry they had! Their banter was delicious and the dual point of view moved flawlessly between our two characters.
Once I started it I was hooked. I highly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed. I cannot wait for more books by this author!

Sweet, light, fun read. But a bit tad too long. Dont get me wrong i like the whole package. Characters, story, chemistry, steamy sex. But i found the layer/ the depth of the stort is lacking.
If the story to be meant just for sweet, uncomplicated, then the lenght should ve shorter. The long emotional journey for the both characters to realize that they belong together is just too long. Long without any serious layers to it.
But overal it is a decent read. For lazy weekend, this book hits the spot.

La stalker que llevo dentro me incita a "investigar con estilo" el nombre del modelo de la portada... pero me voy a contener.
Estoy en "abstinencia" y ya no hago eso🙅🏻🙅🏻🙅🏻
Claro que si me lo dicen por privi, ya no es stalkeo ¿no? hahahaa
Me gustó mucho más de lo que esperaba. 😍 es una lectura ligera y sin pretensiones.
Si buscas una novela profunda con personajes inolvidables definitivamente no es está. Pero si quieres algo divertido, fresco y friends to lovers que te enamore de a poco con escenas románticas y sexy time es totalmente el libro indicado.
Los personajes no tienen mucha sustancia y la historia no es nada del otro mundo. Es cliché y muy simple pero a mí me gustó mucho.

Owen and Margo are friends since college and they are also co-workers the last year. They stick to their friendship and don't want to make it complicated by being together. Their boss, assigns them the new project; going on dates with people and then comment about it in front of the camera. However, they both struggle with themselves in order to achieve it and not reveal their true feelings.
I have read in the past books from J.D. Hawkins and I like his writing style and the way his stories are developed.

Stop right here if you want something light and entertaining. J.D. Hawkins knows how to make his readers have a good time that's for sure.
Margo & Owen are fun, uncomplicated and falling in love was evidence. Being friends for so many and working together, you could say they know each other pretty well. They often talk about their "adventures" but recently Margo wants more than the fun for herself. She wants to find a job where she would show her real skills and she doesn't want to party as much as she did. Unfortunately finding the right guy is not that easy.
Life is happening and next thing Margo & Owen know they are in each other arms. While Owen is all for the fun, even if it's highly against his own rules not to mentioned unprofessional, Margo is more reluctant.
Friends to lovers trope is really one of my favorite trope these days because I find it highly delightful to witness how it can all fall apart and how MC are doing their best to resist but love always win.
As much as I enjoyed seeing Margo & Owen in each other pants, I equally loved their time as friends. Their bond is genuine and they definitely should have crossed the line way sooner. I wanted the story to be a little longer, the end comes too soon and a little too convenient for my taste.
That being said, I wouldn't miss this new addition in J.D.'s books. This author never stops to surprise me. I never really know what I'm going to get except for the fun and sexy times. I could recommend all his books for entirely different reasons and IMO that's what makes a good author. In other words, read his books if you haven't while I'll be waiting for my next fix.

Unprofessional de J. D. Hawkins narra la historia de Owen y Margo, ademas de ser mi primera lectura de la autora, a quien no conocia hasta ahora.
Para ser una novela de Friends To Lovers no me encanto tanto como espere al leer la sinopsis pero si es cierto que resulto ser el tipo de libro que necesitaba en este momento.
Despues de leer dos novelas muy emocionales y desgarradoras ( The Law Of Moses y The Song Of David * llora en un rincon * ) necesitaba una historia de este estilo : ligera, sencilla y sin grandes complicaciones y Unprofessional no pudo haber sido una mejor eleccion.
Lo que no me convencio al 100% fue la rapidez con la que se desarrollo la relacion de los protagonistas, aunque habian sido amigos desde hace años, yo extrañe mas escenas sustanciosas y no tantas de lujuria, pero como ya digo, en general fue una buena historia.
En fin, un libro ameno y muy fluido para leer en cualquier momento, no es la gran historia pero suma puntos al ser tan grata de leer.
