While the anime and volume 3 of this series has been a fairly light-hearted harem adventure, I was surprised to find myself entirely absorbed in this installment as more mysteries are unveiled and worldbuilding expanded, and hey...they own a country now?!
A lot happens in this volume and a new fiancee arrives! It's still light, but I love watching...er, reading everything unfold as more creativity with magic and the smartphone is explored.
I'm also still blown away by all the western references in these pages.

Mochizuki Touya aids the Regulus Empire, finds another piece of Babylon, becomes the ruler of a new kingdom, and more in the fourth volume of the light novel series. The book still has comical characters and situations, so I am eager to start the next volume once I arrive home.

This one just felt a little more aimless, a little more sloppy narratively, and strangely more homophobic than the previous novels. It wasn't entirely boring, but there wasn't a lot here interesting either.
Which is weird when you consider the book has an attempted military coup, 2 adversaries that give Touya a run for his money, and a new heroine.

Much like previous volumes, slow paced slice-of-life, entertaining but with the MC breezing through various challenges and events. The characters and story is entertaining to me, although with little depth, at times a bit predictable and lacking tension. Not the best in the genre, but a decent enough read.

Things are heating up
My only two complaint is the wasted subplots. I get that the mc is op but come on the author could stand to make an arc or two. Other then that the girls are getting forgotten and that's a no no. But the story is still interesting.

Keeps getting interesting
If you don't mind overpowering main characters with a harem, this is a good series. It's getting a little more mature in its language, hence 4 stars, but I'm anxious to see where the story goes and how the group will overcome their next challenge.

Better and better.
In this volume, lots of things are happening and our hero has his work cut out for him.
Phrase are becoming more of an issue.
A country is in the midst of a military takeover and Touya is there.
Of all of the first fifteen books, this is the best of the bunch!

Enjoyable continuation.
All the mains are back and new characters appear.
Mochizuki’s fame wealth and power, as well as harem, grow as expected.
If you enjoyed the first three, this is more of the same.

Getting better, I liked how the short stories tied in better to the main plot. Although I wish they spent as much time on his other betrothed girls and not just Yumina.

Great Addition to the Series Again!
Volume 4 was amazing. Could hardly tell a difference between it, and the web novel. Excited to start reading book 5.

I love the missing pieces from the anime. There are several questions answered here in the novel. I love how Touya keeps being dimwit about small things.

This one builds the world with another kingdom and a coup d'etat.

It's good. This is the first book I finished in 2025 and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
