Her Worst Mistake is the sixth book in the Rosemary Run Series of domestic thrillers.
Kelly Utt writes novels about life, love, and the choices that shape our destinies. The stakes are high. The emotions run deep.
Kelly was raised by a dad who would read a book, ask her to read it, too, and then insist they discuss it together, igniting her passion for life's big questions. That passion is often reflected in her novels, giving them a depth which leaves readers wanting more and thinking about her stories long after the last lines are read.
Her earlier works—like the Rosemary Run, Hideaway Isle, and Appleman's Gap series—focus on family secrets, suspense, and psychological twists. Her newest novels, including Sierra Oscar Sierra and What’s Left to Burn, delve into cosmic love stories with high-stakes romance.
In her free time, Kelly enjoys travel, great books, and good food, along with movies, music, and social media. She is a founding author of My Book Friends, a vibrant reader community dedicated to connecting authors and book lovers. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband and sons.

I’m going to agree with everyone else on this one. It is an interesting story that keeps you reading because you want to see the outcome. But keeps you wondering why would someone let this happen to them and what was the main character’s purpose for what he did? Haven’t read any other book in this series.
The book was different than expected, however if you like watching true crime documentaries and being informed about the various evils hidden in society, this book is informative. This traumatic journey of Amelia Baker is fast paced and short, just felt the book ended suddenly. But that's just how involved the book kept me.
Too much telling about what happened rather than story and characters unfolding in a way the reader can read and figure things out themselves. Several events came across as too easy and convenient.
I think the flashbacks could have been done without but the present timeline was awesome. It made your heart race and break. Plus I loved seeing all the characters from previous novels.
A Rosemary Run Thriller series, Book 6, tells of disparate gal-pals Rebecca and Amelia, on holiday from rural town, Rosemary Run, in the bright-lights city of Las Vegas. Amelia gets involved with a man called Michael in a bar while drunk and from there on, her life flips into a nightmare of abuse and control, much worse than she's ever known before.
Told in two intermingled timelines, (labeled on each chapter for clarity) over the course of a year, the story reveals how Rebecca tries to help her friend escape from the trap she's existing in, at the mercy of a man who said he loved her, but is so jealous, violent and controlling, that she's virtually a prisoner, ashamed to admit the truth to almost everyone. Can Rebecca contrive to save Amelia's life and sanity? What hold does Michael have over Amelia?
A desperate chase after an abduction by the man who pretended to love her, friends and residents of Rosemary Run and most of all her bravery, sees Rebecca hoping to save Amelia from a lifetime of pain and misery. A riveting, true-to-life tale of how self-worth can sometimes be absent and how true friends know us better than we know ourselves!
After reading this book one can definitely say 'What happens in Vegas definitely didn't stay in Vegas.' Such an unimaginable experience! Everything was spinning out of control for Amelia. This smart, attractive pediatric nurse lived on the edge one too many times. I don't usually like a book that jumps from the present back to the past over and over again, but in this particular case, it seemed to work. This book was a fast read and kept my interest, however, I just can't imagine anyone this well educated and aware of life's realities being so easily charmed. Oh well??
If you like the Rosemary Run series by this author, Her Worst Mistake, is a great addition. It adds yet another element to the psychological definition and description of the town and its residents.
An idealistic young woman is motivated, captivated, and manipulated by a handsome and seemingly charming man. What can go wrong? Quite a lot if you think about it. It’s an intense, emotional, heart-wrenching story that keeps you hanging on every development.
Name of Book: Her Worst Mistake Name of Author: Kelly Utt Review by: Yumna Mahmood The book, “Her Worst Mistake” is actually a book that highlights how wrong a woman like Amillie did and could do behind lust for a man like Michael and end up crying over her worst mistake which at a time is submission to Michael and rejection to Troy's proposal, her Ex. Other important deed displayed by the characters namely, Rebecca and Troy is true friendship that is comforting in the tense situations Amillie has been experiencing. A book packed with tragedy and friendship. Vivid!
A naïve and trusting Amelia meets who she thinks is the man of her dreams. But she soon finds out he is anything but that. He is abusive, controlling and manipulative. Her best friend and the whole town of Rosemary Run rallies together to save Amelia from this terrible relationship, but can they do it in time to save her? Interesting story about how a manipulative man can control a young, trusting woman and if she can escape from him. I received an ARC.
Her Worst Mistake tells the story of Amelia's worst mistake. Everyone makes them but not as badly as Amelia's. Her's is a violent story of abuse. This is the second book I've read by Kelly Utt about Rosemary Run. It's a good series of short books taking place in Rosemary Run, California. I'm assuming a fictional town. The psychological thriller has a few of the usual errors but I was so caught up in the story I could almost ignore them.
Cannot believe this is book 6, I have not read any of the series (& glad I haven't by this rubbish). Some dark themes but they make NO sense at all, the people are amazingly good looking & have brains (given the career she has) yet she knows what has happened to her & she ends up with the dude for a while year NOPE no sense at all, the only saving grace was it was quick to finish I read this in one sitting but felt me feeling annoyed before I went to bed! Poor writing will not try anymore.
Amelia Baker runs away from Troy after having a miscarriage. She and her best friend, Rebecca, got to Vegas for a vacation. Amelia falls for Michael's charms. Michael drugs Amelia and tells her they are married. Amelia does not remember much from the night before. Michael wants to use Amelia to hide from his criminal behaviors. I could not put this thriller down. I read it in one sitting.
Her Worst Mistake (Rosemary Run Book 6) by Kelly Utt is a very amazing story to read. This is book number six out of ten in this amazing series that I am so hooked on and can not wait to read the rest. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about thrillers.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
A troubled women meets a man that is her worst nightmare. You keep wanting her to get away. I was up reading til 3am to see what would happen. Don't be out smarter by a guy like this ladies.
I loved this book. It kept you on your toes constantly. It also focused on real life. Making you realize that these horrible things actually happen. Thank you for focusing on that.
Kelly Utt has a talent for writing unique characters, placing them in dire circumstances, and making the reader care what happens. This book is fast paced, emotional, and an excellent read!!
Don’t be put off by the fact that this story is less than 200 pages...it still has the desired effect and packs a lot of information into this tale which was hard to put down.
Second book I’ve read of Kelly Utts and both I gave one star.
I don’t like the style she uses when characters are talking. For example when the restaurant owner got up and started speaking to make a plan and the customers got talking it was just wrong. People don’t talk like that. “I’m the owner I will lead and make a plan” Nah
The other book(can’t even remember its title) the mother was so up herself and looking down on people and the father saying things like, son your a leader, lead us now. Really!! And the four adult kids OMG.
Characters where not believable and people don’t talk the way she writes.
The ending was just a summary of how the drama ended. It’s like she didn’t know how to finish so just summarise the ending.
Sorry but won’t be reading anymore books by Kelly Utt
I like this series and usually enjoy this authors work. I didn't feel like this book was up to the authors usual high standards. It wasn't one of her best efforts in my opinion. The storyline was interesting but it felt drawn out and probably could have been half the length. There were old favorites from previous Rosemary Run books which definitely was a positive element.
Amelia knows she's in trouble when she awakens bruised and battered with no memory of what happened. She discovers she's married to a man she doesn't really know and things only get worse from there.
I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.
This has the possibility of being developed into a good novel with some work and a great deal of fleshing out. Too long to be a short story but not developed enough for a good novel. The final pages, though they wrapped up with resolution, felt choppy and unsatisfying. I would love to see how these notes could be completed.
Very disappointing! Poor character development, implausible plot, anticlimactic ending. The writing feels sophomoric. The characters are supposedly educated, yet can’t make a rational decision. Don’t waste your time or money.
This started out out great. Very descriptive so I could picture what was happening, but ending was very abrupt. I feel this could have been more in the 250-300 page range if the last 30% of the book was more embellished.
