Once again this author delivers another awesome book. The characters are well developed and engaging and the chemistry is strong throughout the pages. Storyline flowed smoothly from start to finish.

December 11, 2019We have a stack of short-short romances with the common thread of not-lovers becoming lovers of one kind or another.
Rather than spoil the plots of the individual entries (how much can you describe the plot of a 20-30 page story without spoiling) I'll mention the tropes involved and address the author's handling of the stories.
Friends to lovers - Musicality - Gloria and Dawson
Each of the friends have developed strong romantic attraction to the other, but lack the self-confidence to explore the relationship. There's some well-written angst, the expected "almosts" and the eventual coming together. Once the pair starts getting physical they are all but unstoppable. We don't have the pages for a lot of character growth, but the necessary recognition at long last of their attraction is handled very well. 5/5 for me with admiration of the author's ability to distill the story to it's essentials without losing continuity and reader's enjoyment.
Can't resist temptation presented on a platter - Try Hard - Jayda and Christian
This is the shortest entry and arguably the hottest. The pair have been friends for a very long time when Jayda buys a piece of apparatus which she demonstrates to Christian. Neither one can resist the resulting steam and they get very hot very fast. The steam level was very satisfying to this reader. Another 5/5 for the transition from level friendship to soaring passion.
Roommate BFFs to committed lovers - Watch and Learn - Pauline and Desmond
This pair does not recognize anything other than a strong, platonic friendship at the start of the story. In the spirit of curious discovery, Pauline watches some videos, which she enjoys. She convinces the somewhat reluctant Desmond to watch some with her. In the spirit of ancient paper comics, !POW! *Ka-BLAM* ==ShaZam==! Their transition into Best Lovers Forevermore is rapid, to say the least, and handled quite impressively. Another 5/5 for execution even though you'll know the detailed plot as soon as Pauline starts watching.
Rescuing the damsel - Coming Home - Helena with Jayden
Helena buys a somewhat decrepit, but cheap, house. She lacks the skills and aptitude to do repairs and improvements herself, so her real estate agent hooks her up with Jayden of Jayden Grange Homes. Romantic tension in this story grows slowly and smoothly. The reader is awaiting the event or realization that will allow this pair to come together. I rated this story 4/5 as it was a disappointment, not a victory, at the end.
Friends with benefits - Sweet Nothings - Pauline and Kirby
Here we have a couple who have a conflict-free and rather satisfying sexual relationship. That's a darn wonderful thing to have. But, should they want more? Do they want more? Does the reader care? I didn't. Also, I never figured out whether this Pauline was the same Pauline as the Pauline in "Try Hard" before or after a makeover. 3/5 for no impetus, but still readable.
Taken as a whole I have a 21/25, a pretty solid 4-star rating. If you'd like to read it as a 5-star, just skip the last story.

Wrap it up! Jennifer delivers one eclectic mix, revving it up and laying it out, spinning instant gratification to unbelievable limits, fusing this baby together piece by piece. Jumping hoops, traversing the trials and tribulations, riding roughshod, tossing out a slew of plot twists and sharp turns, testing our characters in ways they never saw coming. Well rounded scenario's that punch dead center with such skill, catapulting this baby to life flawlessly. The dynamics rule as each layer is peeled back exposing an undeniable bond, revving up the chemistry and amplifying affections. The personalities are well matched and blended with enough flaws for diversity. The characters and scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and colorful descriptions so rich and lively, they blend and flow beautifully. Fantastic job Jennifer, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.

To me this book is two short stories and three sexual encounters. I liked the first story and the fourth stories because they had the most character development and weren't all about hooking up, although there were a couple of things in each one that I wish had been explained a little better. The other three stories seemed to lack substance and seemed to be all about the characters sleeping together. It was like you were dropped into the middle of the story without much warm up. The last story I was really lost on just how the two characters knew each other and what they did together outside the bedroom. Although the stories aren't that long, it took me awhile to read it because I kept losing interest and would have to take a break from reading.

Friends to lovers and if that does not work out then you ruin a good friendship over an attraction. 5 short stories to test the limits of friendship to become more than friends. HOT! HOT! HOT! Jennifer was able to give a different story with different circumstances to see how each group of friends were going to overcome their awkwardness to rally on for a happy ever after. I was truly entertain with this book and its stories. Great job on another great book.

Jennifer Hartley has an amazing ability to reach in and captivate your interest in her stories. You’ll feel a connection with each of her characters, even if you dont like them, and you’ll cheer the ones you do! Five amazing stories to read. Enjoy!

It was a collection of five stories. Not all of them were that good (that's why only three stars ✨) but I enjoyed reading so I count it as a win. Friends to lovers books what showing us love sometimes just creeping up on you and not knock you off your feet

This was a nice collection of Jennifer Hartley stories, each story was different and the story differed in writing, story development and character development. There's something in it for everybody.

Enjoyed this book. They have lots of chemistry, but both had some things to work through. What started out as friends became so mush more. Happy ever after for them. Enjoyed the short stories as well. Five stars from me

This was an interesting set of short stories of couples who can't resist temptation. Each story has a different set up for temptation. They are all interesting and have great characters but are too short. It was a quick read.
