Every boy needs a pup. Why would Daniel be the exception?
Luke Bateman works in the high-powered tech world, for one of the fastest-growing companies in the country. He loves what he does but, at the end of the day, he likes to embrace his favorite role of all, being a Daddy for his boy. He would do anything to keep his boy feeling safe and loved, even if that means bringing in a third.
Daniel Hawkins fights the good fight every day in his job as a public defender. He makes a difference in his community and would have it no other way, but his career weighs heavy on him, and sometimes he needs to let his adult life slip away and be Daddy’s boy, where all worries are gone and he can just be loved and cherished. He loves his Daddy more than anything, but something is missing in their relationship...he can’t place his finger on what.
Ryder Meyers has always known a traditional relationship wasn’t for him, but working his way through med school didn’t allow him the time to explore what that might mean for him. One night at the club Collared is all it takes for him to find out: he is a puppy. But what is a puppy without a master?
A date night at Collared turns out to be so much more than just that for Luke and Daniel. When they meet Ryder. Daniel feels an instant connection, asking his Daddy for a puppy, unknowing that Luke is on the same page. But when a third gets in the mix, and Daddy needs to take on a dual role as Master for his pup, things get complicated in the most beautiful of ways.
A Puppy for His Little is an MMM romance focused on the true love that blooms between Daniel, Luke, and Ryder. If you enjoy true love, a Daddy and Master who would do anything for those entrusting him with their care, age play, ABDL, puppy play, and watching three men create their family, then this book is for you.
The blurb caught my eyes. never had I ever read something so fast. I love these kind of tropes, established couple, ageplay + newbie puppy, and poly??? damn, lucky day.
I enjoyed this better than the last few books by this author. This was entertaining, but the fade to black sex kinda ruin the mood. Also it was getting so excited that the book ends lmao
A Puppy For His Little - Della Cain Collard By Love series Book #1 3.5★ "Every boy needs a pup. Why would Daniel be the exception?" It's a short book so I could finish it in less than a day. I understand those folks that are sometimes "Littles", but I have to admit that I don't understand the "Puppy play" lifestyle.... but those that want and need it...go for it! One of the characters was an attorney, and the other one, his husband, was a Software Executive and the "puppy" was a doctor, when he wasn't being a puppy. The characters were beautiful, and I really like their interactions with one another ...but the one thing I have learned reading BDSM is that that there are indeed more "things between Heaven and Earth"... "A Puppy for His Little" is an MMM romance focused on the true love that blooms between Daniel, Luke, and Ryder. If you enjoy true love, a Daddy and Master who would do anything for those entrusting him with their care, age play, puppy play, and watching three men create their family, then this is for you. I was curious enough to want to explore more so I bought the other two books in the series. Just for the record...I don't need a puppy.)
Not quite sure where I stopped reading, but I did.
People just don't talk without using contractions. "You are not as funny" and "I will" and ""it is only" - I mean, just the dialogue felt all off with how it was written.
And I've read stories with littles and daddy and pups but just something about the beginnings of things here, it just didn't work for me. Moving on to the next one.
This wasn't what I expected. Totally brought daddy into a whole new level. I'm totally mind blown with how it works and even after finishing it, I feel like there is something deeper about it. Am very happy to see how these three sync with each other in the end.
Books about Daddys and their Littles are usually hit and miss for me. I thought this one would be interesting because of the established couple bringing in a third who likes to be a puppy.
I wanted more connection. Luke and Daniel are married and in love, but I didn't feel much other than their little/caregiver roles. When they bring Ryder in, it seemed so clinical...I don't think they even kissed. I just needed more...
Oh my heart! Thank you so much, Iman! This was such a sweet book😍. Initially I wasn't sure I'd be able to connect with the characters as age-play was a very new concept for me, but soon it became apparent that I didn't just love Daniel, but also adored Danny! This book was alllll vibes for me with: ♡ A sweet Daddy ♡ His bratty, naughty but equally cute and adorable boy. ♡ A confused and new pup. ♡ Pre-established couples. ♡ Poly. ♡ Healthy communication and praise kink! ♡ Discovery of love. This book also reminded me of NRW's Sir, so if any of those sound pleasant to you, give this a try!
A Puppy for His Little is the first book in the Collared by Love series by Della Cain. This is an MMM romance that combines a sweet story of true love and the sexy kink ofthe Daddy/Boy/Pup dynamic. There is age play and puppy play involved but not in an overpowering amount that overshadows the sweet relationship development.
Luke, Daniel, and Ryder are fantastic characters - they have chemistry, a connection that felt real and smooth. I liked how they interacted with each other, trying to figure out how they might fit in with each other. There was a sweetness, along with their sexiness. The story had me feeling happy and wanting to read more from this author and series.
I liked the idea of the story, but something just seemed off about it to me. Maybe I'd feel differently if it was longer and the characters had been fleshed out more. I know what they all do for a living. I know that Ryder was a sub, though the puppy thing was new, I think? What I thought would be cute - a little wanting a pup - felt stilted. I simply didn't feel these guys together. Daniel/Danny and Luke, sure. Ryder added to the mix? No.
A couple of other things that bugged me were the lack of capitalization for Dom and the lack of use of contractions, mostly during dialogue. It read funny to me.
I liked Daniel as Danny. I loved his excitement over getting a puppy. I liked Luke well enough, but he gave in to Danny a lot of times, making himself look less like a Daddy and more like a pushover.
Not a bad story. I just felt that it needed more.
Edit: I just discovered that Luke, Danny, and Ryder's story continues in the next book so I'm sure the questions I ended this one with will likely be answered at some point. I'm not a fan of series that go into several books with the same main characters so I'll likely give the next one a pass.
This is the sweetest book. I saw the title of this book and knew I wanted to read it. I love age play and puppy play books. If you enjoy puppy play and age play w/ABDL and a sweet caring daddy you won't want to miss this book. In this book Daddy Luke cares for his husband Daniel, Danny when he's being little. One night at the club they attend they meet Ryder, a new pup in need of a master, I love watching their dynamic as all three find where they fit into the relationship. I love how Daddy Luke thinks he's in charge. This is the first book from this author and I highly recommend it. I can't wait to read more about these wonderful characters.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Read for the novelty of pet play and a physician character. I liked the balanced dynamics. Nothing bad enough to justify a lower rating and delivers exactly what you expect. Each book in the series is short enough that all of them together would equal one 300 page novel.
Huh. It was short and slow. I liked it. Usually not one for daddy kink but it works with the age play and although that weirded me out at the start, the relationship was sweet and I liked how it grew with a new addition. I also liked how there are two sides to each of them, the professionals at work and then the stress relieving BDSM. Multiple POV. It was a cute MMM story. I’d read the sequel.
Enjoyed the dynamic that these three men had. I wish she would have started with Luke and Daniel's story then progressed to Luke, Daniel and Ryder. Looking forward to the next book!
My first 'Bookstagram made me so it'. I demolished this trilogy in two sittings. They are short (perhaps a little too short!) and immensely sweet, surprisingly so actually, much more so than I expected. I fell in love with Luke, Daniel and Ryder as a throuple. I don't even know what to put in this review, lol. It's either going to be something that sparks your curiosity or not, and that's totally cool! The dialogue is oddly stilted at times, so I just pretended everyone was speaking more like human beings actually do xD other than that, the dynamics and healthy communication and exploration and safety and love above all else was such an unexpected pleasure. I think I have a 'being cared for' kink lmao, is that a thing?!
Good start to what will hopefully be a few more books. Love a good threesome and the dynamic here was very unique and cute!
Probably rushed the transition from being interested in each other to becoming a continued threesome, but I didn't mind for such a short book. Will definitely continue reading more books with these three.
Luke and Daniel have been a couple for ages, and when they go to the club on an Auction Day, they meet Ryder, who both are attracted to. After a fun night together, they part ways with no way to contact the other. Daniel takes the initiative and contacts the club owner to pass their number to Ryder. The three start discovering how a little, puppy and daddy can all create their own family.
Each of the three men has their own issues that they slowly start to work on, but this ends with an HFN, and the relationship building carries over into the following two books. Overall, it was a sweet and quick read.
MMM,hea, daddy/Little/pup, older professionals triple pov Spice: low Angst: zero This book does a good job of showing a relationship beginning more organically. Ryder meets Danny and Luke at an event inside a BDSM club. everyone magically hits it off and they go from there. My issue with this book was that it felt very quick which makes sense because it's a short book but it rushed to the sex and I didn't like that but other than that it was okay.
i love this.. it was so sweet and interesting.. it had some spots i worried about but then it was all brought together beautifully.. i cant wait to see what is next..
The writing is so stilted. I can’t imagine talking without ever using contractions. We shall continue… we would like… Come on! We’ll… We’d… I know that’s a weird thing to get hung up on, but it was bugging me enough to toss me out of the story.
Second Reading: Going back to reading this started kinda strangely. First, I started reading another of the author's books Purple Rein. When the club Collared is mentioned I thought maybe there were other connected books that came first. It seemed like the Collared Ever After series was a good place to start so I started reading Litigation and Lace. But dangit if that book didn't keep referencing back to these books!
I never read the third book in this trilogy. Its more a trilogy than a series. Really, it should just be one danged book. Anyway, with that in mind, I started reading it again. I decided to change my rating from two to three stars. It really isn't a bad book. I'm not sure why it doesn't resonate with me. I guess I just don't feel attached to the characters.
First Read-through: Considering the subject matter, this book was pretty boring. It also felt like coming into the story halfway through. It was so short I don’t understand why the author didn’t add more detail to it.
Luke Bateman works in the tech world and whilst he loves what he does his preferred role is being Daddy for his boy (and husband) Daniel. Daniel Hawkins is a public defender but that career lays heavy on him and so he needs to let his adult life slip away from him and sometimes be Daddy's boy Danny. As much as he loves his Daddy he feels that there is something missing he is just not sure what. Doctor Ryder Meyersknew a regular relationship is not for him but on a night at the kink club Collard realises that he is a puppy - he just needs a master. When Luke and Daniel meet Ryder Daniel feels an instant connection and so asks his Daddy for a puppy meaning that Luke will need to be a Daddy and a Handler.
I enjoyed this novella with the story about how they met and how solid the marriage between Luke and Daniel was. I liked the way that all three of them were attracted to each other and that the trust between Luke and Daniel meant that it did not destroy things between them both. I enjoyed the focus on emotions and relationships and how it was all going to work at a level that was far more detailed than some kind of instalove. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MMM book with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB relationship with ABDL and a D/s relationship with puppy play.
To my ratings: A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year), it's like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok) It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
