wish I could give a 1.5 anyway I read this as a joke and cuz of the webtoon adaptation and the book was so ass so brainrot yet I still ate it up so I guess that's something but again there were many plot holes and the brother had absolutely no character he was just there the dad too, there were so many characters like that and there were so many unnecessary paragraphs I skipped a lot it could've been a much shorter book. It was very predicatable but I suppose I like that with these types of books. There's so many things that didn't make sense but you don't really read a book like this for it to make sense. It was entertaining but dont read it expecting Shakespeare!! The webtoon is much better

Well, this is clearly a Wattpad story and I honestly feel like that’s enough of a statement to summarize the whole book and enough to tell whether you’ll like it or not.

Everything is so revolved around the main character that every other character besides, maybe the love interest, feels like a plot device or opportunity to show how special the main character is. The one time he faces genuine consequences for his terrible actions is when his best friend “abandons” him because he cheated with the best friend’s boyfriend. This is, of course, resolved by being gay publicly. Forget the fact that she feels like his shadow and that she’s never considered as a person beyond being his friend or how he betrayed her trust multiple times. He’s gay — that’s all that matters now.

To be fair, the punishment for attempted murder and having a collection of weapons made solely to kill a certain group of beings is having you toss out the weapons and no Xbox for the week. Prison is preposterous. He would easily escape prison, quick don’t let him go to any college parties this semester. That’ll teach him. You’re telling me they just… don’t have any form of imprisonment for supernatural creatures because it’s difficult? How is this society run? This is possibly the most interesting thing that happens in this book. And who really cares that you murdered your own brother when you can be gay? Trauma clearly doesn’t. He was definitely radiating heterosexual vibes, anyway.

I really enjoyed this! it was funny every now and then with the snarky comments between Mason and Kieran, had the typical 'enemies to lovers' in high school form, The perfect plot twist with Cedric and Mason (i actually cried for Mason and Kieran). And the ending was absolute cinema with Maria finding out about all three of them and the classic cut off. Would 100% recommend to anyone who likes this genre!!

I read this after reading part of the Webtoon. The Webtoon is so much better. This book obviously is a Wattpad novel, and it reads like one. There's a lack of editing, fine-tuning of plot, etc. It was fun though, and I did read it relatively quickly. I don't think I would've finished it or picked it up without first seeing it as a comic though. I did find a lot of parts boring or slow.

won't be rating this one bc it would have to be a one star and i dont want to do that😔 it's as wattpad as it gets, following all the typical schemes and possesing this special flatness of the setting, characters, action... not to mention the actual typos and massive holes in a plot that already doesn't make much sense (bro's punishment for attempted murder and proven possesion of [should be illegal but they dont have any law system] weaponry is literally no phone for a week. oh and then they let murder slide too, i guess they thought it through)

it's important to keep in mind it was originally just a wattpad story and i knew what i was getting myself into - the only thing that actually icks me is the fact it's not free to read anymore, falling under some wattpad coin program, which is bs. if the author wants to make money off a book, they should at least make the effort to fix the typos

it did, however, prove a point to me - i should never, under any circumstances, deprive myself of gay vampires, because that results in searching for them in the darkest corners of the internet

I loved the Webtoon, so I was really excited to experience this story in its original novel format. Unfortunately, it ended up being exactly what I would expect from a Wattpad story.

The writing was rough, and at times it was genuinely difficult to get through. The only reason my rating isn’t lower is because I already had such a strong attachment to the characters from the Webtoon. Being able to picture them as their illustrated counterparts made the reading experience a little less painful.

I know this story started on Wattpad before being adapted, but the simplistic plot and dialogue work far better in a visual medium.

If you’re interested in this story, I would strongly recommend reading the Webtoon instead or checking out the graphic novel adaptation when it releases.

Thank you Netgalley for an ARC of this book.

Thank you to wattpad and webtoons for the amazing book mail including vote me and love bites! I ate this up! This book is pitched as twilight if Edward and Jacob end up together and you know what I see it!

This book is cringy, messy, and a good freaking time. Kieran, our vampire, and his best friend Cella are in high school when new student who gives Kieran weird feelings shows up. He’s a wolf. There’s drama, treating, betrayal. Cella and Mason date at one point, but no one wants Bella anymore LOL omg the names. Bella cella whatever.

There’s some obvious changes to the store so it’s not identical, there’s feuding families, and yeah I just had a fun time and I love having a fun time

3.5 stars. I really enjoyed this forbidden teenage romance. I feel like it perfectly captured the annoying and also pure essence of a teenage romance haha and who doesn’t love a vampire and a werewolf!? Were there moments were I wanted to swan dive into the book and smack the s*** out of these two? Absolutely! But I also loved them together and thought it was an enjoyable story. The event that happened at the end kind of surprised me in how it ended and how it was also just moved past but overall it was a good read!

Synopsis⭐
(Werewolves and vampires don't mix, or that's what Kieran Callisto, a seventeen-year-old vampire, has believed all his life - until he falls for the Alpha's son.

*****

When Kieran meets his new classmate, Mason Kane, he bristles with an unexplainable disdain. Soon it becomes apparent why: Mason is a werewolf. But when a fight turns into a sudden kiss that neither expects, Kieran's feelings for Mason turn to attraction in an instant. None of it makes sense - vampires and werewolves are supposed to be mortal enemies, so why does Kieran find Mason so irresistible? He knows that each kiss is dangerous, each bite is unpredictable...)💙

This is the third Wattpad book I've finished reading. I really love the enemies-to-lovers trope in this book, but there's some ickk part in the story, but I'm not going to tell you that because it's going to be a spoiler if I do. I do think their love for each other estimated quickly, which I was not expecting because the first book I read was slow burn, like really, really slow, but in this book, uhmm flash i guess. If you're planning to read this one, don't expect the high-quality story you see or have read in Kindle or other physical books with new york time best selling books. I just based my rating on my feelings, not on the plot, grammar, or mistakes I saw, but just the feelings I felt while reading this book. This has smut or not I mean, they definitely did the deed, but it's not explained or given any details, just the kissing, you know what I mean, its smut but not really smut.💙
I'd recommend it to any bl lovers out there who wants to read mlm fantasy with an enemies-to-lover trope but less smut, more story.💙

I wanna read the inheritance game after listening to haunting adeline.💙

Speriamo bene!

This story follow Kieran (a vampire) and Mason (a werewolf) as they navigate high school, deal with their initial dislike of each other, and a centuries old feud between vampire and werewolves. This is kinda like if Twilight had been about Jacob and Edward being in love with each other instead of with Bella.

There were some fun things about this novel, Annalise as a side character shined. Not sure I am okay with how Cella was treated in this and I think that could have used more nuance/exploration. But I did think the friendships were great.

I think the timing of this novel is off at times. At times we are rushing through the story, other times the pacing is good, and then others it is slow. For me it made for a somewhat disjointed reading experience.

I think there were good things about the story and I did love how hard Mason fought for Kieran, his dedication to his snarky vampire was cute and refreshing. Kieran is a complicated character and it was good to see him challenge his prejudices and work towards something new. His fears were understandable even if at some points you wanted to shake him for his choices.

Overall, an interesting take on vampire falls for werewolf. I think those that love enemies to lovers with snark will enjoy this! Thank you to the publisher for providing an advance copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Wattpad Books and NetGalley for this eARC, these opinions are my own. I love a vampire werewolf enemies book! And this this is a queer enemies to lovers sign me right up! Kieran is a seventeen year old high school student who also happens to be a vampire. His dad his the chief of the local clan. Things are going as normal until a new kid shows up in his art class. New kid’s name is Mason and Kieran feels an instant dislike, a kind he has never felt before. Everything about Mason sets him off. But yet at the same time there’s a different kind of tension pulling them together too. When Kieran comes across Mason injured in the woods, he finds that Mason is a werewolf, there kinds do not mix or get along. Despite that Kieran stays by Mason’s side and it leads to a surprising kiss, an attraction is born. But they are meant to be sworn enemies can they keep up appearances when everything inside them yearns to be together? With everything at stake they’ll have to choose between their heads or their hearts. But when the consequences could mean death which will they choose? Alicia Wallace writes a fun and quick read that was entertaining and enjoyable! I enjoyed both Kieran and Mason and their dislike turned to like! A sweet lighthearted read!

*** I received an ARC of this book from Booktrovert in exchange for my honest review. ***

Vampires! Werewolves! At odds. In the Pacific Northwest. High school students who run fast. A love triangle.
Can anyone say….Twilight?

The author knows what she’s about, acknowledges the comparison early on, pokes fun at it, then gets back to the story. From there, we get back to the serious focus of the story. Kieran is a vampire. His best friend, Marcella is human. The new kind at school, Mason, is a werewolf. When Kieran first meets Mason, an immediate dislike prickles his skin. Kieran has reasons for hating werewolves. His brother, Cedric, also harbors a deep hatred for werewolves. Mason knows instinctually that he’s met his mate, but mistakenly believes it’s Marcella.

Eventually, this enemies-to-lovers story evolves as the reasons why the vampires hate the werewolves becomes clear. Mason realizes his error, but fear of reprisals keeps the boys “in the closet” as it were. The angst and sweet discovery were poignant. The banter was quippy. I enjoyed the journey and the ending. I especially enjoyed that it’s a standalone, with a satisfying conclusion. Well worth the read.

I genuinely enjoyed this book!

I’ve always been someone who enjoys a book without much plot once in a while and is more character driven. Because this book did feel like it was lacking an actual plot—besides Kieran and Mason’s relationship—until near the end when Cedric came into play.

This felt like a cozy up at night type of read. A palate cleanser.

I loved Masons character. How he just said whatever he wanted and the efforts he put into his and Kieran’s relationship. The shed. The tent and flowers.

Kieran’s character was probably my favorite. The way he holds his love for his mom through empty pots and hangings on the wall is cute. His relationship with Casper was adorable. I loved their interactions.

They both definitely had some issues, like kissing each other while hiding that fact from Cella, ultimately leading to friendship issues.

Some aspects of the story felt rushed while others felt a little dragged out. I feel like more could have been given if it was dual POV.

I really wish it had been dual pov because I would have loved to read from Masons pov and see his inner monologue.

Overall, I do recommend this book if you enjoy YA vampire and werewolf stories!!

Now it’s time to read the webtoon

I’m still writing my review for Vicious, but in the meantime here is my review of this Wattpad story I read.

Like many, I picked this up because I’m reading the Webtoon adaptation, Love Bites, and kinda wanted to scratch the itch of “what’s going to happen next”. Of course, the two are different in some ways, but it did in fact scratch that itch.

Now this story wasn’t the most well written, with some clunky dialogue and a couple misspelled words here and there. At points the characters annoyed me and their actions made little sense, BUT I didn’t step into this expecting anything beyond that. Wattpad writers don’t have access to professional editors and it is a place for young writers to get their start.

There were some broader issues, like with the cheating plotline and progression of Mason and Kieran’s relationship, but I think the author has potential. With some workshopping it could be the first published Klance fanfiction (I don’t know if one already exists or if this was intended to be Klance fanfiction).

I recommend this for fans of romance, vampires, werewolves, Klance, and cheesy wattpad stories.

bingeread this w no sleep in 13 hours. LOVED IT. I'm so grateful that there was no smut, bc it definitely was NOT necessary. ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS STORY. this is the first time that I read a Wattpad story and genuinely, *WOW*. I'm so glad that it was a happy ending. I'm still confused about their heights tho, but it was still amazing. I feel bad for Cella still, since Kier is a shit friend, but I'm glad she has her gentleman now. I kinda feel like I love Kieran in the start more tho... IM SO BLESSED. I loved the tiny details w the "oh god" and Kieran wincing at that. loved it. I love Mason being worried about Kieran's blood intake. and I love little Casper. I feel like Kier feels guilty about killing his brother tho especially bc he wanted to shove him away at first, but I'm sort of happy that he did bc Cedric was an a-hole.

After reading the webtoon version, I quickly dived into the novel because I just wasn’t quite ready to be done with Kieren and Mason yet!

I enjoyed it for what it was and devoured the entire book in a day. The writing is very easily digestible and makes it a quick read. The writing, of course, reads very Wattpad (rightfully so I guess) and very YA but the tension between the main characters was electric. The plot was pretty predictable and didn’t really bring something new to the vampire x werewolf trope, but it’s a fun time and sometimes that’s what you need. A great pallet cleanser between other reads!

I think this is an excellent queer read for teens specifically! It tackles some issues lgbtqia+ youth deal with and has a great message as an ending.

Thank you wattpad books for sending me an early review copy!

It had all the ingredients for something great vampires, werewolves, but somehow managed to turn it into a long-winded Wattpad fever dream. The plot dragged, the side characterswere flatter than a pancake and uninteresting (the writer shows them but they arent really that well build to be interesting alingside the main story of romance). The story ha unnecessary interactions so u could say there were a lot of situations which didnt add to the main story and just carried the story longer. The story itself would take 23 chapters to end but theres just so many unnecessary stuff happening.By the end, I was rooting for a interesting ending but it was just a really predictable end. :/ Kierens brother wanst well written at al, dude is just there for nothing.
