Jai, a 27 year old passionate photographer, resident of Shanti Nagar and father of eight year old, Pia, has a sad past, an incident left him heartbroken and shattered giving scars which were beyond repair.
Aparajita Basu, a journalist, left behind her disappointments in Mumbai, became a new resident of Shanti Nagar feeling the mornings jingles, noon naps, evenings buss and night galas of a simple colony of the pink city.
It’s her puzzled feelings that annoyed Jai most of the time when she never left a stone unturned in lauding Jai’s courage and strength to stand back after what he suffered. But, it needs certain level of acceptance and commitment to be with Jai. What about her dreams and career?
Choices are hard to make given the subtle realities. Will they ever going to make it?
Or
Their past overpowers the present?
It is a story which gives a beautiful message of resilience, love and selflessness.
The story has a wonderful plot. I loved the portrayal of the residents of Shanti Nagar. They were so different from one another yet so vivid. Little Pia has a very vibrant character that will leave smile in your lips.
But I found the writing style to be very messed up. Aparajita's character could not leave any kind of impact. The character had so many shades to portray but ends up being a confused whimsical personality. Jai's character could have been more strong if his opinions were heard clearly. There were lots of grammatical errors and editing mistakes which I would request to look into.
If you want some light one time read you can try this book!
💞This is the story of Jai, Aparajita and the role of their family members and her friend. Both Jai and Aparajita have past and scars that do not leave easily. 💞
💛Jai - He is a passionate photographer who was living his dream life but tragedy happened and fatherhood falls in his lap. Now he is a father of 8 old Piya who is loved by everyone in society. His whole life revolves around the happiness of that little angel. He is helped by his housemaid who they treat as the family member and she loved this little family. Her sister Gita is anxious for his future 's life. 💛
💜Aparajita. - A bold, introvert journalist who recently settled in Jaipur with her mommy and an American friend. She is a little bit edgy these days and has a short of trust issues. Mrs Basu always supports her and for the sake of her happiness, she relocates with her. Her mother loves being here as she can easily socialise here that was not possible in the city which never sleeps, Mumbai.💜
💕What happens when these two personalities cross their path with each other.??obviously they start liking each other. But it is not that simple, both are from a different culture and has broken heart. Moreover, their union demands Aparajati to become the mother of an 8-year-old girl. She is a very ambitious girl and Jai certainly would not want to be a hurdle in her success. So, what do they choose.?? Their love win or the situation win?? How society reacts?? 💕
💙To know the answers, grab and read the book. Well, the plot is intriguing. It is not a fairytale kind of romance but a real love story. Their dilemma is real and I loved how they handle the situation but I think there can be another solution also. Characters are well developed. Language is easy and narration is smooth. It is a breezy read of only 145 pages and can be finished in a single sitting. 💙
There is a beauty in the bonds shared among strangers. Bhumika Monani, the author of 'Society Pages' brings us to Shanti Nagar, a blooming colony with people of different natures living together amidst laughter, tears, happiness and pain. Amongst children going about their daily mischiefs and the colony elders spending their calm lives, there is Jai- a young, passionate photographer and the father of eight-year-old, Pia. They have their lives sorted out, or so it seems. When Aparajita, a journalist, enters their life, it is bound to rock Jai's lonely existence. In this colony of drama and love, will love bloom or hate emerge?
The cover and name of this book made me expect a lot from it. For one, I liked the character of little Pia and that of Jai. The environment created by the author was homely. I liked the ending, and also the lines of wisdom thrown in here and there.
But, the language and narration was the biggest problem in the book. It wasn't edited at all. There were so many grammatical errors and wrong sentence formations, that it made reading this book a very tedious job. The other main character, Aparajita, didn't have the same impact as Jai did. Facts were repeated over and over again, and some sections turned a little boring.
It was an honest attempt, and if properly edited, it might make a good read. But for now, it won't be on my recommendation list.
Society Pages by Bhumika Monani is a book all about love and friendship and selflessness. Firstly, the title of the book is really intriguing, that's what made me read this book in the first place.
The story is about the main character Jai Rathod, who is a 27 year old photographer, who lives in Shanti Nagar in the beautiful pink city, Jaipur. He was very passionate and full of life person, but a sudden phone call changed his life completely.
A new resident of Shanti Nagar, Aparajita Basu, a journalist from Mumbai comes to Jaipur with her mother and a foreigner best friend to shoot a documentary film about the city.
She meets Jai, and finds herself feeling different about this guy than others before. She starts liking Jai and confesses her love to him. Will Jai be able to accept her, keeping in mind pia is also a part of his life.
Over the course of their lives, Aparajita has to make tough decisions about her life if he wants to live with Jai. Will she choose the right decision? Will they be able to come together?
The story is very well narrated and the characters are very different and intriguing. I loved the character of Aparajita Basu who is so bold and lively, always so determined and strong headed, but melts in front for jai and has also lack of words in front of him.
Whereas, the character of Jai is very charming and a down to heart gentlemen whom we are very rare to find these days. The other character of Gita, who is Jai's sister is also a side line character but very well narrated.
“Nobody knows what will happen next moment until it does we can’t even figure out why it did and what triggered it.”
“Life keeps on changing even though you stay at the same place.”
Dwelling on the past affects human nature and take people to a whole new level where they have to recreate their balance & find purpose from scratch. Society pages is that kind. The Story of Jai, a passionate photographer and Aparajita, a journalist revolves around how their past tragedy affects their present and the dilemmas involved. Read along to know. Will their love bloom or wither?
The Story sets in Shanti Nagar at Jaipur. While developing the story of Jai & Aparajita, This book describes the picturesque details of Shanthi Nagar from the party & gala's taking place to how the children keep the neighbourhood alive and extol the architectural values of Jaipur, due in the process. While Jai moves forward with his life taking Pia, Niece under his care despite the major incident impacts his life, Aparajita moves to his neighbourhood to untie her past tantrums in Mumbai. She was a go with the flow person but her recent breakup had her flummoxed.
During peeking into their life, you will encounter how their selfless acts and the ability of uncanny spacing out for bonding grows strong. And readers will find answers for empathy and how the characters integrate to make an emotional connection. I loved how the authors make the readers see the beauty of life despite everything goes down.
What worked for me in this book is her profound poetic expression throughout. The author puts a limit on the usage of a writing trope while describing the Protagonists introspections. The common take away of this story is all about the love, the family ties, the responsibility they had to take on, out of the tragedy they bump on.
#qotd What is the reason of why we are not good at good bye or that flashback follows???😒😒🥺🥺 Book : Society pages. Author: @bhumika_monani Genre : love story. 🌟 Rating: 3.5 Blurb : The story of such a people who already trusted someone else in their past who broken them badly now they cant feel honestly in any person or in relation. Both are passionate about their carrier but when they talk about own their life they don't feel anything for anyone.
They encounters and falls in love but something holds them maybe that flashbacks of extreme pain maybe that not able to trust again on someone else again.
Time teaches and shows the head and tail side.
Do they will fall ?? Or again it's not good at good bye but that flashback ruins ??
Let's see the book then .. Reveiw: I like the story so so much added the daughter's character it's too heart warming. The struggle of this generation about their relationship is shown and narrated so effectively. While reading it's like judging the characters life with why and what !! The characters attachment I felt in this book the male protagonist was the most. Title was good enough and the cover is also both don't gives any kinds of spoiler or view while lauguage was so so good not hard not soft I think it was perfect. Publishers are so good, when we talk about the pages and paperback quality it's really so good thanks @writeindia for such good formatting. I will recommend this book for love story and sad story and hope story readers .. Thanks for reading. #societypages
Society Pages by Bhumika Monani is quiet and enjoyable read. The story line moves around two young people, Jai and Aparajita. Both of them had a different lifestyle. In earlier life, Jai was fun loving and enjoyed his life as a photographer with family being constant support. Aparajita is self dependent girl journalist who stays with her friend and Mom. . . With the title of the book one can know that somewhere it will talk about the social bondage that one faces if there is caste/religion issue in love. Both Jai and Aparajita had bitter past lives. But one day, both met at Shanti Nagar Colony. Through Pia's loving and adorable nature both meet and things start to take a good turn. . . Bhumika has very interestingly described the childhood play of colony children, how other colony people get disturbed and how some of the people comeup for the rescue of children :P . . What I liked? *Quotes in between the lines (I could somehow relate what author was trying to convey) *Brooding nature of both Jai and Aparajita * Simple language and well narrated plot * I got a signed copy :) (Thank you to the author, I consider myself fortunate to get it) * Good font size and quality of pages * Cover page is nice, But I think the title could have been something else (As this was not only about how society judges people, but something beyond that) . . Read this book if you are looking for something light. And wait....Did I mention who is Pia and what happened to her? Well for that give this book Society Pages a read . . Looking for more such reads from the author. Happy reading :)

Society Pages by Bhumika Monani is a story of how unknown people with sad, disappointing past meet at same place and how their life changes forever. This story had been placed in Shanti Nagar, a simple colony with lots of emotions settled in it. Protagonist Jai, a 27 year old passionate photographer and father of 8 year old, Pia. Aparajita Basu, a journalist who left behind all her disappointments and became a new resident of Shanti Nagar. In their routine life Jai and Aparajita get involved in each other. They start sharing an amazing bond. Aparajita always used to spend a significant part of her day with Pia. Will the environment of this colony bring the duo together or apart them forever? Will they be able to forget their past and share their hearts?
Society Pages was a well characterized story. I liked Pia's sweet character. Author's thought behind this whole concept was really simple and pretty but in narration there were grammatical errors which made it little difficult to complete the story. The cover was simple, pretty and eye-catching but it didn't match the story. Cover and the whole concept were going on different routes of genre.
This story involves Jai, a father of an 8 year old, Pia and Aparajitha, a journalist and unfortunately, they both have a super disappointing past. This is a story set in Shanti Nagar, Jaipur. Initially, Jai gets super irritated by her puzzled feelings, however, things do change. She stands by Jai and supports him no matter what (cute.) What happens later forms the plot. Initially, I thought the plot was cliché, but I was extremely pleased with how the book turned out. I loved how the author had described situations and her creativity as well! Her writing was pretty easy to comprehend! Simple, yet classy! I found Aparajitha super annoying initially, but later I happened to find her pretty cute🙈 Happens often with me, guys😛
The novel had intense depth and it was interesting enough for me to finish in a single sitting. It kinda took me some time to grasp all the characters' names before I could get involved in the whole story, that's the only con. I love the cover, to be honest! I find it extremely relevant and pretty neat❤️ I'd recommend this to someone who's looking for a light read :) Overall, it was pretty entertaining and I had great fun reading it :3 .
Book : Society Pages Author : Bhumika Monani This book is a romantic fiction. The language used is easy to read and this book can be completed within few hours. The story revolves around Jai who is a photographer and living along with his daughter Pia in Jaipur. Aparajita came from America and recently shifted to his colony along with her mother and her American best friend, Chizale. Aparajita is a journalist and believe in exploring the things. Jai and aparajitha are having drastic pasts which stops them from being further in any new relationship. This is a pure and simple lovestory and the best part I found is Pia. Though I was still searching for some twist and turns in this story . Like every lovestory there were some misunderstandings too between two people but atlast I loved everything is sorted out. This book can tell you what love really is . You can also find the bond between a mother and a daughter , two best friends and a father and a daughter pretty well. Will Aparajitha and Jai be able to give themselves a second chance? If yes then will she be able to accept Pia as her daughter? Wait, Is Pia really a daughter of Jai?? Read out this story to know more.
The book is expressive of the subtleties of love, resilience and selflessness especially when it encounters the two central protagonists as Jai and Aparajita. The former is the passionate photographer who had faced miseries in the past and is intended enough to overcome them whereas the latter is the journalist who too had faced disappointments in her career and is intended to reach the zenith in her profession. The narration specifically presents the blend of fate of the two and how they deal with these adversities.
The narration is lucid in comprehension and could be enjoyed by the readers who are peculiar about their choices. The characterization is average yet detailed. The plot is intriguing and intricately designed with efforts. I enjoyed this short little story which proved to be subtle and warm in these aspects of love and care. But the portrayal is bland, monotonous and rhetorical at a few places which sometimes takes time to get involved in the book. Other than that, it is a decent read.
How you have reacted to sudden responsibility? Well, I can say I suck at handling responsibility. But on the other hand, my younger sister is best at it. Fine, we are all different. But only adversity shows us our true side as well. Are we capable to handle anything? Sudden responsibility teaches us many things. I guess that's why some people become mature way too faster than others.
Storyline It's a tale of Jay who suddenly and at a very young age hit with adversity. How he behaved in it was truly applauding. There is no story without love in it. So here to he met someone who was like me. Messy and irresponsible at some level. But how they tried to blend into each other's lives that taught both a good lesson.
My take -a unique and attracting story -easy language and narration -detailed perfectly -characters justified with story -motivated
The author introduces us to the blooming colony of Shanti Nagar in Jaipur where people live together admist happiness and sadness. The story revolves around Jai Rathod, a talent photographer and Aprajita Basu, a well-established journalist whose lives gets entangled as they came to live in the same society. Both of them are running away from their pasts and searching for happiness that would make them forget their loss and help them live a peaceful life ahead. In the colony of drama and love, will love bloom or hate emerge? The society provides them the escape they were looking for and their search for happiness brings them at a decision which none of them thought of as a possibility after what they have been through. Life is never easy. Will Aprajita takes the decision to live with Jai accepting Pia as a part of their lives?
Society Pages' is a delicate tale that introduces its readers to Jai, Pia and Aparajita and several other interesting and ecstatic members of the Shanti Nagar society. The story is set in the Pink City of India. Jai is a freelance photographer in his late 20's. With Pia, fatherhood fell into Jai's lap. Through Chapter 6, we are introduced to Aparajita, when she enters the new neighbourhood with Mrs.Basu and Chizale. The opening lines of Ch 9 are heart-wrenching. Pgs. 149-151 wrap the essence of how life flows, going through the course of departures, it finds its way into continuity. 'Society Pages' is a short and crisp read. The language is simple and the story flows like a conversation, making it an easy read for everyone. My favourite quote from the book is absolutely unmissable - "Cultures still remain significant but never stop them from choosing to exist".
Society pages. It's a story of love which was found late but was beautiful. Most of us are selfish when it comes to our dream. It's not that we want to be selfish but in order be successful we tend to be selfish but God had other plans for Jai. Jai become a parent at the most unexpected moment in his life . He could have chosen his life, his career but he accepted to be pia father.
Life was going normal after that incident in his life but life had other plans for him . Jai met Aparajita who herself had a past and was trying to get over it. Both had suffered a lot and found each other perfect for each other untill she got the offer from discovery channel America. What will she chose? Jai or her career? . #societypages
Before categorically hoping into the pages of the book I would like to adore the cover design because it has a nice leather texture clubbed with a pragmatic image and colours.
The story gives us an insight into the lives of Pia,Jai and Aparajita and other characters of a society. Jai is a photographer trying to shape his career and is a classical example of how to chase your dreams and do whatever it takes in order to achieve what you want to become and something similar is going with pia as well.
Aparijita moves to neighborhood to club her past events. She has to make some tough decisions regarding her life.
Overall it's an okay type read with a good touch of dialect and tones which are used in a nice way.
Kind of an amalgamation of lov story and lugubrious tale!
Author Bhumika picked up a very unique plot and storyline. The narration of happenings in a cultural living - a society where everyone knows everyone. The book talks about the main character Jai and his 8year old daughter, Pia. The relation of the two has been sweetly narrated which will is absolutely awe-worthy
I completely disliked the cover design as it doesn’t seem to express the feeling of warmth which is depicted throughout the story, instead it gives more feeling of a horror book cover or a murder mystery thriller. The title however is perfect and in sync with the book
Thank you Bhumika for writing this lovely book, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it
SOCIETY: a horrifying stamp on every unfulfilled dream . . . I received SOCIETY PAGES by BHUMIKA MONANI Publisher: Write India as a Giveaway gift hosted by her along with @_soulful_quote on Instagram. It is a heartfelt love story carved into perspectives of the two lovers Jai and Aparajita and the Society they live in. Isn't it weird, what others think and perceive about us affects our relationships dreadfully that we end up spoiling each other's lives? It happened with Jai and Aparajita too, the scars of the past haunts them terribly that they are hesitant to move on with their life. Those scars still feel raw and real. As if moving on with it will be like ripping off the bandage on them. But did they took a step further? or Did they let the society overpower them? Does love always find it's way together? Find it out in the book... . . PROS: Bhumika has nice style of writing and a unique way of telling the story. CONS: I think, this book was not reviewed properly. It has plenty of grammatical and prepositional errors.
this is one of the best book i have ever come across. it's a tale of jay who suddenly and at a very young age hit with adversity how he behaved in it was truely applauding.the cover of the book is amazing.you should definetly give a try.
