He’s trying to save the world....and she’s saving him.
Tytus Family can be a pain in the ass. Even more so when the only blood relative I have left is a brother intent on destroying the world as punishment for a millennia of imprisonment. Da, one can say I need to be razor-focused in order to figure out what zmeu magic he’s unleashed and how to fix it. Imagine my surprise when my travels to my ancestral home, deep in the Carpathian Mountains, are disturbed by a doe-eyed witch as intriguing as she is broken. I don’t have time for fixing her. I need to fix everything else, first. Top of the list being myself and these wounds that won’t heal. The last thing I need is to get dragged into her quest for redemption.... yet somehow I find myself doing just that. And the worst part? I kind of like being her knight in shining armour.
Fiona> When you’ve been used, bruised and battered as I am, you stop trusting people real fast. Especially supernatural beings who have more power in their pinky than I do in my entire being. I don’t trust humans, and I sure as hell don’t trust Tytus. He’s a zmeu, and despite those stormy eyes that see right through me, I’m fully aware he’s only in this quest for himself. But I’m hoping I can get something out of it, too. Something to save my soul, and maybe cut this curse I feel dragging me down to the depths of Hell itself. Only, I’m learning Tytus doesn’t take kindly to being told half truths. Nor to having his charms ignored. And when he turns the full power of his zmeu seduction onto me, I don’t stand a chance. Because the most dangerous thing of all? He’s making me hope for a future that’ll never be.
Alexa Whitewolf is a fiction writer, newspaper columnist of daily issues and author of the critically acclaimed Moonlight Rogues shifter series.
Alexa has been a lifelong writer and first began creating other worlds and characters at the ripe age of 12. Growing up in the Transylvania region surrounded by epic mountains and a never ending stream of legends and stories was bound to create an overactive imagination. This shines through Ms. Whitewolf’s writing by creating worlds filled with unique folklore, life wisdom and plenty of furry creatures.
An avid traveler, Alexa writes under a penname and spends her days between an office job and writing, in Canada’s capital when she’s not flying somewhere with lush landscapes and plenty of hiking trails.
Her series focus on strong heroines, kind yet sexy men, fights of good and evil and the never-ending learning curve of humanity’s strong – and weak – points. Romanian folklore is intertwined with her writing, more notably in her shifter romance series, the Moonlight Rogues. Her other series draw on world mythology, such as the Avalon myth and Arthurian legend (the Avalon Chronicles) and Ancient Egypt (The Sage’s Legacy).

Dragons, fiery HOT dragons. Sometimes a series spinoff just misses the mark, but not Alexa Whitewolf’s Flaming Rogues first book, FANNING THE FLAMES! This author has nailed all of the heat, the passion and tension as a dragon and a witch create an unlikely and tentative alliance to defeat a force bent on revenge against the world.
Fiona has been broken by a dragon, but finds an inner strength to stand next to Tytus, a dragon on a mission that is as self-serving as it is heroic. Can she trust a being with more power than she could ever imagine to possess? Can he defeat his own brother? Can she keep her heart safe from falling and shattering to pieces?
Alexa Whitewolf is back and her imagination takes us to the Carpathian mountains, meshing mythology with fascinating characters and a quest that is as passionate as the flames that grow between a dragon and a witch! Entertaining, fabulous world building, strong character growth and dragons…definitely my kind of escape!
I received a complimentary ARC edition from Alexa Whitewolf! This is my honest and voluntary review.
Series: Flaming Rogues - Book 1 Publication Date: May 21, 2020 Publisher: Alexa Whitewolf Genre: Paranormal Fantasy Available from: Amazon For Reviews, Giveaways, Fabulous Book News, follow: http://tometender.blogspot.com
I positively adored Alexa Whitewolf’s Moonlight Rogues and was more than happy to dive into the start of this spin-off series. With this we step away from wolves and focus on a different mythology – zmei, dragon shifters.
I adore all aspects of Alexa Whitewolf’s writing, but her ability to twist mythology and make it into something more is my favourite aspect of her writing. With this insight into the zmei, my view was made solid. All aspects of the book hooked me, but my favourite aspect was watching the way the world grew ever larger.
Although this is a spin-off to the Moonlight Rogues series, you do not need to have read it to understand the story that takes place. You will enjoy it more – especially as we get to see huge growth for all characters involved – but this can also be enjoyed without prior knowledge. It’s a story that is sure to grip in many ways – from the world building to the characters, from the action to the deeper emotions involved in the journey – and more than worth reading if you’re looking for a story that will have you hooked throughout.
By the time you’re done, you’ll be desperate to dive into the second book. I know I am.
“Fanning the Flames” is the first book in the “Flaming Rogues” Duology by Alexa Whitewolf, a series that focus on the zmeu, the Carpathian Dragons we already briefly meet in the previous “Moonlight Rogues” Series by Whitewolf, and we have been eager to know everything about them ever since 😊
As we reencounter Tytus, he is on his way back home to the Carpathian Mountains to find a solution to the rampage his own brother is on. Declan may be have his reasons, and that is a story for another time, more specifically for the second part of the Duology, but regardless of Declan reasons, the situation needs to be addressed and Tytus in the only one capable to reach his brother at this time, for which he needs all his concentration. But concentration is hard to come by with Fiona on his side.
Fiona is supposed to aid Tytus in his quest to end Declan’s rampage, the only reason she agreed to accompany him, as she really don’t like him, nor really trust him, even less than humans, after all he is a zmeu and she has suffered his kind before and moreover he has his own agenda. But somehow, Fiona and Tytus cannot fight their attraction, and the more they try to fight it, the more it keeps coming in the way of their mission.
True to her writing style Alexa Whitewolf interlaces factual mythology and folklore with fiction elements to create a wonderful story, with well fleshed out characters, a fantastic setting and a very interesting plot. The series may depict already know characters, but to call it an spin-off would be a disservice, this is a fantastic series on its own, that can be enjoyed without any knowledge whatsoever of the previous “Moonlight Rogues” but honestly why would anyone pass on the pass on the opportunity 😉
I am totally in love with Alexa Whitewolf’s Moonlight Rogues series, with werewolves (and werewolves from different areas too!), witches and dragons!!! It is a very cool series!!! Flaming Rogues is a spin off from that series, about the dragons, or Zmeu!!! I love dragons! In the first book, Fanning The Flames, it is about Tytus (a Zmeu dragon) and Fiona (a witch). It take place deep in the Carpathian Mountains, where Tytus grew up with his brother, Declan. There is lots of action and romance (angsty). The next book will feature Declan, it’s a very complicated relationship between the brothers. It should be interesting.
You do not have to read Moonlight Rogues in order to read Flaming Rogues, but I highly recommend it. Not only because I think Moonlight Rogues is awesome, but also it will add more to the stories in Flaming Rogues. But the choice is yours. I recommend both!!
Shes done it again! I love this world and its a nice treat to finally get to follow the dragon instead of the wolves and understand more of Tytus's background. There is so much more depth to his story and lineage that it leaves you with whiplash trying to get a grasp on it all and its amazing, add in the romance that builds perfectly and its a story that will definitely be on your favorites shelf!
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Bearing the burden and towing the line, delivering one pulse racing, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, page flipping bombshell, blasting this baby to a whole new realm. Gratification rocks this little treasure, bringing it home with such intensity and precision, riding roughshod and imparting one block busting dynamo, fusing this impressive bombshell together piece by piece. The attraction and chemistry builds as each layer is peeled back exposing thrilling emotions, binding them to one another perfectly. Remarkable job Alexa, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.

Will there ever be a stop to the feud between the brothers, and somehow Tytus and Fiona have to save the world. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
I liked this story about Tytus and Fiona. It made me laugh as they get use to each other as they end up on a quest in the modern day. Add in that they are in a land full of old folk tales and rumors of creatures of legends and I got a fun tale. I loved the magic and the danger and the suspense of what was going on both between the main characters personally and with their quest. Loved how they learn to trust each other against the odds of their past. Just fun watching who they end up meeting along the way.
This book 1 in the Flaming Rogues Series is a steamy story with tough, rugged, oblivious, and sexy alpha males. This well written book has characters who are well crafted and believable. The storyline is well written with intrigue and with the characters growing throughout the story. I cannot wait for other books to come. This is a spinoff of the Moonlight Rogues wolf shifter series. It has two very stubborn zmei that play at being dragon shifters, two equally feisty females keeping them in line.

I havent read the moonlight rogues series so it did take a few chapters for me to understand everything but once I did, i really enjoyed reading this. The chemistry between tytus and fiona is explosive. Fiona tries not to fall for his charms but gives in when he turns the charm all the way up. This is very well written and has some steamy scenes.

This spinoff series is absolutely on fire! The romance was swoon worthy and the characters were so easy to fall in love with. Fiona was a badass fmc and her man was delicious. I can’t wait to read more about these characters and their adventures in the future. Definitely a book worth reading.
A new author to me, I thought this was a very interesting book. I liked the drama surrounding the characters. There was mystery as well which plays out in the background. I enjoyed the book because the characters interactions were very convincing and real.
I was so surprised by how incredibly awesome it was! I mean, I had quite high expectations, because I loved the Moonlight Rogues series, but this one is on a whole another level. :)
Declan (he is my favorite❤, but Tytus is not far after him either😁) and Tytus are brothers, last of their kind, Zmeu. They used to be inseparable, until they had a falling out and Declan changed, transforming into a very bad person until he was captured and imprisoned for many years.
Now that Declan is captured by the immortals, again, Tytus is on his way home after many, many years, to recover and to find out what Declan is planning. But he is not going alone, Fiona insists that she wants to join him.
She has been used and abused by a lot of different people. Now that she is finally free, she wants to do something good and then move to a deserted island, away from everyone.
Their plans get a bit sidetracked, by the bond that stars to grow between them. Neither is very keen on getting closer, but Tytus zmeu has different plans. :)
As they delved deeper into the mystery of the castle and Declan, the mystery starts to unfold and it's not all so black and white anymore.
The story is an awesome mix of interesting mythology, very well set up a magical system and so much action. I couldn't stop reading it! Not only is there swoon-worthy romance, but it's also a story about family, getting past your past and second chances.
Fiona discovers not only her inner strength but, thanks to Titus, she rediscovers her self worth. Titus? He has found his match, if he can but convince her that it is so.
