Questa storia mi è piaciuta, ma speravo in una svolta per quanto riguarda il mistero che fa da trait d'union fra tutti i libri. Forse è un po' troppo presto...

I absolutely love this K-9 continuity series -- and that includes the gorgeous canine centered covers! Meet German Shepherd Justice who stays by Belle's side through a harrowing week of threats and violent attacks. With a partner like that, how could she not succeed? Plus there's a certain US Marshal who has taken a personal interest in unofficial protective duty. Cue the fangirling swoons. :-)

Love the dynamics between these two. They are both excellent at their jobs and there's a bit of push/pull over Emmett's desire to protect while acknowledging Belle's professional aptitude. A very realistic look at the challenges two law enforcement officers in a relationship might have.

Great secondary characters add extra zest to the story. Belle's family is a delight -- large, noisy and opinionated with open arms and welcoming hearts. And getting to catch up with the Brooklyn K-9 Unit made me happy.

Deadly Connection can be read as a standalone, by the way, though there is an over-arcing suspense plot that is building to a conclusion by the last book. The author does a great job of setting the stage for that suspense while delivering another suspense plot that gets resolution in this story. So you'll be satisfied and intrigued and eager to reach for the next True Blue K-9 Unit: Brooklyn book which releases in July. The great thing about this series is that a new book is published every month so you don't have long to wait to get your next K-9 fix.

A cold case murder converges with a more recent murder, Belle Montera and her K-9 partner, Justice, join forces with US Marshal Emmett Gage to track down the killer.

A fast-paced, engaging read, and I loved that the story operates in the same world as previous books in the series, so familiar faces do pop up.

Belle is a strong, disciplined woman, with a wonderful, close knit family. I loved how supportive they are, as well as welcoming. I admired her faith and quick thinking. I also loved learning about the training of the K-9's, which showed great researching.

Emmett is a very honorable man, he takes his responsibilities seriously. He fits right in with Belle's teammates, and I liked his respect for them and they work that they do.

Overall, a entertaining read, with fantastic human and canine characters that you can root for all the way through. Strong character and faith come together, in this high stakes suspense. Highly enjoyable!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Lovely cover, good characters, suspense, dogs, and an interesting mystery. My main issue with this book was that the author kept telling, not showing. Every few pages Belle and Emmett would tell themselves that they really like the other for a, b, & c but should hold back for the e, f, & g. I got these reasons the first time they were shared with the reader. Instead, show us how they are holding back or failing to do so. I don't need to know the repetitive thoughts of "I like them but I shouldn't let myself get distracted."

Oh well, I'm not much of a romance reader for a reason. The K-9s were what made this worth my time. And I also cared about whether or not Belle would find her attacker and be safe again.

This is one of my favourite imprints from Harlequin - they're always enthralling and intriguing suspense filled reads with great characters and plenty of drama as well as a heartwarming romance - and this is a brilliant example of all that!

New DNA evidence from an unsolved murder scene twenty years ago implies that the perpetrator is related to US Marshal Emmett Gage. The victims were the parents of two people who have grown up to become members of the Brooklyn team, who have re-opened the cold case after a similar recent murder. The investigating officer is Belle Montera but her K-9 partner is sedated and she is almost killed whilst going to meet Emmett. This is the first of a series of attacks on Belle. Is it related to that old case or is someone else targeting her? Emmett and Belle team up to help protect her and in an attempt to bring the perpetrator(s) to justice but will they be the next victims instead?

This really is an action packed crime thriller with so many twists and turns to keep you guessing. It involves family drama, fantastic canine heroes and a great team of officers in this fascinating read. I'm really enjoying learning more about K-9 officers and this is a brilliant read and great addition to this entertaining read. I have no hesitation in highly recommending it!

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it and thoroughly enjoying doing so!

"Deadly Connection" is a romantic suspense novel. It's the third book in a series, but each novel can be read as a stand alone. K-9 police officer Belle is attacked by someone claiming she ruined his life. Since she saw his face, it didn't take long for them to determine who the attacker was, but it was more difficult to track him down to arrest him. US Marshal Emmett saved her life in the initial attack, but Belle was able to hold her own in other attacks with the help of her dog partner. Because she's investigating Emmett's cousin, they worked together and both were endangered by the repeated attacks.

The suspense stayed high as attacks kept coming one after another. The characters reacted realistically to events and were likable. Belle and Emmett quickly came to admire the others character as well as their looks. Both were competent at their jobs. Emmett sometimes had trouble (in his mind) with letting Belle do her job even though he knew she was trained for it, partly because he cared for her. Since Belle recently got out of a controlling, manipulative relationship, she would only accept a relationship with someone who supported her and built her up. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this exciting suspense.

I received an ebook review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.

This is another suspenseful and intriguing book in this series. I liked the characters of Emmett and Belle. There was such a contrast between their family situations—Belle had many family members; Emmett had none, They both were dedicated to their law enforcement jobs, and were caring people who took their responsibilities seriously. The storyline moved quickly and the suspenseful twists and turns kept the book interesting. As always, I loved the police dogs and their part in the story. There’s still an on-going mystery in this series, and I’m looking forward to reading the next book.

I received a copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I love K-9 stories, the connection between the handler and their partners are fascinating, and this True Blue Brooklyn series has proven to be a hit with me.
Belle Montera and Emmett Gage's meet was filled with adrenaline and danger setting the story into a high-speed track towards the constant peril brought by their jobs, and the sweet romance brought by their attraction to each other.
Emmett is in a tough spot when his family and job get twisted together in a negative light. I admired how he kept his cool, and how level-headed he was about the whole process.
Belle is part of a big, loving, supportive yet protective family. Her latest case and past personal life have brought the danger into their home and some of her family members seem to be involved in the mayhem.
This story is a sweet yet a bit wild ride. I loved how Emmett meshed so well with the family of Belle, I liked how sensible they both were with their attraction to each other. The spot they are on with their relatives involved is a hazardous one, yet they hold their professionalism and calm as long as it is possible.
Deadly Connection was a one-evening read with me, the momentum building up so that I needed to reach the end before I could put it down. It was entertaining, beguile, and satisfying, a solid read for Love Inspired Romantic Suspense readers!

I’m totally a sucker for any dog book covers. Like I get totally drawn into them that I got to start reading the book immediately.Deadly Connection is on the case with the unsolved cases. But K-9 Officer Belle Montera needs to watch her back cause things are going to get hectic especially with someone hunting her down. Don’t you worry, she has her partner, Justice (the adorable German Shepherd), and sexy US Marshal Emmett Gage watching her back. US Marshal Emmett Gage is determined to find out what’s going on, especially since his family DNA is involved. And it does not help that he doesn't mind watching Belle Montera back. She is definitely the bomb and he is more than willing to get to know her.Their relationship is cute but I wish it progresses more. It’s really a slow-burn romance so it keeps on burning between them. It mainly focuses on solving the case because K-9 Officer Montera gets hunted down and they need to find out who is behind it.

Wonderful

I love this series. I love law enforcement, Texas Rangers, U.S. Marshals, S.W.A.T, etc. Brooklyn K-9 officer Belle Montera is attacked when she is on her way to meet US Marshal Emmett Gage regarding some DNA they found related to a 20 year old murder case. The genetic investigator matched DNA to someone in his family. The only close relative he has is a cousin. Could his cousin have killed someone? I loved this story Emmett is a loner, Belle has a big loving family so glad they found each other. This story has attempted murder, kidnapping, and a couple of psychopaths. Happy Belle and Emmett got their HEA.

Tense NYPD K-9 Thriller
This is the third in this series about the Brooklyn K-9 Unit, and this series is a spin-off of the original NYPD K-9 Unit series. Some of the stories and characters are shared in both series. This story features a German Shepherd that is attack trained and his lovely handler. She is working with a US Marshall on a cold case and they are fighting romantic feelings. In the meantime, someone is trying to kill her. It is tense with non-stop action and a touch of romance. I have enjoyed these books so much. They are clean, not graphic violence, with minimal blood, no gore, and no sex.

I didn't want to put this one down! Unfortunately, it is book 3 of a series and now I have to go back and read the rest so that I know what the back story is. The author did a great job of alluding to the past, however, so I didn't feel completely lost. Officer Belle Montera is attacked in a Brooklyn park on the way to a meeting regarding a cold case that she is investigating. Her dog is attacked first with a dart and she is very nearly strangled by someone that she previously arrested. Fortunately, US Marshal Emmett Gage discovers the crime in progress on the way to his meeting with Belle.

Fun and Realistic

I loved this story! I normally enjoy Love Inspired Suspense and, while I sometimes feel that the attacks and shootings are somewhat unrealistic, this book by Lenora Worth had all the elements of a romantic suspense, but the “suspense “ part of the story flowed in a realistic way. No hired hitman who keeps missing the target, but a lousy amateur shooter. A trained marshal who has a hard time apprehending his criminal cousin because he’s too close to the case. The human element was really there. The heroine is capable, but not so self-sufficient or stubborn that she can’t accept help. I will definitely look for other books by Lenora!

Why just why. It’s an instant love story. You have a US Marshal and a strong Hispanic female Brooklyn K-9 officer.

I thought I’d get a nice story about a police officer and her K9 partner solving crime. The dog’s name is Justice by the way. Very original. The dog is cute or should I say dogs but everything else…no just no.
The murder plot is boring and there’s a dog rescued with her puppies. But the story never really clicks.

I did like the cover.

True Blue Brooklyn Continues

Worth's story in Brooklyn Book 2 continues with the story of the brother/sister who lost their patented to a brutal murder. The scene repeats when another grisly murder takes place in part 2. Belle and her canine partner are attacked in the beginning of Deadly Connection. The attacker is someone she put away in the past. Connections flow with the past cases.

Deadly Connection, Book Three in the True Blue K-9 Unit: Brooklyn series is an easy read. I enjoyed the character of Officer Belle Montera, her big Hispanic family, and her dog, Justice. The plot stayed in tune with the overall series, and I was especially glad to see a missing dog rescued along with her puppies. Looking forward to reading more of this series.

Heartfelt

I really love the storyline of 2 law enforcement officers coming together to solve the mysteries of murder, control, and manipulation. The story is tasteful, warm, and even with the plot, the chemistry between the 2, it is kept respectful, and faithful, to a tee. God, is in control of both lives, who come together in love, and respect for one another.

Enjoying this Series

I'm enjoying tracking with these characters as the story unfolds. It was a great idea to have an over arcing theme to tie all the novels together while telling the stories of the individuals and their healing in finding someone to love. ❤

The 3rd book in the True Blue K-9 Unit/ Brooklyn was a good read as far as action goes and I was drawn in right away. The end kind of dragged on a bit but otherwise i enjoyed US Marshall Emmett Gage and Belle Montera’s story.
