There’s a dark secret inside of me. A monster clawing to get out.

I was thrown out of the fae world because of it. But I’m back now. Three brooding demons and a sinful incubus returned me to my sweet little homeland. And I’ll finish what I started all those years ago.

Sure, maybe my delicate fae features are twisting into spiraling horns and demonic eyes, but that won’t stop me from righting my wrongs.

The Queen of Hell might possess my body but the deadly vengeance in my blood is my own. The Prince will die by my hand for what he's done.

All I have to do is make sure the creature at the back of my mind doesn’t kill me first.

Hellish Fae is book one of a sexy reverse harem series featuring creatures of heaven, hell, and all the dark fae realms in between. This book contains MFM and MMF themes intended for readers 18 and over.

What's that? Is it a bird or a plane? No, it's another annoying book to start the day. I'm 2 for 2 for bad books today.

This is an RH. I think that's the one thing I can say with certainty, everything else is so confusing. Aries has a savior complex for demons, demons are subjected to slavery in her kingdom so she joined some secret guard to overthrow her father. The plot involved the ashes of some dead queen?, to prevent this ashes from falling into the hands of her father, she SNORTS it. This lady snorted someone's ashes.

As she tells it she snorted the poltergeist but from what I read her possessor was pretty cool and seemed like a sensible person. This evil evil poltergeist can only be suppressed by sex and alcohol, I dont know how that works but it does. She has to call in an incubus to come sex her poltergeist to oblivion.

Moving to the guys in the harem, I bet you can already guess who they are. The one that's in love with her but betrayed her years ago and is now trying to make amends, the one who is sweet and charming, the one with the snarky comments who's also the tortured hero and last but not least the jackass who's somehow misunderstood.

I dont think I'll be reading the next book. I didn't see any hint of demons being treated badly, the only demons I remember in this book are her mates. There was no plot beyond wanting to kill her brother because he was bad. The next book will revolve around her trying to kill her dad. I can already see how that's going to go. Adios ✌.

Yes.. I love a word vomit FMC... Yes I do! I'm thinking 3-3.5 stars for this start to A.K. Koonce's new series. While I absolutely loved the FMC, yes she was ridiculous and yes she was a pain in the A, and yes she was a little bad A too.. the story itself had me twisting and turning with its fast pace that for the longest while I had no clue where this plot was headed. I was just road dogging it up with my new girl crush letting the laughter roll. Humor just does it for me peeps. Its amazing how sometimes I can totally get hung up and obsessive over a plot moving too fast for me to really grip it but if you insert some completely raunchy, inappropriate and often times embarrassing moments I get hooked, lined, and sunk right in!

Our FMC Catherine the Cunt.. no wait that was the demon inside her.. yea Aries is our FMC.. my bad lol. Anyways.. Aries has been outcast from her Fae kingdom due to the fact she accidentally on purpose snorted some hell queen's remains.. you know just another day for our party girl Aries. She totally had legit intentions of course.. but now she finds herself in the Bin.. or human realm drowning her sorrows with Jack.. her BFF whisky, and with noone to talk to but Alexa.. And that is just the start of this book ya'll! Then of course she is kidnapped by a bunch of grabby angel/demons and now she finds herself back in the fae kingdom on a mission to finish what she started before she was banished.

While this was super entertaining... I will say that a little more world building and explanations would have done freaking wonders at putting the reader in a better spot to understand what all is going down here. I'm hoping that as the series continues we can get our mind.. at least half way out of the gutter so we can really focus on our goals.. whatever those may be lol.

Not bright heroine, poor foolish mates

I'm truly sorry but this book makes zero sense, like at all. I'm honestly upset that I even read it. She calls the spirit that possessed her all kinds of names, but the weird part is that the spirit is kinda cool, and when our heroine gets upset the spirit tries to get out but she doesn't let it, and has to have orgasm to stop it from happening? This just doesn't really make sense? Why does she hate this spirit so much, it's not the spirit fault that our heroine snorted her ashes? I mean what kinda psycho snorts a dead persons ashes? And another thing, what happens when the demon queen does show? We don't know, our heroine just says it's bad, that's it? Nothing is really explained. Krave and Aries relationship I hated, she hates him for being a spy, but what choice does he have, she's all about freeing the demons and treating them better and yet she condemns her own mate for being in a similar situation. And when it's convenient for her is when she wants him. Aries was a complete waste in a character, nothing she did did I like or approve of. And the ending? Are u kidding me? She can't stop them from hurting ryke, and is lead in the castle by her dad, and she gets out of his grip to walk back in her old digs? What is really going on here? She is a hot mess that is so damn foolish and idiotic, and the more I read the more I didnt like. As much as she tells them to leave her because she's a bad person to be around. Not once does she trying to flee them, no she leads them to a vipers nest of just bad luck that hangs to her to get everyone in more trouble then is worth! Complete fools! All of them! I hate this book

Totally got sucked in!

This was so interesting and fun. Aries is funny and I loved her conversations with Catherine. The guys are all great, they care for her and do what they can to protect her. The fae, demons, and fallen angels were cool characters and the world building was well done. I'm excited to read book 2!

Fast paced story about fallen angels, fae and demons. A little plot, a lot of sexual acts and bits of m/m. I liked it, the ending not so much. A lot going on and left open. Felt a little rushed with Aries recklessness. Favourite character was a toss up between Krave and Ryke. I’ll read the next one.

Awesome read

That’s was so, so good! I love all the characters. Aries is a mess but her dynamic with Krave and the others is well worth waiting on the next book. Can’t wait!

The book was so emotional and beautiful

I haven’t had a book that made my heart race and tears fall as Hellish Fae did. It was emotionally dark and beautifully twisted. I couldn’t put it down and I can’t wait for more.

It wasn’t bad but the story wasn’t in depth enough for me to understand that they had feelings for her suddenly. They just bed jumped pretty quickly which surprised me. Are they her mates? We sort of understand what’s going on in the story, at least I think I do. But the plot is so mild and the sex seems to be the focal point. I like the concept and I’m interested in reading more I just wish the relationships actually built. I didn’t see why they were together.

Aries is a Fae who has been exiled from Fae to Earth with the humans. Somehow demons and angels are part of this and demons are beneath Fae and are slaves to them? Her father hates demons because he was betrayed by a demon, but there was a war or something so now the demons aren’t welcome in Fae? Idk it’s sort of confusing there but it’s almost like Aries is helping to try to liberate the demons from the Fae.

The ending of the book though confused me. The book could definitely be cleaned up so things were a bit more clear. I’m not sure what happened or why.

Koonce does it again!

A.K. Koonce has a knack for creating characters you want to hang out with!

Ari is a kickass heroine. When we meet her, her only friend in the world is Alexa and that chick inside her head. At the end of the book she’s got a few more friends and a taste for revenge!

I really enjoyed the pacing of the book though it’s a little on the short side Koonce has already promised the second book before the end of the month, which is good because, yeah...I want more!

Zav, Damien, and Ryke are sexy as sin...but you’d know it’s the incubus who steals my heart (Krave❤️❤️❤️)

Definitely a must read!

PS - I love the Easter Egg at Rhys’ house ☺️

Just FYI, this book ends on a cliffhanger of a sort. I loved this story and the MC. It's not your usual fae story and I love the plot. Her boys are broody, alpha, and different enough that you don't feel they’re interchangeable-which happens more than I like in RH. I want more, but alas I have to wait for book 2. But, I've already preordered 😀

Great book!

I really enjoyed this read and can't wait for the next book to release! Well written, developed and fast paced. The only drawback was there were ALOT of typos and grammar mistakes. But, the book is well worth reading past all that.

Hellishly Heartbroken and Resurrected once more

What can I say? I love A.K., and I love her characters even more. I was lost for a while, not reading like I used to, but she brought me back with this book and these characters. Every. Single. Time. I read a book by her and I get heated, I get angry, and, ultimately, I fall in love all over again. Beautifully descriptive story, rough, broken, and flawed characters, and it all flows so wonderfully on these pages. These characters are worthy of love, needing of love, and redemption. Man, I really want to see some redemption for them! They may be flawed fae, angels and demons but they're perfect for me! ❤️

I was speechless after finishing this book. It had everything I love all wrapped in one. Demons, Fae and snarky humor made this book absolutely amazing.

True to form A.K. Koonce immerses you into her worlds and makes you fall in love with her characters very quickly. From the snark Aries, to the sweet Damien, to the protective and strong Ryke, to the broody and cranky Zaviar, and finally the flirtatious and cheeky Krave. Each character is written in a way that wraps around your soul.

I loved every second of this book and found it so hard to put down. The cliffhanger was soul crushing and I can’t wait to see how the story continues.

I really liked this book

The author has a writing style that I really appreciate. The heroine is snarky, sarcastic and flawed but if so relatable. Eagerly awaiting the next book. That was a bell of a cliffhanger. I'm hoping the next book also expands the relationship between Catherine and Aries.

Meh

I tried to like this book. I truly did, but it was too chaotic for me. The book wasn't long but the events happened so quickly I had to reread paragraphs again to realize what was actually happening. Oh it was in need of a proofreader again.
I liked the concept - dark fae vs demons and angel like seraphs who can fall and turn into demons. Villigante and exiled fae princess wants to set demons free from being enslaved to the Fae. Sounds good, but I wanted more of her reasons behind wanting this. Not just it's the right thing to do. Yes it is obliviously, but I think it would have solidified my understanding of the FMC, Aries. She had demon friends before and a demon crush ok, but is that enough to kill her brother over it? What about her father who makes the rules and is King? Confusing logic.
The world building was mediocre imo. I understood the physical world that was described, but not the culture really aside from the racist view of the dark Fae and seraphs. However, I was left with so many questions that had not been addressed or at least cleared up a bit to not leave me confused. I get this is book 1 and some questions are cleared up in sequel books, but normally those are more about the characters background maybe. How do the seraphs fall? Why did it happen to an overly sweet guy like Damien, but the self-admitted asshat/badboy that is Zav was not truly a fallen? How is that Corva was banished for centuries, but Aries is apparently 23 and remembers playing with Corva when she was young. Aries stays at the treehouse with the guys, where did Corva disappear to? You don't see her after the first few pages.
Lastly, Aries was too chaotic for me to truly like. Don't get me wrong, I like some crazy and ruthless FMCs, but her thinking is so disjointed that I couldn't keep up with her logic. Literally she thinks: ooh yum sexy men, I hate them, but I want to F@%# them, ooh he's nice and sweet, too sweet. Oh kill brother time now now now. Attempt 1 fail, repeat above sequence (but with a different guy)then attempt to kill brother again. It's like she doesn't plan a thing, but claims she does have a brain. Even the guys think she's crazy, but she has some appeal becauseshe is possessed. She was a Shadow Guard. What is that? She has moves, but can be easily overpowered. Catherine is quiet through most of this, but chimes in sporadically normally censoring Aries. She just seems like a background nuisance instead of the staple plot piece that she is.
The steady building of the guys and the non-insta-love aspect is what made me like what I did of this book. Maybe I'm expecting too much from book 1, but I've read plenty of RH books that don't leave me feeling beyond confused.

Aaaaaaaaaah can someone tell me why I didn’t read this book before?? Sooooooo damn good !!! I’m serious hahahaha I’m so sad right now and this book made me laugh so hard .

“Why? Why didn’t you just sell your soul or some “thing less valuable than your cock

Guys ... Aries is sooo much fun , I loved her personality seriously, she says the worst things is the worst times but damn if she isn’t cool hahaha.

“Why would you even say that?” I try to cut into Damien’s line of sight, but he’s just as mesmerized by Krave’s ability to get his cock hard as . . . okay everyone in the room seems a little impressed, and I think we all need to reassess our priorities a little bit.”

And her mates ? I loved each one of them , I’m really curious about the “secret” between sweet/dirty Damien and faehole/handsome Zav ( we can’t forget how brooding he is too hahaha ) , Ryke was a surprise to me , his personality in my view is really easygoing if you can say so about a ruthless demon hahaha when I thought him with all his scars and all you can picture him like the brooding one but he isn’t !! He is ... really relatable and then we have my “bias” Krave ....damn he is practically my animal spirit hahaha if Aries is funny , Krave is in another level completely, damn he didn’t stopped surprising me !! The guy is so COOL 😎 yeah cool is probably the word, I can imagine the emoji with glasses and the arrogant smile being him hahaha when I grow up I want his confidence.

Admittedly DNF at 40% mark

I just couldn't get into it. The story feels so rushed and there are so many key elements missing to make the story whole and not just gibberish you try and piece together. Maybe that's a bit harsh, it isn't gibberish... it just doesn't work for me. I don't like putting in effort to try and understand a story. At this point it has been 4-5 days, of which the story lost 3 days due to the FMC sleeping from a coma inducing orgasm...where the story stopped for that time, so it feels like 2 days of rambling nonsense. The "fated mate" trope was revealed, and the jealousy the FMC says she will feel when Damien finds his mate, after barely even interacting with him, that just killed it for me. I don't even care about the story any more to continue. I don't understand what the story is about as the plot supposedly thickens, because it just doesn't make sense.
Aries was kidnapped by fallen angels who work for her sister, who is an abomination. Aries tried to assassinate her brother, but was thwarted by one of those fallen, and then needs to have an orgasm to keep the demon inside her from rising... and then I gave up. The kidnapping was ridiculous, the assassination attempt was even more ridiculous... and the orgasm to stifle the demon queen she snorted which got her exiled in the first place... that was just dumb. It all is.

It had a lot of potential but it bombed

The characters were great but the story line was all over the place we find out at the beginning Aries is possessed by the queen of hell after sniffing her remains we find out why she did it around 36% when her mate the incubus Krave tells the others guys her story but what blew me away was around I think 70% Krave has taken Arie and the guys somewhere safe after her brother almost caught her and they're telling the story of the queen of hell and how her ashes became cursed and all of the sudden Aries is like OMG Catherine (which is who she calls the demons ashes she snorted) is the queen of hell like she didn't know the ashes she snorted belonged to the queen all along it made absolutely no sense that's when I pretty much lost interest and started skimming we didn't get to any juicy stuff til almost the end of the book there is one scene that involved Arie, two of the fallen guys and Krave it was pretty hot but I like my romances with a tad bit more I don't like to wait til the end of the story to get to the good stuff so yeah that's my thoughts on this one I won't be moving on to the second cause really why? I don't see any point the way she ended it irritated me more then anything so I'm pretty sure the next one is just a jumbled mess

This review is for all three books in the series
Low 3 stars

This was a bit of a whimpering fizzle for me; so much potential utterly wasted. The series started out well enough but then seemed to start spinning its wheels and repeating itself. It felt very unfocused.  Whole elements of the plot disappeared and then reappeared with no explanation; the characters were caricatures rather than characters; the editing needs another pass; the ending was a cop-out, and all the "fuckings" drove me nuts.

Let me address this last one first, before anyone mistakes me for a pearl-clutcher. I curse like a sailor. I have no problem with foul language in books. But the use of fucking in this book is overwhelming. It barrelled right the fuck into redundant territory and kept fucking going. I got so fucking tired of reading it. It just became a stutter in the narrative. But worse, every fucking character used it in exactly the same fucking way, which meant it did nothing to differentiate characters. They all sounded exactly the fucking same.

Lastly, and most importantly, there isn't enough story here to carry 500+ pages and nowhere near enough sex to be called porn-without-plot. So, I was bored. Others' experiences may vary.

Eh not quite sure what I read

This book was a hot mess. It was all over the place and I’m still trying to figure out what exactly I read. The plot is basically the female lead wants to save demons from being enslaved... I think? And her mate is an enslaved demon who she treats like crap because he told on her because... you guessed it he’s enslaved. I’m still trying to figure out when she decided her and the group of guys who brought her to her sisters were all cool. I was under the impression she was pissed at them and they hated her... when did the switch flip? The only thing interesting about her was that she was possessed by a queen of hell and that went nowhere. And when the queen tries to take control bad things happen yet there were no scenes of this being delved into? Also it sounded like she didn’t know who exactly possessed her, and she finds that out mid book. Which, is weird because the entity speaks to her so how was that not communicated... idk this was one hot mess of a book with poor development and a sucky plot.
