Stillness is a collection of poetry and prose by Ida-Sofia. Inspired by real life events, Ida writes about moments in time and feelings that come up during love and loss.
This book was written so beautifully. I am not very well versed in poetry but I may explore it more after this. This book had me tearing up and crying at points. I have never had my feelings summed up so perfectly before. It truly was an out of body experience to read the feelings she so eloquently describes as a woman who has gone through the “what could have been” many many times. I recommend this book to any young woman trying to find herself in the world of dating and more importantly falling in love with HERSELF.
This book was a work of art and soul. Filled with nostalgia and what could be, what could have been. Almost. Beautifully done and curated by the lovely Ida-Sofia. Highly recommend for new and regular poetry readers!
Thoughts are so fleeting. We have this continuous internal monologue going at all times, but only moments after a thought passes through our brain, it is gone. Ida has captured some of these lost mental moments and put them down on paper in "Stillness". Perhaps she says it best on page 124, "Our thoughts both creating and undoing". Fortunately, once it's down on paper, it isn't easily undone, and she has created this book out of all kinds of thoughts and moments--slice-of-life, poignant, uplifting, vicious. Through her words, she shares with us our human side. Well done. A magical collection of poetry.
