When I started this book I knew from the first sentence I was going to love this girl.
She was sassy and quirky and I felt like we could have had a laugh tohether...if she was real...and I was sane. Anyway, I liked it from the start.

Not only was it steaming hot, but the story was great and the characters were so well written that I almost felt like I was in that room (I wish!)
Now, as you know I like to give you a wee taste of the sex scenes in my reviews but with this book, it was soo hard! Every part was my favourite.

This author conned me. But, hafta say, I was very happy about it in the end. Told in 1st person, this is the story of Wren, a single woman driving across the country on her own in an extra-large pickup truck while towing a car-hauler trailer. Not exactly a fun holiday road trip. We learn she is a very independent person but feisty, always had been. She knows what her skills are and what her limits are. She knows how to protect herself. She grew to be a beautiful woman and, with all the males flocking around her, she had to learn those protective skills. However, while growing up, she also learned she was different from other women. She found that she was “kinky.” She enjoyed being with Dominant men who could provide her the rough kind of treatment she had learned to crave. So what happens when everything goes south at her first overnight motel stop? What happens when her worst nightmare comes true? -- This author has produced a captivating story. She is a new author but has some real writing chops and, in this book, she draws you immediately into the story and just won’t let go. As the plot built to a peak, I couldn’t pull myself away from this book. The hook was set. The author led me down the path she wanted me to go, and as I rounded the last turn—BAM!—she pulled a real switcheroo! -- Maybe I should have suspected something. But I didn’t. Should have figured it out? Nope. She conned me. But, believe me, I had a blast with how the plot was resolved. The story is short, probably novella length. It could be read standalone as it is, but I understand the author is writing at least 1 follow-up book. When it too is published I will happily buy that one and let her lead me on. Five stars!

This book rubbed me the wrong way.
It has rape play involved, I'll not sugar coat it and call it ,dubious/non-consent as some reviews have. It was straight up rape play. And in a situation where the parties involved don't know one another, have never met, don't know each others boundaries or expectations.
And it was all set up by "friends"....nope.

Oh wow, this was an intense, dark and totally awesome ride! I can't even remember the last time I read a story based entirely on truly raw non-con scene that got me so hyped!
But yes, I admit, If it weren't for the ending and most important - the explanation, I probably would have spoken differently. But as it is now - in my opinion - it’s one of the top novels with a BDSM theme. 🖤
If only it was a few pages longer and the introduction was not so rushed, I would give the highest rating. Now - 8.5/10.

This is seriously dark, fantasy erotica. Non con is explored in a brutal way. I was gasping at times but will definitely be reading book 2 to see where this goes.

I have several issues with this short story. My biggest issue is simply that the BDSM lifestyle is hinged on the fact that safe, sane and CONSENSUAL is such a huge driving force. I have no problem with a non-con fantasy, many people have them. It’s definitely a kink for many, but that really isn’t what this story is about. I am so disappointed in her friends, how dare they, they had NO RIGHT.
Two, there are so many contradictions and I can’t really explain them without giving more parts of the story away because it’s such a short story. An editor or beta reader would help this issue tremendously.
Three, if this wasn’t in KU I would have never read it. The page to price ratio is outrageous. Even putting all three parts together it would still be a short book.

I received this book for an honest ARC review. Thank you, V.T. Bond. I really enjoyed this book. It was a page turner for me. I enjoyed the development of Skylar, Hansel and Alunio's relationship which kept my heart ponding non-stop. I love a good erotic BDSM book with a good story line, suspense, action, romance, steamy scenes and a cliffhanger. The BDSM was so wonderfully done for Skylar This book delivered for me. The book is a great introduction into the series and I know that I will have to read them all, and can't wait! Definitely recommend. Note, is a dark romantic and may have triggers for some. But if you like it dark, dirty and forbidden, then please give this a chance.

Wow. This is phenomenal! Dark, gritty and explosive. Had me hooked from the first page.
What I'm not impressed with is the price for what is technically the beginning of a book... this is not a whole story yet is being changed at the rate of one, meaning you'd pay a fortune if you were to want to read the whole story.
I would love to keep reading Skylar's story but I won't be robbed for the pleasure...

This was a very short, hot read. Depending on how you look at this, it does sort of cross into the area of being rapey, but at the same time, as the reader, it was immediately apparent what was going on here. All it took was for Skylar to admit one of her fantasies and I knew it was one of two things: a dream, or a set up by her friends. I was right, but I won't tell you which it is.
Skylar is on a road trip for her dad, not sure why and for the story it doesn't matter. After 10 hours on the road it's finally time for her to take a break and catch some sleep. I appreciated how careful this author had her be being a lone girl in an unfamiliar location who was trying to stay safe. So that's why I was incredibly frustrated with how she acted when two strangers practically corner her in the pool. But she still stays smart enough to safely get away. It's the middle of the night when these two come to her room, gag her, tie her up and have their way with her. Despite the fact that in her head she knows this really really bad, and she even fights them as hard as she can, her body and her submissive nature betray her completely. She has the most blissed out night of her life and wakes in the morning with one heck of a surprise.
The ending said that her story continues but I'm not going to look for it. Sure this wasn't bad, but I don't care enough to read more.

This was an intense, sexy read and I couldn't pit it down. We meet this girl who doesn't really know herself but as she gets older she discovers what she needs in her life. Skip to where we are at and 2 guys who she feels are sexy hot but feels something off. Next she knows is bam...can we say smoking hot scenes. Come to find out it was just that and now we have to what and what happens next. This book was awesome and I giveit 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy.

Wow - this was certainly a dark story which will shock you and even make you feel uncomfortable. This contains mature content and I cannot stress strongly enough to read the warning and skip it if you are unsure. Easy to read and understand.

This book was mostly just a scene, but there was just enough backstory thrown into the first chapter to make it work for me. I'm not at all a fan of BDSM, but it seemed well written here, and actually had aftercare, which seems like a big deal in that world, and I hardly ever see it. This is one of those books that I feel could have absolutely been combined with the rest of the series to be just one book, which irritates and annoys me, because I see no other reason to split it up, other than a money grab. But that being said, I will likely finish the series at some point.

This book was like my favorite kind of chocolate. . . Dark and delicious! Skylar is a smart woman. She knows she is traveling by herself but she is careful about who is around and what she lets strangers know. Of course this doesn't stop 2 men from sneaking into her room!

This is a hard no from me, and I've read some really dark stuff. The TW should not dance around the fact that this is a rape scene, and the author does a disservice to the BDSM community by mis-representing a scenario that would absolutely not fly.
Also, some of the writing was just cringey for something that was otherwise smut. "Pressed his manhood into my femininity"? Come on.

I was a little reluctant to want to write a review…this is a very specific taste. Read the summary first, don’t go in blind. This is complete noncon; however the “scene” is set up by some bdsm pals after they learn of her secret fantasy. It’s all very fucked up. If you have this kind of kink, you’ll likely enjoy the book.

This is a BDSM Dark romance novella that really sets up Skylar's story as she is traveling alone and decides to take a break and relax. Thats where the story really takes off and really dives into the spice. This book is not for readers that are just dipping their toes into dark romance, but if you want a quick spicy read, this one is it.

It seems author has mixed up non-con, consensual non-con, BDSM etc all into one. She talks about submissive heroine etc. IMO she does not act submissive at all. I am not sure author understands BDSM, Dom and submissive high consept
