Raine

My sister ditched our plans to spend Christmas at the family cabin.

That doesn’t stop me from going anyway.

I arrive, and there’s smoke coming out of the chimney.

And a man’s making breakfast in my kitchen!

Who is this mountain man living in my cabin?
Wyatt

All I wanted was some bacon and pancakes.

But instead I get some strange woman yelling for me to get out.

It’s not her cabin—it’s mine.

When she calls the police, it’s my brother who arrives to arrest her

What if I let her stay? Will I be tempted or will I be tortured?

If you like steamy, happily-ever-after, short stories with rough-around-the-edges guys and sassy, confident women, then this book is for you. NO Cliffhangers and NO cheating.

* Raine is driving up to her dead father's cabin to spend Christmas there, but when she pulls up she sees smoke coming out of the chimney and a man walking around inside.
* She called 911 but when the sheriff arrives he tells her that her father sold the cabin to Wyatt before he died.
* Raine and Wyatt end up eating together and talking.

- Once again pretty similar to the previous book. Meet by mistake, both virgins, both fall in love within an hour of meeting, married and up the duff ridiculously fast.

Raine and her sister Sierra were supposed to go to the family cabin to honor their family tradition. Every Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, they used to spend at the cabin with their father. He passed away this past Spring. When Raine was sixteen, her parents split up. Raine lived with her mom and Sierra stayed with their dad. Raine is already on her way from Helena to Diamond Ridge Mountain when Sierra calls her to say that she is not coming. Sierra and Justin have been trying to have a baby and she is finally pregnant. Raine is happy for them and understands.

Raine pulls up in front of the cabin but is confused. She sees a man in the cabin and there is smoke coming out of the chimney. She knows she is in the right place because the “McCallister Chalet” sign is still there. She calls 911 and tells them there is an intruder in the cabin. Wyatt confronts Raine. She insists that it is her family’s cabin. Wyatt tells her that Jacob McCallister sold it to him a month before he died. Zeb is the sheriff and Wyatt’s brother. When he arrives, Raine start to hyperventilate when she sees how much Zeb and Wyatt look alike. Zeb confirms that she is Jacob’s daughter. He also confirms that Wyatt bought the cabin from her father. Raine says that her sister would have told her. Zeb tells Raine that she needs to talk to Sierra.

The men go outside while Raine calls Sierra. Zeb can see how much Raine is hurting and suggests that Wyatt let her stay for the weekend. He reminds Wyatt that he is still grieving about his fiancé who died in a car accident 12 years ago. Wyatt is mad at Zeb for bringing up his fiancé.

I felt sorry for Raine that the one good memory she had of her father was their time together at the cabin. I was hoping that Raine and Wyatt could help each other heal.

I have to say that I super enjoyed it. Yes it’s insta-love to the extreme but it’s well written with a full storyline and wonderful characters. I smiled through the whole thing.

That being said, it’s pretty insane to do a whole series where everyone on this mountain are virgins some of them even in their mid thirties. I mean this guy had a 3 year relationship with a woman he was going to marry and that he deeply loved and didn’t have sex with her but he meets the h and they’re both giving up their virginities the same day they meet? I love stories with virgin characters but I have to buy it. There has to be a plausible reason even if it’s a stretch. Give me an explanation that I can pretend to believe because when you introduce virgin character that are in their thirties it disrupts the story because all I can think about is the ridiculousness of it.

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

The newest Diamond Ridge Mountain Men story is wildly emotional, sexy, fiesty and very sweet at times.

Wyatt is a devastatingly gorgeous mountain man that stole my heart right from the start while Raine's sass and spirit made me grin. And while this story had a HIGH heat level, I was truly amazed most by the depth of the emotion that was found in this particular story. Realistic and a tear jerker, there was moments where I found myself sniffling. Raine and Wyatt have amazingly strong chemistry and their romance is sure drool and envy worthy. A very spectacular romance!

Wyatt gets a MIND BENDING FIVE HEARTFELT STARS!

Very good

This one was so good. I loved all the sappiness throughout the pages. Rains is a lawyer in Helena. She decides to travel back home to Diamond Mountain in order to spend one last time in her dad's cabin. She doesn't really want too but she needs too. Well she gets roped into staying by the sexy mountain man called Wyatt. He engulfs her and ignites her with just one look. Both have a secret or obstacle that could keep them apart or bring them together. It was such a hot read. I love novellas and the passion.

I'd say this was possibly the best one of the three. Loss and love are always intertwined and this was beautifully executed. Raine’s reaction to the cabin was spot on and I loved the ribbons. I'm not a big fan of virgin stories, and it's especially not very believable that both are. I did appreciate the details regarding school and career. That was thought out.

Grab a tissue for this one

I love tales of fiesty heroines and their men. This one tugged on my heart strings. I had to give 4 stars for some typo errors that bugged me but the story was good one. I look forward to reading the Rescued series and see who else on Diamond Mountain finds their love.

Great book
Wyatt was minding his own business when someone showed and called the police and said their was and intruder in their house .
Raine was out side hiding but Wyatt came outside to her and scares the police show up and tell her the cabin is no longer in their family.
Wyatt makes her feel at home cause he left the cabin the same. Makes you keep reading to the end.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I liked the bit of matchmaking from the legend. Raine comes home to find it sold to Wyatt. I liked how once they relax and get to know each other, Wyatt and Raine fall in love. They are just what each other needs.

Out of this series this was my favorite book. I could relate to how Raina was feeling. I laughed when she first met Wyatt. The instant bond they had was awesome. The both helped each other to heal. The real life situations in the book awesome and you can relate to them

So good!

Raine is headed to her family's cabin to say goodbye to her dad. She finds someone in the cabin and calls the cops. I won't spoil it, but her sister is a jerk for not saying anything. Sorry, not sorry. Sweet book!

WYATT

Raine's sister didn't tell her the cabin was sold because I think she wanted her to meet Wyatt. I think her father felt she and Wyatt would be a good fit and they were spot on.

Another great book

I love Brynn's books!! Raine and Wyatt were so meant to be together. It was fun how he found Goldilocks sleeping in his bed. I love their descriptions of the scenes, their cabins and the people very visual in my mind, thanks. Written by Cindy :)

Great

Fast pace beautiful love with lot of emotional drama from past. But this story has so many tender, beautiful and soul-sharing moments between the couple. Probably would have liked to be a bit more extended, to get the characters to know better. Great!

Every once in a while, a book wraps itself around your heart in quiet, unexpected ways—WYATT by Brynn Hale did exactly that. It's a story about grief, healing, love that sneaks up on you, and the ways we find our way home—even if we don’t realize we’re looking for it.

Raine didn’t come to Diamond Mountain to fall in love. She came to say goodbye—to a cabin that holds her father’s ghost, her childhood memories, and every piece of her heart that’s been aching since he passed. As a successful lawyer, she's used to logic and control. But loss? That’s messy. That’s emotional. That’s… out of her hands.

Only when she gets there, the cabin isn’t hers anymore.

Enter Wyatt. Quiet, respectful, strong in that unshakable mountain-man way. He’s purchased the cabin, exactly as her father left it—family photos still on the walls, memories sealed in time. He didn’t change a thing. Not out of laziness, but love. And when Raine arrives, heart already fraying at the edges, she doesn’t just break—she lashes out. I felt her grief. I felt her fury. And I loved that Brynn Hale gave her permission to feel all of it—ugly and unfiltered.

And then Wyatt steps in—not to fix her, but to stand with her.

What unfolds is a slow, tender unraveling of two people who've been deeply hurt. Raine by loss and betrayal. Wyatt by the tragic death of his fiancée. Their pain is different, but the loneliness? That’s the same. So when they begin to talk—and really see each other—it’s more than just chemistry. It’s connection. It’s understanding. It’s healing in the purest form.

The moment that got me? When Raine tries to burn the family photos in her fury and Wyatt won’t let her. Not because they’re just photos, but because he knows—one day, when the storm passes—those memories will matter. That right there? That’s love before it even has a name.

What makes this story really special is the quiet revelation that Raine’s dad knew. He saw something in Wyatt. Trusted that this man would hold Raine’s grief—and heart—with care. And whether or not he planned it all, you can’t help but believe that maybe, just maybe… some people are placed in our path for a reason.

Raine needed a break, so she headed to her father's cabin in the mountains, but when she got there, she found Wyatt there. Wyatt, it turns out, is the new owner. He bought the cabin exactly how Raine's father left it. This is an emotionally charged read that really tugged at my heartstrings. I lost my father one year ago, so I understood exactly what Raine was going through. These two go through a lot in this novella, but it made their love that much stronger. Great writing and a heartbreakingly beautiful love story make this a five star read. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
