Frankly, I can't believe that the author of this book is a native English speaker as it is so incredibly poorly written. Yet his bio at Amazon says he is Australian The author does not know how to communicate. He not only uses the wrong forms of words, but he also uses words in the completely wrong context, so much so that I felt like I almost got a headache trying to read this book. Perhaps that's how he's trying to help us stop overthinking, making his words so hard to read that it is difficult to think at all, let alone overthink.
Here is an example of a few sentences from the book. I think you will agree that they are hard to parse. “Excessive thought can kill any chances of the impact of self-belief. There are important considerations. It is important to analyses every circumstance of your daily life before we approach it, but we too often swirl around a lake of psychological stress and confusion because we overthink.”
Another one was: “Are you somebody that likes to overthink stuff? Nonetheless, what exactly is overthinking? This book explains precisely what overthinking is and how it can stop your efficiency, productivity and mood from being reduced. Do not allow overthrow to interfere with your ability to take the requisite risks, to help others and to make the most productive efforts.”
Yikes.
I did check the first 10% at Amazon, and none of the apparent errors have been fixed in the published edition.
If you have an interest in this topic, I'm sure there are better-written ones out there. I suggest giving this one a hard pass.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
