Another Excellent Story

Another excellent story in the DC Cooper ser ok red with lots of the usual characters. A great storyline and one that was easy to follow. Being played out in the area in which I live made it more easier to read a follow. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series that I have already purchased.

This instalment of the DCI Cooper series has opened up so that we can read from the perspectives of different characters, better introducing us to some of the characters who are going to be permanent features.

My favourite character is still Tina, Cooper’s teenage daughter – she’s a complex character who has to navigate through the difficult times she’s living in. Her mum is recovering from cancer and her dad is recently back in her life, as well as all the fallout from the last book. She deals with it all incredibly gracefully but I still find my heart going out to her, there’s no way a teenager can keep up that level of responsibility before something breaks.

This book contains two main cases which are both dramatic, Cooper is taken off her original case and is now working on another one while covertly investigating the other. For this reason, you have to work out what’s connected to which case as things start happening.

This series is a great balance of procedural and personal drama, I come for the crime and stay for the hand reared baby seagull in a box!

2nd book in this new author and series for me.

The story had more depth than the 1st book and the characters increasing in their personalities and their personal lives and crisis within those. Police procedural good, and you feel the intense pressure they are under to find clues for the crimes.

There is humour interwoven through the story as a way for the team to distress, relief stress, and what they witness.

It is an easy read that the words flow over the pages, and before you realise, you have finished the book.

reverting

This book was brilliant I’ve just started reading B Baskervilles books and I’m well and truly hooked this was none stop I couldn’t put it down I love how you get the insight of Erica’s home life to get to know her character but it keeps you guessing right to the end and I never would of thought who it turned out to be so exciting this book was and now I can’t wait to get stuck into the next instalment

This is the second book in the DCI Cooper series and like the first book I absolutely loved it. Fast paced with plenty of twists in the plot to keep you guessing throughout the book. Great development of characters, Cooper is a brilliant character and the plot line develops her story really well. Can’t wait to start book 3!

The 2nd outing for the wonderful Erica Cooper. Fast paced with some unexpected twists. I like the way this author can write multiple storylines without over complicating the reader. Tina is still my favourite character and adds a bit of fun to the book. A series I will be continuing with

Good follow up to the last one, and like the references to how much time had passed and where they were at with the trial. Interesting story, and the two cases weaved together was done well and not too confusing. Solid read

Ups, downs, twists and turns. Good story well written. Some books are slow and tedious but not these. I was up until the early hours I had to finish it. Poor Erica, will she find romance?

A good read. Still plagued by endless character and again multiple crimes. Despite loosing track of names (and sometimes who were the bad guys and who were the good’uns) I quite enjoyed the book.
