Dnf at 30%

( review contains spoilers )

So i was quiet excited for this book but it turned out to be a disappointment for me. I love books where the hero is a bodyguard but in this one i really didnt feel the connection between Summer and Ronan. They were attracted to each other and mentioned how turned on they were but it was all over the place. It was a slow burn but it was so slow that i lost my interest, i wouldnt even call it a slow burn cuz the conversation between the two main characters kept repeating through out 30%, it was same thing over and over again. Their story wasnt moving forward, the whole 30% was one day.....it was that slow. So the story is about Dj summer and a guy tries to break into her house, she doesnt want a bodyguard but her friends forces her to get one and when she does she keeps asking the same thing again and again and again like in each page she asks the same thing. “ what do you do” “ am i safe” “ when will you leave”, literally these three sentences are repeated in every chapter.

The heroine tries to pretend she is strong but she is so dumb and stupid. A guy tried to break into her house and she keeps defending him, she kept hiding things from her bodyguard and police about the guy so it wont make his case complicated and i am like 😑😑😑. The whole breaking into her house kept dragging and i got so bored, i thought i might like this book because of the bodyguard trope but it was just boring.

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Book Length: Long Novel
POV: Alternating Dual
Setting: Vancouver, Canada
Hero: Ronan is a personal bodyguard and owner of a protection agency. He’s 35, muscular and handsome.
Heroine: Summer is a DJ and kind of in a new band (this part was weird to me, they didn't really ever play together). She’s a girl that loves to party and experience all life has to offer.
Heat Level: Medium
Frequency of Sex: Medium
Angst Level: Low
Standalone or Series: Standalone
Cliffhanger: No
Epilogue: Yes, but not much of one.
Thoughts on Ending: OK ending, all conflicts were resolved but wasn’t very satisfying.
Would I Recommend? Maybe
My Review: This was an OK read. The dialogue and story development was a bit boring and slow and I honestly started skimming to get to better parts. I didn’t really feel the connection between H/h. They each thought about the other being hot and attractive, but it was such a slow burn that I was losing interest. Summer was kind of loose with her affections, she seemed to lust after everyone, which really put me off to her. Not very impressed with this book, it was just OK for me.
Disclosures: I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Loved It!!

This is book three in the Players series and I have to say that this series just keeps getting better and better. DJ Summer Sorenson was all that on the music scene playing at sold out clubs and everyone eating out of the palm of her hand when she played her music. The girl knew how to party and take care of her friends. She was hitting her last stages of performing as DJ Summer because she was about to embark on her dream job of forming a band with three other guys were great rockers in their own rights. The beginning of the year and she would be doing exactly what she wanted to on her way to becoming a rock star herself.

Summer had a problem though and it was in the form of a creeper/fan? who tried to make their way into her bedroom. The cops arrived on the scene with their canine who aptly took the intruder down. Brody was her new band’s manager and without a doubt he wanted full time security on Summer and now. Ronan was the owner of the security firm and was at Summer’s place before the cops even left. Even as beautiful as Summer was Ronan knew that he couldn’t mix work with pleasure so he tried to keep his distance.

This story was full of twists and turns and the suspense was great. It didn’t end there because the chemistry between Ronan and Summer was pretty smokin’. I loved the push/pull of these two. I also loved the humor that was thrown in at times which made this an all-around 5 star book for me!! This author never disappoints and I look forward to what’s coming next.

Ronan Sterling has just had a 'retirement' party to celebrate the fact that he won't be a personal bodyguard to someone again. However when leaving that party he gets a call from a client Brody Mason about one of Brody's clients experiencing a break in at her house. When he arrives he meets the sexy, strong, independent DJ Summer, or Summer Sorenson and is immediately drawn to her case. Despite being 'done' with personal security he takes her case and decides to act as personal bodyguard at least for the time being.
Summer is reluctant to take on personal security despite the break in to her house and the fact that she knew the man who tried to break in. She doesn't like the loss of independence and goes between being annoyed by Ronan and being deeply attracted to him. Ronan is also attracted to her but refuses to act on his attraction because she is his client.
Eventually the two give into the attraction and discover the more they get to know one another the more they like each other. However Ronan still is keeping secrets from Summer. When the man who broke in to Summer's house is finally dealt with and Ronan and Summer admit they are falling for one another and talk about the pasts it seems the two are headed toward a happy ending but Ronan still has secrets he needs to talk to Summer about.
I really liked Ronan's alpha ways and the fact that he was the strong silent type. I loved how Summer was his opposite always with people around and always up for a party. I thought they really evened each other out. I really rooted for this couple throughout the entire book and loved their dynamic. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Sweet Temptation is another brilliant and entertaining installment in this author’s rockstar series, Players! To say that I devoured this book is an understatement. I was immediately immersed within the story from the first page and I found myself enthralled until the very end. This book has something for everyone with a swoon worthy hero & a strong heroine, an underlying mystery with a thread of suspense, a smattering of humor, and some steamy, kindle melting moments.

Ronan manages his own security company and had plans to assign another bodyguard to Summer’s case, but the moment he lays eyes on her, he just knows he needs to protect her himself. He takes his role as bodyguard very seriously and grapples with his attraction towards Summer. I positively adored Ronan. I wouldn’t minding have this scrumptious man with a protective nature as my book boyfriend. While he is commanding, he also possesses a calming presence. He can be serious, but he occasionally responds with dry wit which I found humorous and made him even more desirable.

Summer is an absolute breathe of fresh air. She has a vibrant, flirty personality that I loved and she is like a magnetic force of energy that draws everyone into her orbit. I found her character to be rather interesting. She loves to throw parties, but I wouldn’t call her a party girl. Her heart is huge and her sassiness are what endeared her to me. I am not one for dance music nor do I know much about DJs, but I now consider myself enlightened. The author highlights just how complex her career is and I loved discovering the inner workings surrounding her profession.

Now let’s talk about these two together because the chemistry was off the charts! There was so much palpable tension during the first half of the book that I just knew when they finally came together it would be explosive. Holy hotness! I thought my kindle would spontaneously combust.

This book has a lot going on in it and it flows together perfectly. There is an intriguing, underlying mystery that creates an interesting dynamic between some of the characters whiles also lending itself to moments of suspense and action. There is also some rather hilarious one-liners and scenes interspersed throughout the book. I nearly snorted coffee out of my nose during one such scene.

While Sweet Temptation is book 3 in this author’s Players series, I do believe you could read it as a standalone. However, I highly recommend reading the previous two books for the ultimate experience and also because there is some character overlap. In terms of secondary characters, it was great fun to catch up with Ash, Xander, and their significant others as well as the multiple scenes with Elle from the Dirty series.

In case you can’t tell, I loved this book. I found the storyline to be interesting & engaging and the characters were captivating and well developed. If you have enjoyed any of this author’s previous works or you are looking for a unique, rockstar romantic suspense, then you’ll want to check out Sweet Temptation!

Notice my ARC review is not here under the actual real cover, so TRYING to repost! Will I succeed?

Music is constantly bubbling through DJ Summer Sorenson's mind and she wants to share it with the world. To her, it's happiness and her reason to be. She is a gorgeous, sexy diva- the epitome of a social butterfly, drawing in her loyal following with that relentless beat until the crowd is begging for more.

Summer is always ready and willing to get the party started, wherever she can! So...what's this independant, fun loving woman gonna do when a threat spins it's ugly web of fear, leaving worry for her safety and freedom in its wake?

The answer comes in the form of a quietly cool, big, bad and broody alpha- Ronan Sterling. This confident, hunky bodyguard, her newly appointed protector, finds out exactly what he's signing up for when he's dropped right into Summer's crazy world, putting a huge crimp in her very free spirited way of life! Summer's wild assortment of colorful friends fits her style and adds to the fun of this story.

If there was ever a case of two distinctly opposite people and worlds colliding, this has got to be it! The push and pull frustrates Summer as it challenges the calm, cool and collected Ronan's well ordered life.
All the while, a swoony, steamy and sizzling attraction that won't quit, is slowly simmering, just under the radar and it's sooooo H.O. T., I might just need a fan!

The witty banter flows and hilarious scenes are tucked into the more serious side of Summer and Ronan's story- M-rated tee shirt sightings and drinking games gone wrong are a few of my favorites. Combined with a suspenseful, tense and twisted backdrop, this story will keep you guessing until the end. I loved the mix of dirty dance parties, fun Players sightings, along with a heaping helping of MC drama that definitely stirs the pot.

You'll be reading long past your bedtime as you watch Summer's warm, flirty presence thaws the ice around Ronan's withered, selfless heart. Fall more and more in love with favorite characters- past and present, maybe a few new ones too, while they continue to melt your heart with their exciting, unpredictable stories.

What a trip to stand back and take it all in as this tasty new book- Sweet Temptation, secures its place as another in a long line of favorites by Jaine Diamond. This author never fails to impress me with her flawless writing style, her amazing rockstar worlds, so full of yummy goodness- a place I love to spend as much time as possible in. She has captured my heart again as the epilogue left me with the very best of feels and a sigh of happiness in the end.

Now, it seems the next story in the Players world has chosen its leading lady and I can't wait to find out who will be the one to steal her heart. Sounds so good to me!

An early copy was generously provided and this is my honest opinion of it.

2🌶

* Rock Star Romance
* Forbidden Romance

If you read Filthy Beautiful, you will have ended the book believing that Summer's future man will be Elle's stoic bodyguard Flynn. This does not turn out to be the case.

"There’s someone else…"

Summer is an independent woman. She is used to taking care of herself and ignoring her celebrity status. It annoys her to no end when the "men" in her life take over and start making decisions about her safety behind her back. She doesn't want a bodyguard. She doesn't want a security system. She wants her house key where her friends can find it. She wants to party without worry. She wants her life back the way it was before a stalker tried to break in, and the "men" started making decisions.

Ronan is the bodyguard she didn't know she needed. He was supposed to be retiring until Brody calls him in, and he meets Summer. Instant attraction meets professional boundaries when he takes the job he morally should have walked away from. Now, he is falling for his "client" while he tries to protect her life and his feelings.

This tale has nowhere near as much spice as the other books in Diamond's rock star series. The characters spend a lot of time pining for each other, but they also spend quite a bit of time just getting to know each other and vibe together. This gives the reader a real feel for Summer and Ronan as people, fleshed out with pasts and futures.

The writing flows effortlessly and draws you in. The characters have enough depth that they are easy to care about but not so much that the book becomes long-winded. It is an easy to enjoy book all around.

Another great book in the Players/Dirty universe. If you haven’t already, definitely check out the books that come before this one. Summer is a fun-loving, successful DJ that appears throughout the Dirty & Players series. She is Elle’s good friend & Ash’s ex. It’s great to finally get inside her head.
We quickly find out Summer isn’t as cool & collected as she always seems. Under all that sparkle, she has vulnerabilities, insecurities, & sh*t days.
After an attempted break in @ her house, her band’s manager & her friends insist she have full-time security. She’s not happy about it @ first, but the man sent to help her definitely makes her feel safe. Among other things...
Ronan runs a successful security company & has just retired from personally handling the bodyguard side of things. His plans change when he meets Summer.
Love the slow burn of this one, even though sparks fly early. I’ve read plenty of books where the male lead comes off as an alpha jerk. Not so with Ronan. He simply seems confident, quiet, calm, & in control. No wonder Summer’s willing to listen to him. Lots of funny banter & great scenes when Ronan finally caves.
Also like the mystery mixed into the story. Not knowing what’s driving the creep, or when/where he’s going to show up, makes for good suspense amongst the sizzle.
I’m glad a bit of the Flynn story was included. Since many thought he’d be the male lead in Summer’s story, it was interesting to find out why he wasn’t.

I’m looking forward to the upcoming bonus Ash & Danica epilogue mentioned @ the end of this one!

Add it to the Collection!

Another great entry in the Dirty/Players rock and roll world! Summer has always been one of my favorite characters and watching her story play out was so satisfying and met every part of what I’d imagined for her. Well, except for her man which I had envisioned as Flynn. BUT, who Summer finds is just SO MUCH MORE! (and author Jaine made it clear in this book that Flynn was not the personality for Summer after all) Ronan was the perfect-for-Summer alpha man I didn’t even see coming. Wow is he hot and alpha and amazing!!! Intriguing subplot, some glimpses of other couples and updates to their lives, familiar characters and friends fill in as the back and forth, gradual romance builds with Summer and Ronan. It’s a slow, but not too slow, build towards a hot combo of two free, independent, caring and strong willed people. Well written and easy to read, just like all of Jaine’s books. Highly recommend! Already anxious for the next entry and to find out who the next leading man is (we get a big hint as to how the leading lady is in this book)!!!

Like so many other fans, I wait patiently for each new release from Jaine Diamond.

Sweet Temptation did NOT disappoint. Summer has appeared in all of the other Dirty Books, and it was so fun to get to know her and learn more about her depth of character. Ronan's alphaness was sexy, and you could feel the heat smoldering off of the two of them from the very first page.

I love the sense of "danger" and intrigue in this rocker romance that Brody's affiliation with motorcycle clubs (gangs?) weaves throughout this series. It's like having the best of all worlds - Rockstars and Sons of Anarchy - all wrapped up in a bow. (Or a sparkly, white feathered headress in this case).

All in all, I loved every second of it and was sad when it was over.

Loved, loved, loved this book! I don't wanna give to much away but it seems like Jaine is opening up options for her writing direction once the Players series is complete - don't worry though, this book still has all the good stuff we have come to expect from a Jaine Diamond novel... just a little less focus on the 'rock star' feel in this book. I must admit, this series is definitely very different to what I was expecting when it started out. I'm starting to wonder if we will get to see the Players actually perform together before it is done??? No complaints, though - it is still brilliant and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance read.

Steamy Hot!!

Loved this book!!! Jaine Diamond had me wondering until the end what was up with Blair… I had knots thinking of all the possibilities. Ronan and Summer really were HOT!!!! There was no way he could keep away from her! He was head over heels ❤️. I love Summer’s big personality and how she isn’t afraid to voice what she wants. Ronan was way more quiet about his feelings but when they came out, they came out BIG!! It was interesting to have more of the MC and Piper involved in this book. He can do nice things but be such a ruthless jerk…can’t say I love him.

I picked up this book from reading a short excerpt on a Facebook ad. See! Those ads do work. The excerpt was fun and flirty so I decided to download it. Did it live up to the excerpt? Not really. I didn't like Summer. She's brash, bold, full of sass and disregard for her own safety. The ultimate party girl. She also didn't like being inconvenienced and didn't like her life changed by having a bodyguard where there's serious danger to her person. She bounces between being a brat and being reasonable or at least trying to be reasonable, so I don't completely hate her. As for Ronan. Mmmmm... Ronan is delicious. He's the perfect bodyguard, but also the strong, silent type. He's not broody, just that he keeps things close to his chest and he has total control over his feelings and reactions. I did love all the chapters I read with his point of view because I loved being in his head. The times when his thoughts and his imagination runs away from him were delightful. As I was reading this book, I kept thinking I was bored and wanting to stop reading. The only reason I kept going for as long as I did was because I loved Ronan and wanted to read more of him. Maybe I should just only read his chapters? And I should have paid attention to the word count before I started reading. It is a long a** book. A very, very long a** book. I'm not a fan of extremely long books if they are not engaging. Then they feel like a slog. And this book mostly felt like a slog with some bright moments. The pacing is slow and it's a slow burn. Someone should have warned me it was slow burn. I do not like slow burn. There needs to be more action too. Did I mention it's kind of boring? Sigh.
PS. After I wrote the first part of this review, I went back to give the book a second shot. Sometimes venting about the book helps me to refocus and I catch a second wind. I was still annoyed as heck by Summer and couldn't bring myself to like her, even though I'm reading the book and I'm thinking "if I'm reading it, I must like it, right?" but no. I just got sucked right back into Ronan's point of view and his strong, silent, alpha self. I kept reading and got increasingly annoyed with myself. I finally stopped in the middle of a paragraph to go to sleep since it was getting late. I picked up the book again in the morning and read a few more chapters all the while getting more and more annoyed with myself for continuing to read since I wasn't even enjoying it but getting sucked in at the same time. And you know when I decided I had enough? When Ronan couldn't resist anymore and kissed her for the first time. I legit stopped reading at the first kiss, in the middle of the scene. Who does that? Then I skipped to the end and read the last chapter. They got their happy ever after and I didn't even find out if they solved the threat to Summer. I assume they did. Ah well... Oh, one other thing. The whole rock star lifestyle? Not my thing. I mean I've read a few rock star romance and enjoyed them. Nalini Singh's Rock Kiss series is fantastic. But what I didn't enjoy in this book was the parties, the drugs, the alcohol. Summer didn't partake in it but she also turned a blind eye to it and accepted it when others around her were doing it. I found the whole thing rather unappealing. Not saying I'm never reading another rock star romance. Only that I don't enjoy certain aspects of it so I prefer when authors don't focus on it as much.
PPS. This book left me feeling very cranky and it ruined my book reading mojo.

Sweet Temptation is the third book in the Players series by Jaine Diamond. Each book can be read in the series by I do recommend reading the series since it’s amazingly sexy and fun! I have been following these characters since the Dirty series and have loved each and every story. If you have too and disappointed that Summer doesn’t end up with Flynn, don’t worry...Jaine knows what she is doing! Trust. Her.

Summer doesn’t want or need his protection. She never needed a bodyguard before and she sure as hell doesn’t want one now but it’s happening. She didn’t want some Alpha a-hole telling her who and where she could go for a good time. Her job as an DJ was to make people party and have a good time. She couldn’t do that with him all up in her business. Ronan. A sexy and top of the line bodyguard who was going to be by her side 24/7. In her home. In the clubs. Everywhere. She might as well flirt with him, right? Keep him on his toes. Only she wanted him. Bad. And he is all...”it’s improper.” Fine. She can be good.

Ronan knew he was in trouble the minute he saw her. She was beautiful, sassy, and trouble. Temptation. He said he was done with being a bodyguard. That was until he saw her and knew he wanted to protect her. He saw right through her sass. She acted like she didn’t want him there but needed him. The fight in her just turned him on. He never crossed the line with a client. Ever. He was so fucked.

I loved this story!! Ronan is Alpha with a side of sweetness, swoon, and wit. Summer is a beautiful badass with a romantic side. Together, they are fire!! I laughed. Cried. Swooned. Flushed. It was awesome catching up with the group. God, I love the Dirty and Player family. I am excited about the next book. I have a feeling I know who is up next but not 100%. Either way, it’s going to be awesome.

Quotes:

“I’m impressed. He looks like he could choke someone out while he fucks you up against the wall.”
I almost choked on my water. “Doesn’t he, though,” Summer said, and I could feel them both checking me out.

There was a giant purple elephant sculpture up in a tree, for some reason. There was also what looked like an Ewok village in the woods. (*I love Ewoks so had to add this one!)

“I like your style, Ronan Sterling.”

Sweet Temptation is the latest installment in this Jaine Diamonds rockstar series, Players! Players is her second series that leads on from where her Dirty Series left off, you still get to hear about all the characters you’ve loved along the way but through a completely different perspective.

DJ Summer, has been a joyously entertaining character in the Dirty/Players universe and it was amazing to see her character finally get her own story! Summer lives for her music, to her it’s happiness and she thrives off the energy that breathes into the people who listen to her. She‘s a party loving diva, the embodiment of a social butterfly, she’s independent and never asks for help, so what happens when the day from hell turns into a living breathing threat, one that removes her comfort, safety and freedom from her home and life?

The answer; Ronan Sterling.

He’s handsome, hunky, confident, brooding and protective, he might be cramping her style as her bodyguard but he has a soft side that’s Summer sized.

Summer and Ronan, well the chemistry was off the charts! The first half of the book was full of angst, denial and palpable tension, the kind that you know will combust when it finally implodes! Their characters are complete opposites, but the way they challenge each other is utter perfection.

I loved the supporting characters, the links to previous books and the greater presence of the Kings MC, Piper’s character in particular pulls you in.

To sum it up... Holy Hell!

I devoured this book, it was a tad slow for me at the start but it picked up quickly and I was hooked, I literally found myself captivated until the very end. Character wise you’ve got a handsome, protective alpha hero, and a strong, independent heroine.

Sweet Temptation has a lot going on in it, yet it flows together effortlessly. There’s banter and humour that cause you to literally bust out laughter, there’s an underlying level of suspense, there’s angst, there’s passion - this book has it all! Although the rockstar world is very different to mine, I found the story and characters easy to relate to, this nook just gives you all the feels. It’s everything that you want in a romance.

Those of you who’ve read Diamond’s previous books from both the Dirty and Players series will already be familiar with Summer, the super talented DJ who’s giving up the solo gigs and starting a new adventure with her fellow band mates as part of The Players in the near future however she’s still got a few gigs to play and parties to attend. It’s after one of those parties in her house that she gets a unwanted and unwelcome surprise when she’s woken during the night by someone trying to get into her property, luckily the police manage to get hold of the perpetrator and he’s quickly taken to jail, as a result of the incident Brody the band’s manager decides it time for Summer and the other band members to have security, their very own bodyguards.

Enter Ronan, a man who takes his security seriously, his aim in life is to make people feel safe an secure. When Ronan first meets Summer it’s clear he’s attracted to her and feels more than just the need to protect her, despite trying to keep things strictly professional Ronan finds himself completely captivated by Summer, it’s clear that they’re ideal for one another, she brings out a lighter side to him and once he gives into temptation there’s no going back as the pair navigate their way towards a happily ever after. I loved the progression of their relationship, Summer’s various attempts to bring out Ronan's lighter side out and they way he’d slowly give in were thoroughly enjoyable to read, and there was plenty of other things going on surrounding them which kept me engrossed in this storyline. Featuring characters old and new Sweet Temptation really was a fantastic read, it was great catching up with some of the "old" crew as for the newer faces I really hope we get to hear their stories.

I didn’t think Jaine Diamond’s storytelling could get any better after reading Ash’s book but I was wrong she’s really brought it up a notch and smashed it with Sweet Temptation, now the countdown is on for her next release.

Hot angsts bodyguard romance perfection....

If you were to be in the mood for a sizzling hot angsty stand-alone romance with a touch of forbidden - then this read would be absolutely perfect! I quite like this trope.... the hot alpha bodyguard who is a touch on the surly side, with protective instincts and has the self control of a .... (what has self control? 🙊 Ronan has fried my brain a a little haha)..... and this author did not let me down at all. The chemistry is out of control and when it combusts - it’s off the charts!

Summer is a fun loving free spirit who loves to party and has somewhat of a naive view that everyone is on her heart of gold page - so she cannot imagine why anyone would want to harm her or why a bodyguard is necessary. Ronan has seen more than his fair share of the other walks of life and has no trouble believing that people would want to harm others - and although wanting to move on from the front line and run his security business from behind the scenes.... can’t seem to help his protective instincts kicking in when he sees Summer. The reader can feel the tension between these two - even if Ronan wants to live happily in denial land for a while. There are threats from the outside that results in these two being in close proximity and learning more and more about each other ..... and soon the attraction is so obvious that you almost want to yell at your kindle for them to give in 🤣

The author executes this trope amazingly, and even once this couple combusts - you are still just as hooked and want to see where the story goes. This is not an easy feat to achieve for me. There’s an alpha hero, a strong heroine, a touch of mystery and suspense, there are appearances from old favourite characters, there’s amazingly hoooot steamy scenes and there is humour - a recipe for a must read!

*I received this book free from the author.*

If you've read the Dirty series or the first two books in the Players series then you already know who Summer is. She's DJ Summer, life of the party, always ready for a good time, but in Sweet Temptation we get to delve deeper into the woman behind the music. She's a strong woman with a heart. And an eye for her new bodyguard's butt.

"Did you seriously just pour a drink on a man to get him to stop talking to me?"

Ronan was done taking assignments, he was going to work strictly in the office, but that plan didn't even last twenty-four hours. He knew from the second he saw her that he wasn't walking away. Of course, he wouldn't exactly look deeper as to why.

Two strong personalities clashing together for the sake of a single outcome adds to the tension between Summer and Ronan, but whether she wants to admit it or not, she is in danger, and she does need Ronan. However, once he gets her to finally understand that fact, they're already on their way to being in over their heads.

"This is Ronan. He's a superhero. Super Ronan."

Summer is a fun, energetic, overall happy person and it sucks seeing some of that leaver her, even if only temporary. Ronan, on the other hand, is always stoic. It's business, business, business with him...until Summer cracks his hard exterior.

Like all of the Jaine Diamond books I've read this one is no different when it comes to having the perfect mixture of heart, sass, suspense, and delectable ravishings. With a creepy stalker just out of grasp, blurred professional lines, and the possibility of a little MC drama this book does not disappoint.

With each new book into the Players series, I get MORE and MORE excited about this band and then remember that it is a story and I actually can't go to their concert and get a bit sad. I started reading Jaine Diamond with the Dirty series and immediately fell in love with the stories, characters, and world. Sweet Temptation gives us a lot of characters from the Dirty but also goes into more details about some of them and new ones for the Players series. I am amazed at how Jaine Diamond is able to combine everything together. I HIGHLY suggest that you read the Dirty series before this series, but it is not required, it makes it even better.

Now, back to Sweet Temptation. We delve into Summer Sorensen's, aka DJ Summer, world and mind and it was FASCINATING. This lovely lady is all about good vibes but things change when a scare happens and she is forced to change her life per the recommendations of a new HOT and strict alpha bodyguard. Ronan is one of the HOTTEST main men that I have read in a while and being 100% honest, I absolutely fell in love with this guy. The story is relatable and will give you all the feels. The book has everything that you want in a romance, there is humor and heart and some freaking STEAMY scenes!

All in all, this book is wonderful and this series is AMAZING. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I totally would. You need Sweet Temptation and the Players series in your life as soon as possible! I am on pins and needles wanting to see what happens next in this series!

PS: I did receive an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly.

This was definitely one of the best if not the best of all of Jaine's books and they are all terrific. This seemed different to the others, more gritty and realistic with a bit of a thriller thrown in. I have always loved the DJ Summer character, confident, great friend, ultimate party girl, and a totally bad*** musician, so I was thrilled to get her story.

I loved the Ronan character and while reading I was wondering how long it would take before Summer could break down his barriers and he became totally "unprofessional", well the scene in the car after the party was well worth all the wait, one of the sexiest scene ever!

After the incident at her house Summer is mad at her manager, band mates and Ronan for setting up her security. Being told rather than being asked does not sit well with her and threatens the independence that she is so proud of, but Ronan helps her to see that she is not giving this up by accepting help. Finally she has a man that she can let herself love, who will love her back and be an equal partner.

One of the best things about Jaine's books are that they are set in my home town so I recognize the places she talks about and that makes reading the stories a lot more fun. I was sad to finish this it was so good and I am looking forward to reading more about Summer and Ronan and their life on the road with the Players.

Wow! I loved this book! Summer's story delved so much more into Summer's personality and turned her character into a real person in a readers point of view. She's best friends with El, a successful and sought after DJ, and a woman of depth who knows who she is and what she wants. And she wants Ronan!

After a stalker ups his game and tries to break in her home she ends up with a body guard thanks to Brody's insistance. Enter Ronan! She's indignant at first that she has full time security, but she feels safe with Ronan around and becomes comfortable with him. THEN she notices him...REALLY notices him.

Ronan is a man of few words. He is the best at his job. Owns his on security firm. He fights his attraction to Summer from day ONE. Witty comments are common between the two. He's everything in a man that Summer wants and he's desperately trying to keep a professional relationship. Needless to say the attraction wins out and they finally give in to their feelings. Summer has found her mate as has Ronan.

The book also delves into Jude's MC a little bit more than the others and his brother Piper.

I highly recommend this book. Honestly I think this book if my favorite of the Player series so far.

Take a free spirited, life of the party female and put her with an extremely hot alpha male who is hired to be her bodyguard and you have the smoking hot Sweet Temptation. This being the 3rd book in the series (although can be read as a standalone) we get more than just a peak into DJ Summer's world of hot music, lavish fashion and over the top parties. When there is an attempted break-in at her home it's time for some protection. Enter smoking hot, alpha bodyguard Ronan. Although hired to be her bodyguard for security and protection, he starts to realize he would much rather guard her body from everyone else but him. They are both fiercely independent people with baggage from their own past that influences their ways of thinking about relationships and trust. However, once these two cross that line it is nothing but HOT, HOT, HOT. I love that Summer's character is confident in her sexuality and it's afraid to voice what she wants. The story line keeps your attention and you quickly find yourself invested in these two characters which leads to you not wanting to put this book down until the very end when you find out if they find their HEA or go their separate ways. This is a MUST READ!

Summer & Ronan's story is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Sweet Temptation is the 3rd book in the Players Series and I feel like Jaine Diamond just keeps raising the bar with this series.

Summer is a sassy independent woman who can hold her own as a DJ in the music business and is going on to bigger better things. The only problem now is she needs a bodyguard more sooner rather then later, not that she is going to take one willingly. Ronan was just at his retirement party and swore he was done on the field dealing with clients until a call from Brody changes his mind. Summer soon becomes Ronan's client and he can't seem to let anyone else take over the job. While he's a stubborn and all about fooling the rules and trying to keep things business his desire soon gets the best of him. Summer may not admit she needs protection and may be stubborn and challenging but she can't deny her attraction to her bossy alpha male bodyguard.

Sweet Temptation can be agonizing and leave you begging for more but man when things pick up you will be satisfied for sure. This book is 100% panty dropping hot 🔥 and well worth reading several times.😉😉 It even has some suspense and mystery. I know I can't wait for the next book to be announced!!!😊

I was extremely lucky to receive an ARC for another extraordinary book by Jaine Diamond! Sweet Temptation kept me invested from the very beginning until the epilogue!
Honestly I wasn’t super invested in Summer as a character before starting the book like I had been with Ash or some others. But I had high expectations because I’ve never been disappointed by Jaine Diamond’s books so I was not expecting to be let down this time. I definitely was not let down! I loved learning more about Summer as a person and what her life and career as a DJ was like! Ronan is a swoon worthy alpha bodyguard who swears he has a cold dead heart but really just needed to find the right woman to give his warm heart to! Summer and Ronan were described so well that I feel like I knew them. In any situation I feel like I could say “Ronan would hate that,” or “Summer would love that!”

And they were just perfect for each other and I loved seeing their relationship change and evolve. Their chemistry was also off the charts hot! I had chills!
And the element of danger twisted through the story also had me on the edge of my seat! I definitely didn’t want to put this baby down and finishing it was very bittersweet! I can’t wait for the next one! Sweet Temptation deserves 6 Stars for sure!

Love he book, love the series, love the universe

Another great book in the Dirty universe. I loved it although I’m missing the rock scenes since Players are still not fully formed..
I wish we can go on tour with them soon :)

Summer’s book was great, I loved to see her falling head over heels. I don’t like giving spoilers from the book and I tend to do that if I start writing about the book.. I’ll just say all day at work today my mind has been on finishing things quickly so that I can get back to my kindle to finish the book I started last night.

I’ll talk about some predictions I had about the future of the series though.
At some point I thought Janie was setting up Matt as a third with Ash and Danica with all the comments about Ash missing being in a polygamist relationship. It seems less likely now that I’ve finished this book. Reading the epilogue I guess Matt and Taylor will be next.

Or I’m completely wrong and Taylor will find a new job as Cary’s assistant. My hope for Cary was that he not only produce the record for Players but also break out of his studio and join the freaking band as the second guitar Ash has been hoping for!

I cannot wait to find out what happens next, New Year feels sooooo far away...

OMG so where do I start, this book beyond great! It's hot, funny, thrilling and has all the feels you could want. I so didn't expect to fall head over heels in love with Ronan! But holy cow he is ONE HOT SWEET PROTECTIVE ALPHA! Ask anyone I am Ash girl all the way, still am. But I just found the next best thing. I so enjoyed getting to know Summer on a more personal level than just as friend or a DJ, if you have read the Dirty/Player series you already have a feel for her, but this really let's you in to see what Summer is all about. While going through this book you all get to keep up with the others in past books. And oh my! That a lone is worth the read. But seriously this book is worth reading. I have already read it multiple times! I can't get enough of Summer & Ronan! Oh and tad bit of advice make sure you have plenty of panties on hand because YOU WILL NEED THEM because this book is that HOT!! Jaine Diamond always delivers a fabulous book but this one is diffanty my top 5 of all time. So if you LOVE Alpha , great bantter, sexy fun, love, bodyguard rockstar romance you CAN'T GO WRONG this with Sweet Temptation

I love the Ms. Diamond’s books. This is book 3 of the Players series which is a spinoff of the Dirty series. I loved all the rockers and was excited to read Summer’s story.

Summer Sorensen is the ultimate party girl and hot DJ who is ready to break out and rock out with her new band, the Players. She had a bad day that became worse when a stalker tries to break into her house. Ronan Sterling was called in to protect her and one look at Summer and he knew no one could protect her but him. Summer loved the alpha male and one look at Ronan and she knew she wanted him, he made her feel safe. No matter how hard Ronan tried to fight the attraction because he did not get involved with his clients, he lost.

With the threat of the stalker over her head, Ronan stuck to her like glue. The mystery keeps getting more complicated with Ronan trying to figure out what the threat to Summer was. This book was so unexpected, I loved it. It was a great story and something I hoped would meet the Dirty series expectations, and it SOOOO did. Great job Ms. Diamond, love your books!

I received an advance copy for my honest review.

Can't stop the Music!

I discovered Jaine Diamond's Dirty Series a few months ago and completely fell in love with her world of Rockstars.
I went straight from them into the Players series and the love continues.
Sweet Temptation is the first book I had to wait for, but boy was it worth it.
Although the focus was unexpected ( meaning, It wasn't focused on Flynn which Filthy Beautiful hinted at), I was not at all disappointed. I was immediately thrilled with the Sexy Protector Jaine introduced Summer Too. (I mean Ronan is such sexy name)
This book was everything I hoped for.
It had a great plotline and gaining more insight on Summer was great as I've been interested in her since Hot Mess. The book has a little Danger and is so Sexy... I mean steam up the car windows Sexy.
I absolutely recommend this for all of Jaine Diamond's fans. And if you have stumbled on to this and haven't read the rest. Well go do that first... this whole series is a Sweet Temptation
