What starts as a crazy idea to buy a house for less than the price of a cappuccino, becomes the journey into Olivia Francesca Porcu Martin’s ancestry. The home she purchases was in her family for generations until her grandmother fled to America. Olivia is fleeing but not a war-torn island. She is searching for roots and will find them in a small town in the hills of Sardinia.
Crossing paths with a student traveler named Destiny, opens doors Olivia felt had been closed forever. It doesn’t hurt that the licensed Contractor named Rafaele, who wins the bid to help her remodel her home, is good looking and modest.
Two determined, independent Sardinian souls make Destiny’s job difficult on the best of days. But as we all know, you can’t fight Destiny.
C.L. Kraemer has been a gypsy all her life. From her military child beginnings to her might-not-get-this-chance-again attitude after she left home, she's seen most of the continental United States as well as Hawaii and Alaska. She hopes to travel the world but is content to stay close to her kids and grandkids in the Northwest.
When not chasing down dragons or faeries, she is riding her Harley Davidson Softtail [sometimes behind the hubby], editing or copyediting for a couple publishing houses.
She is also an avid sewer, not the flush the toilet kind but with a machine and material kind. Her most recent challenge has been to create a winter coat with reversible cape.
Sardinia Sunset takes place in the year two-thousand and eighteen. Olivia Francesca Porcu Martin quits her job in Portland, Oregon and flies to Sardinia, Italy to purchase a home in Ollolai, Sardinia, an island west of Italy. The dilapidating homes are selling for one dollar and twenty-five cents to boost Ollolai's declining population. Olivia convinces her friend, Taylor Maxwell to join her on the flight to Sardinia. Taylor will go sightseeing on the island before heading back to Portland. Olivia meets a general contractor who will renovate her house. She's attracted to him. Then Taylor goes missing. Destiny Rose shows up in Olivia's house and convinces her to let her stay in the house while the house is being renovated. There are twist and turns in the plot propelling the reader to a climatic ending.
