About the author

Stuart Land

Stuart’s story ideas come from his vivid imagination, but his inspiration draws from world travel and fascinating careers: from US military medic to hairstylist, then Washington D.C. Police officer to NYC photographer.

Later, he converted a chicken coop in the woods into a live-in studio and taught himself metal sculpture. That rudimentary craft expanded into the fine arts. Sculptures in bronze and fiberglass led to shows in the US, England, and Thailand.

Stuart’s passion for all arts segued into: costume design (top 100 designers in the book, Fashion: 2001); modeling agency art director; fashion show designer; water feature designer, computer illustrator, and a top sculptor for special effects, sets and props in the entertainment industry with work in over thirty major films, hotels, and theme parks worldwide.

During Stuart’s film career, he learned screenwriting firsthand, writing 20 screenplays so far. To explore character and environment more, he took up narrative fiction with short stories and published 14 novels. His writing has won 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and finals in contests, and some of his screenplays sold or optioned.

He continues on the journey.

Review By Gloria Lakritz…Review Chair for the Paranormal Romance Guild
‘Meeting’ an author online is something special. It was almost 10 years ago when Stuart Land and I had the pleasure of communicating when he submitted his new novel ORIGINAL BLOOD: Gailene's Vow. I have followed his work from that moment on.
The talent of this author is boundless, writing screen plays, making a movie, and other wonderful accolades are under his belt. From paranormal, to horror whatever his choice Stuart always hits a Home Run!
When I was contacted by him recently, he asked if I wished to read and review his; telling me it was a Lesbian Romance. Being a review chair for over 10 years I read all genres and certainly accepted it to read. What a surprise! Yes is is a lesbian romance……But so much more.
Until Love is a love story, but in addition the author has given us quite a topical story! This is modern day, and we meet Senator Dorothy Lawrence in DC beginning her campaign to run for President of the US.
Her ‘Team” is a wonderful group of quirky peeps, who adore her, believe in what she stands for, and believe she could win. The First Lady and Dorothy have a history from college, and Dorothy is in her sights to destroy, as she wants another 4 years in the White House.
Stuart Land is a master story teller, and with this books topic is about the good guys and the not so good guys. We are whisked down Pennsylvania Ave, we are at parties at the White House, with all the political skullduggery. then ‘There is Love’ when Dorothy bumps into Deidre and sparks fly.
This is a fast paced story with terrific characters and even better dialogue. All in all a 5 star read….

Stuart grabs you by the imagination and leads you into the upper tier of political players with an added subplot that is so very current. The back office politics of Washington are laid bare in this plot twister accompanied by a love story that is not run of the mill. I kept wondering how much of this is currently going on in today’s policy maker’s real lives. American leaders are enigmas and having so many women power players featuring in Until Love was such a refreshing view. Read what could be truth or dare in this novel from outside the box of most political fiction.

Love, humor, and intrigue are abound in Stuart Land’s Until Love! During her campaign for president, Senator Dorothy runs into (literally) a reporter, the event kicking off a romance with fun, intense, and humorous consequences. I loved Land’s twisting romance between Dorothy and Deirdre and how it laces so well with the strains and showmanship that go with a campaign! This one was fun, heartfelt, and gripping all the way through! Check it out if you love romance or even politics, all with lighthearted elements baked in!

Fast-paced and lively, ‘Until Love’ is just the book we need right now! Deidre & Dot, forever!

A VERY upbeat romance between two women, who often find themselves caught between a rock and a hard place, this love story is brought to life through witty banter and the many personalities with whom Deidre and Dorothy interact.

At first, Dorothy, or Senator Lawrence, as she is called throughout the story, is all business and very little play. Her goal is to be the next president of the United States. Dorothy is largely portrayed as someone who has very little time for b.s., or anything that will not advance her career as a politician—and appropriately so, as most women in American politics are not allowed to be seen as ‘soft’ or ‘vulnerable.’ I found this to be an accurate portrayal of female politicians, regardless of one’s political leanings or affiliation. Dorothy is definitely not allowed time for love, that’s for sure.

Deidre, on the other hand, is the opposite of Dorothy. Quirky and spunky, Deidre is a journalist for a publication called Lesbian Times, although I’m sure her editor would say I’m being generous by calling her a journalist.

When Dorothy and Deidre meet, their worlds collide—figuratively and literally—and Dorothy’s attraction to Deidre is immediate. From there, the two are involved in a series of interactions that draw them into one another’s lives—and arms.

Stuart Land is a good story-teller, and I can appreciate the amount of research that went into writing this book. It’s apparent that he wrote the book with sensitivity and respect for women, the LGBTQ+ community, etc., in mind. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because it is VERY fast-paced, and I didn’t feel like I had enough time to get acquainted with each character, or plot point. You feel as though you are reading the book while on skates, and honestly, that criticism might have more to do with MY personal style of reading, and not his writing.

If you need a break from the never ending news cycle that’s covering the upcoming election in America, I suggest picking this up. You won’t be disappointed.

A Timely Read!
Given the politically charged 2020 presidential election race in the U.S., Stuart Land’s novel is spot-on! A front-runner for this year’s presidential nomination is openly gay. Contrast that to Stuart’s story where the presidential candidate, Dorothy, is secretly a lesbian. When Dorothy is spotted at the Gay Pride parade in Washington D.C., the gloves come off when the First Lady launches an attack against Dorothy and her campaign. She’s determined to crush her husband’s political opponent intent on securing another four years in the White House. Stuart’s cast of colorful characters and lively dialogue takes us into the bedrooms and behind the scenes of high-stakes politics.

If you're looking for a lesbian romance with a political backdrop, a little serious, a little funny, then this might be the perfect summer novel for you. Author Stuart Land has a knack for quick-witted dialogue between an ecclectic cast of characters thrown together in unexpected and imaginative situations. This is one look at how it might be like if you're 'different' in DC.
