“One of the biggest names in urban-fiction.” - Red Carpet Crash on Butterfly
The hardest thing Morgan Atkins has ever done is let go of love. After losing Messiah, she never thought she’d find someone who understood her again. Until she reunited with Ahmeek Harris and their friendship quickly transformed into something deeper, but there was one problem... she was engaged to a man she didn’t love and he’s holding a deadly secret over her head. If that wasn’t enough, her long lost love Messiah returned to claim her as his own.
Three men plus one woman equals inevitable heartbreak. Morgan wants to follow her heart and take the risk of a lifetime, but she risks destroying her family in the process.
Will Morgan enter a loveless marriage? Or will Messiah and Ahmeek fix their brotherhood and work together to save the woman they both love?

Wtf was this? This book was a money grabbing filler book of completely useless dialogue. This book tries very hard to portray Morgan as being all deep with her feelings and the confused damsel in distress, but it's not working. The whole book in a nutshell is, I love Meek, I love Messiah, but meek makes me feel... No Messiah makes me feel... (bitch I don't care anymore). If you are looking for a plot Keep Looking because it's not here. Nothing Happens and I do mean Nothing!
I'm tired. An entire book.Twenty damn chapters and Morgan is right where we left her in book two. Indecisive and hurting every damn body by her actions. Its too much.
I enjoyed the plot of this story overall. However, this book really didn't serve a purpose in this series. It seems as if it was a way to drag out the story. The main points of this book could have been summed up in a couple of chapters. I have been a loyal reader to this series but I was disappointed in this book. I truly hope the next book is the finale.
Honestly, I’m starting to be team Ahmeek. I loved Messiah and I think I wanted M&M together because it was familiar for me. I’ve already seen them in love and I felt like their story got cut short because of Messiah’s illness. I liked the man Messiah was when he was with Morgan. However, he is a bit toxic and I’ve always known this. But it’s becoming a bit much. I’m hoping he grows into a much better man in the next two books, so I still have hope for them. That man is haunted and has demons. Now, Morgan is foul for not telling that man that those are his kids. She is honestly a brat. You’re a mother, she needs to clean up her act soon. These impulsive decisions are getting old fast. I just feel like Ahmeek is a better choice for Morgan. Now why must Ashley disturb Ethic and Alani’s peace?! They’ve already been through so much, now he’s in jail. I cannot. I’m giving this five stars because I’m hooked regardless. I need to know how this series is going to end.

This storyline is DRAGGING! I mean, how many times can you repeat the same thought or line? WE GET IT! Move on! I’m pretty disappointed with this one and seriously over Morgan’s overdramatic ass. 😒
I had 10% left in the book. I was feverishly turning the pages because sh*t was about to get real and then I saw Acknowledgements. Like what now🤷🏽♀️ I’m just left hanging for like another year? It just isn’t right.
In this book I found too many plausible situations. Bleu and Mo were written so weak in this one. Mo completely disappointed at the end. I mean come-on-now🤨 The lead up to Messiah finally knowing the truth and I then seeing his “over-reaction”; it was a bit much.
These are notes. Quick thoughts

I am really not feeling Morgan AT ALL..I feel like this is being dragged out and this was book two all over again with a few added details. She loves whoever is in her presence at the moment. She got all these killas around her and won't tell them this dude is a threat? She know better than that!! Messiah is selfish too, don't like how he's carrying on with Bleu. M&M need to grow up and be together. Meek is too good for Morgan..
When i tell yall i am living for the mess in this book I almost have to laugh– but this is exactly what i needed in a series omg. Anyone who was ever team Messiah though....HUGE side eye. He literally deserves the absolute WORST.
Team Ahmeek all the way since like book 1 literally.
Also Morgan? She stupid. Like. As hell. Cause me personally? Let a man named SEBASTIAN of all things talk to me crazy? LMAOOOOOOOOOO. When i got ride or dies on my CHEEKS basically???? Oh yeah mhm. Morgan deserves all the fault for everything that has transpired. All she had to do was squeal. She is going to have to really redeem herself and Messiah is going to have to stop being ridiculous as well. The way he reacted when he found out the secret? Embarassing. Like you disappeared for two years now YOUR mad i dont want my kids around you?????????? You are basically some strange man who has no emotional regulation be serious 😭
But yeah yall I'm LIVINGGGGGG on to book 4 yes SIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Don't get me wrong I love Ashley Antoinette storyline but this part of the series was unnecessary. Nothing happens in part 3 besides some fluff story filler. You will be 80% into story before there's a reveal. Part 3 could have been summarized in 2 sentences. Honesty not even looking forward to part 4, just tell me if Morgan ends up with Meek or by herself. I'm over this series it has been drawn out for no reason at all.
I read Butterfly 3 in 6 hours! I was so disappointed in Butterfly 2, that I was anxious to get to the “good part” of this one and its hard you enjoy a book when you’re rushing thru it. I don’t particularly like how the book builds your anticipation FOR NOTHING!
Morgan has no backbone. She’s just as weak and discombobulated in this book as she was in Book 2! Morgan tells Messiah the twins are his and he loses his shit, and not in a good way. I didn’t really understand that. Messiah has B wrapped around his finger, another weakling. I’m bored with Aria and Isa’s story line, it’s dead. And have no interest in Henny and Bella... I love Meek! He’s my favorite character.
Can somebody kill Bash already?
The end threw me for a loop. All the reviews about how good the book is is befuddling to me because, did we read the same book? I’m NOT excited about Butterfly 4, I think I’m getting off the bus here.!

Please don't drag this out into 6 plus parts please! Just tell me if Ahmeek Harris is going to be happy its truly the only interest I have in this series not even Morgan storyline Issa is okay but Aria is annoying so it makes Issa not my concern. At this point every other character is just filler
I am so tired of dingbat Morgan and narcissistic, manipulative, selfish, TOXIC a** Messiah!
You mean to tell me that Messiah ran up behind Morgan the entire last two books, but time she tells him about the twins, he declares they're done, and NOW she's afraid to lose him AGAIN, AFTER she's been pushing him away and being wary of him the past 2 books?! He has the audacity to be mad when he's the one who disappeared for two years?!?!! And are we going to forget that Messiah is the one that had the dance studio shot up? And Ethic and Alani promoting this bullsh** relationship... I JUST CANT.
Please lay this story to rest with the next book. The only reason I'm committed to finishing is because I'm nosey and hope this dummy finally chooses Ahmeek. Otherwise I would have been given up. I have never despised main characters this much before.
All the feelings and emotions bleeding all over the place with no dam to catch them. 🙄 UGH! I be aggravated AF after reading these books.

I knew Ash couldn’t let us be happy. I was on edge nearly the entire book. Let me just say, I still feel the same way about wanting Morgan to be happy however Ashley had to bring us full circle. That by itself hurt. Ashley took her time with this one and the work is quality. I am the biggest critic of her leaving stones unturned and not being the best at timelines and playing tricks with the readers. This book deserves accolades for the simple fact that she came straight with everything. The biggest critique I have is the fact that Bleu for me, just doesn’t belong in this novel in the way that she is. Ash will have to change my mind or maybe not. Bleu done loved everybody right ? I’m not a fan of her sort of messing up past series. I think it’s unfair to those main characters. Same with Ya-ya. I mean there should be no disrespect tolerated for the past MCs! I’ve been an Alani hater. I can admit it. I still won’t take back what I said about that. What I will say is I like her now. I like what Ash did with her in this installment. Still team Ya-ya all day though. Good writing means an author can take a heroine or hero and take them to the lowest. Make them seem un redeemable and then make them win in the end— and it makes sense. I think Ash demonstrated it in Prada Plan. I’m wondering how she will pull Morgan out of this. Because where I’m sitting it doesn’t look good at all. I want this to be about Morgan. I do. I’m selfish for her because she deserves this. Stop allowing Bleu to steal the spotlight. I was team Ahmeek. I’m side-eying him because what happened to all of that I’m always gonna be there no matter what ? Same with Messiah. He was begging like Keith Sweat until one moment. When is Morgan going to win??? Now she’s in an impossible situation because of her slip in judgment. Love the Henny and Bella story. It wasn’t enough of them in this one. I think Ash is trying to stretch their timeline to grow them up before she can give us what we really want. I know how times have changed and how sensitive people are so we’re probably not getting anything really good from them for a year or so— maybe when Bella graduates and is of age I guess? Listen if I didn’t enjoy anything else I enjoyed them twins ya hear me😂 I love them. Aria and Isa -love them, but they didn’t really have a moment in this installment. There were so many funny moments and tender moments with them in the past. Ashley this is a really good series. It’s painful, but not in the way Ethic was. This is not unnecessary. I do however want the pain to end okay? Where is the love? Y’all remember that song from the day ? It’s not in this one. But there is a story that’s really good here. Oh and the abrupt ending was disrespectful. That’s all.
“Butterfly 3” is the highly anticipated third installment in the Butterfly series by Ashley Antoinette. If you have been following along up until this point, then you know just how drama filled this series is. This time was no different. It picks up right after the events of Butterfly 2. All of our favorite characters are back and so much is at stake.
I found myself pulled in so many different directions. By the end of the second book, I was rooting for a certain character but after reading this book, I'm torn. At one point, I wanted to hop into the pages and tell a certain somebody to put herself first, and no, I am not speaking about Morgan. But on the topic of Morgan, I definitely questioned some of the choices and actions that she made throughout the book. I really enjoy seeing the character development and growth that everyone is going through. The pacing was just right.
"Butterfly 3" really took me through my emotions. There was so much deceit, passion, betrayal, and of course, drama. The last couple of chapters really had me over here stressed out! Questions were answered, secrets were revealed, but the aftermath of it all left me reeling! There is so much I want to say but I will leave it at that. I look forward to reading Butterfly 4.
"Surving Ashley Antoinette" Somebody call LMN and tell them I'm ready to tell my story!
Butterfly 3 is my absolute favorite of this series. I dont think I've ever been so in love, so mad, so confused and sympathetic for every character ever! All emotions got pulled out of me this go around. The star of this book was my nephew Messari with his cute self!
Morgan and Messiah need to coparent and everybody need to go on Iyanla Fix My Life. They need 3 episodes 1. Morgan Atkins 2. An Intervention for Morgan Atkins 3. An Intervention for MIA
No I hate that I love and hate Ashley's guts right now. I agree that book 3 was the best out of the Butterfly series. I agree with the amount of tears shed on and in these pages. What I don't agree with is how folks don't see the growth of all these characters. How they are all growing from so much pain just to get to their happy place. These growing pains are real! Ashley made her pen bleed and i felt every single cut. Every single slash. And i am ready to experience it again in book 4.
The best book from this series yet! I loved every second of it snd can’t wait for book 4 😩 Messiah, my messiah really showed up this book, but truly these characters are all like a part of me. I pray this love triangle doesn’t leave us more heart broken than it already has, I don’t think I can take it. Such a good book Ashley you certainly wrote the hell out of this one.
My anxiety so bad after reading this. So Messiah finally knows huh. I was hard down TeamMessiah but they way he want his cake and eat it too behind Bleu I’m not on nobody team. 🙁
Let Livi have Meek. I like her honestly but We know where Meek heart is. Smh
Morgan is so TOXIC. I am too but this not about me 😫🤣 Because why would you hide the fact that he was the father of those children? Now you stressed. & All she had to do from jump is tell Ethic the situation with Bash & it would’ve been handled. Ethic has secrets too I’m sure he would’ve forgiven her.
Now everybody in jail because you dumb! Poor Henny we know Bella not about to hold you down in jail. I already know how many years he got somebody spoiled it for me. 🙄
I LOVE Aria and Isa so much but I don’t see them lasting.
I’m definitely not reading B4 until B5 comes out. No ma’am‼️
WHY IS ALANI STILL PREGNANT ?

Spoiler alert!! I don’t know who I hate more, Bash or Morgan. Bash is a thirsty, sorry control freak that has to resort to desperate means to get what he wants. And Morgan doesn’t act like she was raised by Benny and Ethic. She’s as dumb as a rock and a repeat of Raven. If there’s a bad decision to be made, she’s the one to make it. I just hope everybody doesn’t have to pay for her foolishness. I’m going to find some wine. SMH.
This book right hereeeeeeee 😫. Oh baby, I promise you—if the next book wasn’t already sitting pretty waiting for me to pick it up, I would be livid. Team Messiah *she whispers*
Bleu is giving me anxiety bad, and I love it so much. Literally, anytime she and Messiah have a scene together, I get so excited—but whew, does it make me nervous.
Imma need Ashley to stop taking main characters from other books and placing them in the next series on some side piece ish. Same with YaYa. And I really wanna know… is that Ethics’ baby? Not like that knowledge would do anyone any good now, but still! On to the next… already got the pearls in hand, ready to be clutched.
I gave the book 3 stars because to me it was a build up book, very slow paced. I can tell it is setting us up for something to come. So that is what will keep me invested in the series. I am ready for B4, hopefully it is the end of Butterfly and the beginning of Bloom or another series.
This is the best book of the series. Every chapter is a banger. The best threesome in history has been written by Ashley A. 3 hardheaded boys, 3 friends, 3 brothers, 3 finger salutes. The crew will leave you with Messiah, Isa, Ahmeek sitting on your lips begging for More. Everyone's growing❤ Morgan we hear you " I just want a love that doesn't hurt" go get it little sis. Continue your journey keep living . I'm excited to see if love will survive the excitement of ownership
Ashley Antoinette, whewwwww you wrote the hell outta Butterfly 3! I've been a fan of both you and your husband since last year; a former co-worker told me that I ain't read shit until I got a hold of the Cartel series.... Then after finishing those I kept reading more books by the two of you... I can honestly say he was right!!! Also, I absolutely love the atmosphere within this group because you're readers are given various perspectives to consider while reading ya'll books!!! Again, I would like to thank you and your husband for being urban authors whose works are unapologetic and soul-stirring 😘😘😘... The two of you don't know how you've changed my life and brought joy while battling life greatest battles especially this year's bout with Covid-19, where I spent months in ICU and while dealing with Post-Covid19 effects and countless appointments have been bearable because I'm able to escape to another world through you and your husband's writing projects...
I know the series is called Butterfly, but Morgan is reminding me more of a moth than a butterfly. At this point, she’s following in Raven’s footsteps. The constant indecisiveness and back and forth between Messiah, Meek, & Bash makes me think of Disaya. I understand her circumstances, but make up your mind, girl!! Bash can play in traffic, but he had a point. It seems like Morgan only responds to pain, but in her defense, that’s all she’s ever known. I wish she’d keep Ethic in the loop during all of this. Someone needs to kick Bash’s behind!! Messiah needs to find something productive to do and seek therapy. Meek might’ve had it right, but Morgan has a lot of healing and maturing to do. Let’s go ahead and wrap this up bc I’m over her.
Despite how annoying some characters and their tendencies may be, this is still a solid series. I’ve been putting it off for a while, but I’m glad I picked it up.
Frustration is a perfect word to describe the third book in the Butterfly series. Morgan Atkins (Mo), the main character of the series continues to not know which man she wants. She claims to love two men while engaged to one that she does not. It’s frustrating to read and think about why Morgan can’t seem to at least cut the number of men to the two she loves.
Mo’s behavior is so frustrating it causes the book to stall from her constant back and forth between the men. Midway through the book, I had made up my mind I would not read another book in the series because of my frustration with the main character. The ending of the book however caused me to change my mind. I will patiently wait on Butterfly 4 for the next installment of this saga.
Thank you St. Martin’s Press for a copy of this book for review!
It honestly wasn’t my favorite read be Ashley I can honestly say this book felt like it druuuugggggg on. Don’t get me right it was good but for me the way that she is going with the story line is not what I was hoping, Bout damn time she told that boy it’s his baby. Butterfly 🦋 🦋🦋🦋 needs to be the last series of this book. Morgan needs to decide who she wants an we need to know exactly what Mo told Bash with her dumb ass. I did laugh and cry an cry some more, but the ending was different it’s something about Livi I don’t like who she related to?
I always say the latest book I read is the best, and Butterfly 3 is not different. I'm anxious to read the next installment to say how everything unfolds. I'm proud of Morgan, even though she has definitely made some questionable choices, I can really see she is trying to grow and do right by her family.
