I love Pepper and Axel! This book did not disappoint, though I hope Molly gets her comeuppance in a future book. I would LOVE to see little 3/4 witch 1/4 werewolf babies, well, pups in the future. Like twins, lol.
So I’m gonna get right down to it! I was looking so forward to reading this installment in the series. It felt like for sixteen books I stuck through it to see Axel and Pepper finally say “I Do”, boy did I get so much more than I bargained for. So instead of the straightforward wedding I wanted I got the total opposite! From the very beginning something is amuck, women are coming out of the woodwork to flirt with Axel in front of Pepper. This wasn’t normal low key batting of the eyelashes flirting. This was serious disrespectful in front of the woman you are marrying in 24 hours flirting. As the day goes on the energy and vibe just keeps getting weirder as Pepper keeps meeting guests that will be attending her wedding. This isn’t the tip of the iceberg! Out of nowhere, BOOM! Axel has been cursed! This curse is just about the worst you can get, Axel had zero recollection of Pepper. The strangest thing is the book starts out with Betty almost begging Pepper to take the heart fire. We know the majestic town of Magnolia Cove runs off of the heart fire, without the town will not survive. With all of these strange things going on, and new people invaded our beloved town it really seems like this wedding really won’t happen. I don’t want to give you guys anymore hints but just know that Pepper and company have to work extremely hard this time to set things right. I loved how fast paced and chaotic this installment was. It made what you thought was going to be a relaxing wedding book something so much more!
OMG… What an awful thing to have happen! First, several of Axle’s ex girlfriends showed up for the wedding, and I mean SHOWED UP! They were crawling all over him, kissing him full on the mouth, and dropping their clothes right in front of him. Unfortunately, Pepper had to witness all of these antics while trying to keep her jealousy in line. (That had to be hard.) At the rehearsal dinner, the night before the wedding, Axle drops in writhing pain, only to have NO memory of Pepper after Betty tries to save his life. You’ve just got to read it to find out how Axle and Pepper solving the mystery of who spelled Axle, destroyed the Vault and angered the giants. Why would any of that happen? Were they able to save their relationship? Easy to recommend! 😍
The problem, when Axel's old girlfriends start appearing, is that Axel never told Pepper about any of them. What should she think?
The night before the wedding, Axel becomes violently ill and passes out. When he wakes, he no longer remembers Pepper at all.
Who wants to stop the wedding and why?
A vampire named Blake Calhoun tries to put the moves on Pepper.
When the Vault is trashed and Erasmus is injured but nothing stolen, Pepper, Axel, Betty, Cordelia and Amelia have to figure out what the thief really wants.
This involves the Giants, their Memory Mirror, and a vampire.
This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. A funcast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Pepper Dunn is a witch in a magical town in Alabama. She owns a familiar store where she pairs familiars with which is in wizards. She lives with her grandmother and two cousins also witches. Her fiancé is half wolf half wizard. Pepper is a knack for helping solve mysteries in their little magical town. Sometimes murders sometimes crimes sometimes just outright mysteries. This time there is a mystery that involves magic and someone in her family. Read on and find out what adventure awaits and who is responsible for what happened. Check it out
Oh, my gosh! It's FINALLY time for Pepper's and Axel's wedding, but... Skanky exes are coming out of the woodwork, chaotic distractions are cropping up around towns, Grandma Betty throws Pepper a last-minute curveball on the eve of her wedding, and now, Axel no longer loves Pepper! The wedding is off and the hunt for the villain is on!
These characters are so engaging, and the cameo appearances by the hillbilly giants and Grumpy are a fun touch. Although the guilty and the target are obvious by the halfway point, the misdirections and intrigue are paced well and create a diverting read. I look forward to the coming conflict to save the town!
Characters remain with the same characteristics in each book in the series, but this one, like all the others, have some new unexpected twists...with the conflict intensifying and the antagonist that you expect to be the culprit ruled out one by one. The "culprit" is unexpected, yet so logical. Interesting, heartwarming and worrying . You are left longing for the next in the series. If you have some urgent project or task, do not start reading this book or you might find yourself in serious trouble because putting down this book before you have read the last page is going to be "mighty" hard.
I do love this series and I have waited for Pepper and Axel to be married for awhile, however, I was a little disappointed In this book. Pepper is a little dumb sometimes as Blake had come right out and asked her about how the town sustained its magic upon first meeting her and she never put it together! Also, I wanted Molly to get some payback but we never heard from her again. I will continue to read this series even though this was not the best book of the series, because I have always loved it in the past!
Another excellent book in this wonderful series. I'm so glad Amy Boyles writes southerners with an authenticity that I rarely find in a book. I grew up in rural North Alabama and she gets does a great job creating true southern personalities that aren't over the top with stereotypes. Each book has a unique plot that varies with lots of imagination. She must have an amazing imagination to think up storylines this good. The best thing about this book is that Pepper is finally getting married just with a few twist. This book truly put a smile on my face.
The Vault is broken into. Someone is up to no good.
All this leads into a cross-over series. I think the story is a little weak. I won't say just what was to be stolen but in my opinion something that important should have had much, much heavier security around it and around where it was kept. It's like the story line was constructed just so the crossover series could be written. Not the best book of the series.
3.5 stars- thank god axel and pepper are FINALLY marriedddd. About time! I think really the only thing I didn’t love about this book was all of peppers comments about the other women. They just felt very much like internalized misogyny. But she did have some growth after with Drew at least, and I don’t even like Molly so I think the comments about her were forgivable. I also thought the ending was kind of weirdly fast, but I liked how pepper’s friends with the giants and stuff.

To wed or not to wed? With Axel's memory of Pepper gone, there were many heartbreaking moments in this story. I knew who the bad guy was from the beginning, and also because I recognized the name from another of the author's series, but I found it very interesting to see how the characters investigated things. There was a very feel good ending that still sets up the next series quartet of Lost Southern Magic, and I'll be jumping into it right away.
I M so Happy this was the best ending ever. Thank you so much for awhile I thought it would end with Pepper disappearing from Adel and him going wild, so happy it didn't. Those two of all people deserve a break with happy ending. It. would be even better if Pepper's mother suddenly appeared.
I have read the entire series and just loved it. There were times I could not put it down. When not reading I frequently thought about, and could not wait to get back, to the book I was reading. I am looking forward to the continuation of Pepper & Axel's story. Obviously I like Amy Boyles writing and imagionatio.
Interesting and entertaining. Cozy mystery with out language or descriptive violence. Sex alluded to but not detailed. Some minor typos.
Pepper is approaching her wedding day but obstacles interfere causing a postponement. If course she overcomes with the help of family, some friends and almost\sort of a few giants.
As per her usual, Amy Boyles, has created another wonderful book
The series is a wonderful read that builds off of the previous book smoothly. I love the way she makes each mystery unique and sucks her readers in with each turn of the page. I go through all of the emotions each character is dealing as if I am right there with thin. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book!
In this book by Amy Boyles Pepper is finally marrying Axel. They lifted the magic so his werewolf family could join. Then someone spelled Axel to forget Pepper and were angering the giants. The vault was also broken into. They had to decide on if all the events are connected while trying to fix his memory. I loved this book and couldn't putvit down.
Amy Boyle’s has out down herself with this book. I held my breath thru half of the book. I was crying or laughing when I wasn’t holding my breath. Axel and Pepper are so great together. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Thanks for all of your hard work Amy!
Pepper and Axel finally get married! The characters are well developed and likeable and the plot and subplots move quickly. This is a fun read and I can't wait for more adventures.
Finally Pepper and Axel are heading down the aisle. but it would’ve a Sweet Tea Witches book if there wasn’t some time of calamity involving Pepper. A new player is introduced that you will love to hate.
I loved this book and if you have been waiting to find out pick up the book and start reading!! I am not giving any spoilers Amy really out did herself with this one!! Loved it! As usual can't wait for the next one.
What a catastrophe...this was a whopper of a wedding story. My heart hurt for Pepper. If there is a guy out there like Axel, I would gladly clone him for all of us. Sounds like things aren't going to be very quiet in the near future for our family of witches.
I think I enjoyed this book more than any of this series. It keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering if Alex would ever get his memory back and what they would do to find out who had spelled him.
Always a fun read. Characters are entertaining and storyline keeps you engaged as a reader. Enjoyable series. Recommend reading series from beginning to appreciate the story.
I love how Amy Boyles writes her characters. One of my favorites in this series is Betty Crapple. Of course Pepper and Axel are also some of my favorites as well. When I read this book I felt as if the characters came alive with the detail and the storyline.
This book as something else. Right from the start it grabbed me and didn't let go till the end. Emotional Rollercoaster ride. Midway through the story line I was emotionally destroyed, then, at the end, I got my happy ending.
I liked this book. I was glad to see Pepper and Axel finally get married, but what they had to go through before the wedding was crazy. Not sure if the vampire Blake ewe will be back, but sure he will be back and causing lots of trouble.
This is a book that was fun to read and I did truly enjoyed reading it. I will not say anything about what I read because I tend to blurt out the twists and turns and spoil it for others. If you want to read a good book or rather series this is a good one to read.
Given how much drama Pepper and her family have dealt with, how could we expect her wedding day to go smoothly. What happens is totally unexpected and riveting at the same time. Not sure how the author does this time after time; she must have a fantastic imagination.
I enjoyed the interplay with the giants, but this particular book in this series seemed forced. 🤔 I thought some of it was trivial. It seemed a bit contrived in order to just delay Pepper's wedding and to set up the next book.
