From the reviews This is one of those hidden gems that only when the moons align, and you see a odd title and decided to try it you fall in love. Thanks for a great series, especially those who are curious about vampires and all they represent. - Michelle Tennant Nicholson
I was born dead, but I didn't let that stop me and scored a second life, thanks to the sorcery magic of modern medicine.
As a pre-teen I died a couple more times, but like our family cat, I refused death's invitation to shuffle off my mortal coil and continued on the bizarre journey that humans call 'life'.
When I was a young adult I fell in love with tales and storytellers and decided that would be my path, long and winding though it was.
I left my homeland and made a new one, time and again, much like the protagonists of so many bardic yarns.
I now live in the jungles of Costa Rica and send my tales along the invisible webs of the wide world to be heard, read and enjoyed by others.
Won't you sit down for a moment and hear a tale of adventure and wonder?

Book 2 in this series & what a freaking ride! This is not a genre that I typically read, but there is something about Penta Ka Wa that is compelling. New characters, new adventures, a bit of romance with a great sex scene, horribly gruesome fighting, and the start of a new adventure for Penta. I can't wait for Book 3!
This series continues to be a delight. As Penwa continues to evolve in mastery of his vampiric and wizardly talents, he also struggles to maintain his original humanity. He wants only to live a peaceful life with his studies. He is forced onto battle by the reigning master vampire of the area.
Book 2 really dissects the intricacies of Pentas's existence, allowing him to learn along with the reader. Jones also begins to weave a larger tapestry by introducing us to a growing cast of characters of various interesting races.
This was an interesting continuation of the series. Though I have to say I was expecting Penta Ka Wa to simply settle down somewhere else after the fiasco that occurred the last time. The introduction of the church and them asking him to come to their aid was quite interesting. Especially considering that Penta seems to be the most down to earth vampire around. He has a down to earth and let live kind of attitude. Not wanting to cause others harm. Though it seems those he becomes close to seem to end up dead. Which is quite sad.
