This is a very entertaining collection of short works on a theme that dominates so much of art, but rarely is acknowledged with such directness or honesty. The stories and poems are not all erotic or serious, which ultimately keeps the reader engaged: you're turning the pages curious to see what 'angle' the next author is going to take. Standouts include Alex Carrigan's "How I Lost My Virginity in a Lobster Trap," a humorous account of a wildly memorable experience that has layers, sass, and pathos--the often neurotic preoccupations of youthful sexuality are given full flight. I'm still jumping around through the anthology based on which titles grab my interest, but I expect that the last few works will be just as good and meaningful as the first ones. Kudos to the publishers for bringing together these diverse and promising talents. I'm glad I picked this one up.

I brought the book as a Christmas present for my friend and I couldn't help but open and read as much as I can before gifting. My favourite genre is non-fictional or based on real-life and I found plenty of real-life stories and mockumentaries. I liked the book a lot for the collection of stories that are usually not represented united in one anthology. At some point I laughed, at another felt sadness and compassion for the characters, some were quite educational, some poetic! Wide range of pure delight. Thank you!
