1906: Surviving San Francisco's Great Earthquake & Fire

Rate this book
This informative 1906 Surviving San Francisco's Great Earthquake & Fire is a gem. How the people of San Francisco pulled themselves & their city back together after the earthquake & fire. Here is City Hall disintegrating in a hail of masonry; the Valencia Street Hotel sinking up to its top floor in the sail of a suddenly vanishing street; four square miles of city becoming a blazing inferno.

Interesting read. I enjoyed the local perspective and real stories of the inhabitants caught up in the disaster.
