The potential match this time is between Aiden Harcross, a 40-year-old photographer who works for Smoulder Magazine, taking high-end fashion photos, and 24-year-old Johnna Tentingham, a smart, driven, and well-liked manager for the local farmer’s market.
Aiden was feeling disgruntled photographing the spoiled, stick-thin models who selfishly think only of themselves and demand to be the center of attention at all times. When he is given an assignment to photograph a “real” person for their annual “Do Good” edition for the community, he is ready for the change.
In Johnna’s job as manager of the farmer's market, she is outgoing and friendly, and it’s obvious her customers really like her. She was thrilled to be photographed by a famous photographer, but then let self-doubts convince her he would never look twice at a curvy girl like she was.
When Johnna comes in for the studio photos to be taken, Aiden asks her what her favorite item is that they sell. Then he snaps pictures of the smile that starts and the wistful look on her face as she recalls a soap that she loves! She was so easy to photograph – she was so real! Then the whiny voice of Madison St. Cloud throws a nasty insult about his having to photograph a land whale! He had been so caught up in working with Johnna that he ran overtime, and Madison was his next appointment. Before he could catch up to Johnna, she had run out of the studio.
She is completely different from the models he sees every day and she captures his interest. Can he convince her that she is exactly what he wants in his life?
This is a short but good story about how others perceive us and how we can sometimes be harder on ourselves than we should be. Grab your copy and enjoy Aiden and Johnna’s chance for happiness.
