Mail Order Bride And Her Children's Hope
Sometimes a woman has no choice but to start life afresh as a mail order bride, along with her children…When Emily’s husband dies unexpectedly leaving her with two young children, the only thing she’s left with is the mercantile store that she has no means to run. Emily decides to leave everything behind and start over in the west as a mail order bride.
Her new husband, Levi, has children too, which makes Emily think that he will understand her and that things will go smoothly. But she couldn’t have been more wrong.
Levi has been doing everything alone for several years since his wife died. He never wanted to marry again but he knows his children need a mother and he has been struggling with the burden of being a single parent.
When Emily and Levi finally met, they realize they cannot see eye to eye on anything when it comes to the children, and it almost seems that everything and everyone is working to keep them apart. The newly merged family has become a disaster in waiting… especially in the harsher conditions of the west.
How will Emily and Levi learn to work together and save both of their families?

What a cute story.
3-3.5 stars (rounded down to 3) ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Summary: Emily has been left widowed after a terrible accident took her husband’s life. Trying to care for her two children is a struggle especially in a town that doesn’t approve of women running a business. Perhaps the only way to provide for her children is to answer a advertisement as mail order bride. Levi has been been caring for with his three children the past four years alone. He never really got over the death of his wife and feels he can’t ever be in another relationship again. However He places an ad for a mail order bride, knowing that his children are in need of the love and care that only a mother can provide. Both Levi and Emily have very different ideas on just about everything regarding the children and can’t seem to agree on anything. Did they both make a mistake in this marriage of convenience?
My Review: This book reminded me so much of that movie, Yours Mine and Ours. There were definitely things I LOVED but there were also things that I really didn’t love... First I’ll share the things that I had problems with:
I got really annoyed with Emily constantly leaving wherever there was any type of confrontation. Honestly, who would leave their children alone with a man that she just got married to hours ago? Then to wander about the forest not knowing the dangers that were out there in the middle of nowhere? I get she had a bad relationship with her first husband, but one minute she would be standing up for herself and then the next, just takes off. They were constantly disagreeing about everything and at times the arguments between Levi and Emily felt so childish. Levi was such a jerk during so much of the book.
Moving on to what I liked:
This was such an easy story to get lost in. I loved the town that the story was set in. Kaitlin and her husband were possibly my favourite characters. They were so welcoming and warm-hearted. Laura, Emily’s daughter was absolutely adorable and you couldn’t help but love her. Fiona, Levi’s sister was such a unique character. The writing was great, I could easily picture the town and Levi’s ranch.
Would recommend if your looking for a fast, light hearted, historical read.

After Emily’s Husband had died in an accident, the townsfolk seemed to take issue with a woman running the Mercantile by herself. They didn’t bother hiding the fact that if they had any other option that they would start taking their business elsewhere. Not having any other offers, she accepted a proposal from a rancher who had answered her ad in a mail order bride catalogue. He had 3 children of his own and needed someone to help raise them after the death of his own wife several years earlier.
Neither Emily nor Levi truly wished to marry again, but they both needed help raising their children and this seemed like the only option available to either of them. However they also had to deal with 5 children who weren’t happy about the joining of their families as well as the fact that none of them were truly open to the changes that would need to take place in order for them all to truly become one family. Add in a mother-in-law who was very vocally opposed to the union and things appeared doomed from the start.
Can they possibly find a way to accept not only each other, but each other’s children and find a way to bring everyone together into one family instead of two sides constantly fighting and sabotaging any attempts to make the marriage work?
I enjoyed reading this book. Ms. Linnington did a wonderful job of showing how difficult it can be to unite two families when no one seems willing to listen to what anyone but they themselves want to believe. This story was well thought out and well written. It showed a true understanding of how being unwilling to trust or assuming the worst in someone before giving them a chance can bring about additional problems that may not have really been there originally.
I think this was one of her best books yet and am very much looking forward to seeing where her next one will take us. Recommended.

Not a Mushy Romance
I found myself conflicted on the characters of Emily and Levi because their dialogue would make me mad. But overall this is a good book that didn't make them fall in love instantly but rather made them to through some life struggles and realize that they needed each other. It's also a quick read that makes me wonder what the children 's lives will be like as they grow up.

Great story......
I've enjoyed reading this story of adventure and romance. The widow in the story found that the people in her town did not believe that a single woman should own and operate a business on her own. The thing that she could thin to do was to move west and start over.

This was a realistic look back on how life could of been as a mail ordered bride. I'm this story, two families come together after the death of the perspective spouses deaths. Levi and Emily try to blend their families together through a marriage through the mail. Through many heart aches and trials, they learn how to be a blended family. Very well written and highly recommended

Family and struggles with extended family
Trying to make a life for you and your children aft÷r a loss of spouse sometimes causes you to make a hard decision to meld your family with another. So many hardships and struggles get in the way sometimes but you have to really want it to work. This is a great story to show those struggles. Hard to put this down

Emily has it rough after her husband dies so she exchanged letters with a fellow widow and single father. Between the two of them they now have five children. Three boys and two girls. They don’t have a great start since the children are not happy about the changes to their family dynamics. They have a number of bumps before they find a good stride.

Trials and tribulations
I just finished the story of the mail order bride and. her children's hope. It was a very good book to read..the trials of Emily and her children to settling in are so real that it pulls at your heart strings and you can almost feel the pain, but through this all perseverance and Faith leads

Blending a family
Enjoyable reading. When two people try to learn to listen instead of argue. Conflicts in dealing with the other's children. A lot of compromise and learning to accept each other both as husband and wife and children learning to live peacefully with each other.

What a darling book. It is full of action, leaving you wondering if or when whatever is happening will be resolved. I think all the issues were resolved except her relationship with his mother. It is a definite Goodread.

Disappointed in the ending
A tear jerker of a story. I cried through 90% of the story. It was a good story I just think the ending leaves so much open. It’s kinda happy. But after the cry fest, some good feels were necessary.

Usually I have so many reasons to like a book in the case of Mail Order Bride… Her children’s hope, I have so many reasons why I don’t like it. To begin with his daughter was a little troublemaker and yet he believed her over this woman and her children who he could plainly see knows how to act unlike your daughter. I didn’t find the head any chemistry whatsoever and yet they kept going back-and-forth they got along they argued he loves me he loves me not on and on and on. I couldn’t even finish the book I was just so over it.

New Author for me
Enjoyed the story. Merging families is and always has been difficult. The Author did an amazing job with this story. Very much a Christian story.
