As a brand new doggy mom of a mini-Aussiedoodle puppy, I'd hoped this book would be a helpful guide and resource material. While the author covers most of the main topics, the writing is not very illuminating, and she seems to believe that dogs live only in suburban neighborhoods with yards.
I live in the most urban of places--New York City--in a large dog-friendly apartment building. My necessary routines for dog care were largely ignored, so many of her tips weren't helpful to me. I can't fault her for the audience she chose to write for, but she left out a lot.
Still, the photos are enough to melt a cold heart. More importantly, my almost 9-week-old puppy is thriving!
Without reading for hours on end, I picked up the basics and information that will be helpful with my new puppy. The book was easy to read and I will reference with it in the future.
