Shawn Taylor has always been the one his siblings looked up to for guidance and protection. While he didn’t always have the right answers, he still tried to be the one they could lean on. However, going through a nasty divorce, gaining sole custody of his children, and finding out his ex-wife was a drug addict, sank him low. With all his accomplishments, the ones he was most proud of was being a father and a husband. After years of loving the one woman that seemed to make everything right for him, he finally gets his chance to make her totally his. But with the family drama surrounding them, he wonders if it will last.
Sonya Thompson, the video vixen her family loved to hate, has matured and learned how to deal with her mental illness of bipolar disorder. Having a son late in life with Shawn, helped her to calm down significantly. The one thing she longs for is him. The family drama surrounding them being together had kept her from committing to him for years, but their time has finally come. Willing to put her needs first, she embarks on a journey with Shawn that makes her past relationships look mediocre. Things are great until drama rears its ugly head, threatening to unleash the beast in her that has lied dormant.
Trying to focus on their needs, Sonya and Shawn successfully block out family drama for a while until an event brings them together… all under one roof. Will things get too heated for Sonya to withstand? Will she and Shawn make it through the fire unsinged?
Starting with poetry, writing has always been a constant in Monica's life. The interest began in her teenage years, being in love for the first time. Her love for writing has only progressed. Song lyrics and poetry led to short stories, then one day in her down time, a short story became a 56k word novel. It has been non-stop since then. Being a wife and mother, has only added to the joys of Monica's life. Attaining a BS in Sociology, helping her better understand people and their behaviors, has only helped her become a better writer, understanding characters and their complex personalities. Romance of all types has been her passion, and she plans to continue honing her skills in that genre.
The story took on so many facets and directions I was never ever prepared for the next steps. I realized Sonya and Shawn would likely end up together whether I wanted them to or not. First love is a powerful aphrodisiac, and in this case, that was the force between this couple. I felt bad for Serita, but she added dirt on her own coffin when she cheated too. The story was drama-filled and an experience. A good read.
I’m proud of Sonya. despite her rocky past, she started choosing herself and protecting her peace. It was good to catch up on the family. Sidney and Serita were some bitter women. Serita just proves how we allow our egos to control us. She threw Shawn away and to the arms of his first love. Although strange how it happened, everyone deserves a loving patient man like Shawn. Devin finally put Sidney in her place. I would love a novella to hear those conversations though. Good job!!!!
Whew..Shawn and Sonya were burning up the pages! So, happy to see them well and thriving. Them damn Jameson sisters boy! I could just throat punch Serita and Sydney's a$$es! Glad the finally put their beef to the side, to become a "real" family. Another great one! 👍👍
Although I do not like either of the main characters (I don't believe in smashing a family member of an ex and having children where now they are cousins/siblings) this was a great story. Love the love there just not the situation. Other than my personal bias, it a good read!
Loved the Sweet Series and The Book of Noah so I was geeked to see them back! This story unpacked alot of deep rooted issues within the family! It was amazing! Great job sis!
Monica makes you fall in love with the characters in this series. You have to love the way Shawn loves on Sonya and she loves him back. He is so patient with her when signs of her mental illness show up. Bringing in the characters from previous books was the icing on the cake. Another 5 Star read.
First, I want to say thank you, Mrs. Walters, for this book. I had been anticipating this novel for so long. I just felt like it needed to be a novel to tie all loose ends and everyone together. Of course, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am glad to see Shawn and Sonya get their happily ever after. The kids have totally bonded with Sonya over the years to the point they call her "Mama." She has been there for them through the critical and pivot points of their childhood.
Serita and Sidney both were a total mess and just plain disrespectful and rude. It took Devin and Shawn to put them in their place. Devin pretty much had to give Sidney an ultimatum or their marriage was over. You would think after all her and Devin went through during the years she would have respected him more. She would have made sure their son respected him as his father and the head of the household. Shawn had to finally put his foot down and sale his house that Serita was living in. He was still taking care of her and her child while she was acting a whole fool towards her other kids and sister. I'm glad he did. I really didn't think from reading the first book in the sweet series that Serita would turn out as she did. I thought as much as she went through during her childhood that as an adult she would have made better decisions and being a much better mother. The Jameson sisters as a whole went through so much in each of their childhood, they did great to become the women that did with exemplary careers and becoming mothers.
WJ and Shannon finally remarried and had a child of their own. Although, WJ's first child is grown now they still extended their family. It seems to be a family trait for women of this family to have kids at later ages. It is good and fitting with the times. With, Corey having a Mila, Shawn having Tristan, and WJ having Amyrie now they have a whole new generation of kids to raise. The legacy will definitely continue.
Overall, it was a great read. I'm glad to have this book on an update of their lives. It really did tie up thoughts of wonder about the family. I am really happy the Jameson sisters got their sisterhood together and in check. They had to overcome their issues and shortcomings because they would have never known anything about the other if Shawn initially did not "find" Serita family in the first novel. The Jameson and Taylors have finally become one big strong loving unit. The kids are already falling for each other it seems it's just going to continue.
Well, it looks like Shawn and Sonya has finally gotten married, but the gap in time had me confused because I thought for sure that Gary was going to be the one!!!… I was so disappointed in the outcome of the friendship with Noah and Sonya though because she stayed true to the friendship and for him to turn his back on her hurt my feelings!!!… Serita need to truly be in counseling because she should definitely humble herself and thank So ya for the gems she implanted in her children despite the demons she battled!!!… Sonya was definitely my friend in my head because despite her demons, she stayed loyal to ppl that did not deserve her loyalty!!!… Kyla has matured so much and I love the relationship she has with Sonya!!!… Everyone loved them some Sonya because they knew she was going to show up despite her head space or her emotions!!!… I was so happy Devin finally set Sidney straight because her WHOLE character irritated my soul!!!…
My oh my this book took me on a journey because I had to read the sweet series, Noah and Jah’s stories to be able to understand the book as instructed by the Author. Let me just say reading these previous stories gave me a new respect for Ms Walters so now all her books are automatic clicks. I really love Sonya and Shawn together and I am that finally after so many years they are married for real and family drama is over. Beautiful story, you will totally enjoy it but you will have a better understanding if you do what the author says about reading previous books prior to reading this one.
Well I don’t want give any spoilers but I love love love how this novella brought Shawn and Sonya full circle and the love they had from jumped definitely stood the test of time they finally got it right. I literally read this entire series over a seven day period and I would do it again. I fell in love with Shawn and Devin and their journey from the beginning and if you love a strong and misunderstood female character Sonya will take you there and back from her introduction to the end. I loved this series!
It was good catching up with the Jameson and Taylor clan. Cant get enough of Shawn and Sonya's steamy sex romps. Those two are like rabbits and dont care whose around to hear them. Serita and Sidney finally got put on their place and not only was it long overdue but well deserved. I'm happy that Sonya was able to build a bond back with all her sisters. This book was full of love, friendships and family bonds that have seen its share of ups and downs but through it all they will always have each others back. Very well written and I enjoyed this read.
Finally, the Jameson’s & Taylor’s (young & old, male & female, lithium or lollipops 🤷🏾♀️🤭) got some act right😮💨🤦🏾♀️‼️ Hopefully it will last for a few generations 🤭🤷🏾♀️⁉️ Thereafter, “Never Enough: A Novella (The Sweet Series - Book 9) will always be an entertaining read anytime Sonja & Shawn Taylor are involved. However, at six decades strong, I don’t think I’m quite old enough to participate in their daily doubles sexual rendezvous’ without parental guidance 🔥🤣😂🫣🤭‼️
Now I'm not sure that I agree with Shawn and Sonya being together I actually felt like they both deserved to be with someone . As for Sherita my heart went out to her in more ways than one who wants to see her ex husband and kids loving on her sister like that. I do wish Serita would have found happiness though .I'm glad that Devin finally put his foot down with Sidney though .
This story was my exhale and I enjoyed it to the fullest. Truthfully I was left feeling some type of way after the series, including Noah's series, and this book was everything I needed to lift that heaviness; I was all in y'all. Won't spoil anything by saying that everything worked out the way that it should have. OMG that situation that caused Shawn and Corey to do that prayer, and the outcome, was priceless; as was the book's ending also.
Kudos to the writer Monica Walters for giving us the update on the Taylor & Jameson families. I knew Shawn & Sonya would ultimately get back together again. Sorry, not sorry, Gary! Anywho, Sherita only hurt her kids with her shenanigans. And Sidney got her azz handed to her when Devin finally stood up to her.
I 💘 the writer's style & storylines. But, most of all, I enjoy her relatable characters as well.
Monica’s books always make me want a smoke afterwards lol. Always have hot scenes in them and Shawn and Sonya were smoking hot! I was happy to see the culmination of their story after reading Noahs story and all. Glad the family was able to resolve some of their dysfunction. I truly enjoyed this read.
After reading all 8 books from the Sweet series this book made my heart smile from all of the stuggles between Sonya and Shawn. I love these characters and I gotta admit I will miss them. Monica you brought these characters to life and I'm so elated that I could live through this love story through the hella ups and downs......
What can you say about about Shawn and Sonya but DAMN! These two made the series so good. I enjoyed Sonya because she didn't care what no one thought about her and would be quick to put people in their place. Amazing series but I do wish Sonya could have popped Sidney in her mouth just once.
Shawn and Sonya dealt with a lot of drama from Serita and Sidney. Serita brought the majority of the problems on herself by not being there for her kids in the past and Sonya having to take the slack. Devin did right to finally put his foot down with Sidney or she would have continued to be a bitch. I love reading about this family. Job well done.
The best of the series! Some people other than the offspring finally grew up. It’s been a struggle keeping up with the names of the offspring and the antics of the parents. This novella was perfect in storyline as well as length. The fork can be stuck! It’s done, well done!
I love that everything has been aired so that the family could finally come together and grow. Sonya's character is my favorite and when she is happier, I smile. This is a pleasure to end the series. The characters are brought to life on the author's pages. I cannot wait to read the second generation of Taylor/Jameson. "Can't Run From Love"
Alright now! Shawn had his happy ever after finally. I am glad to catch up with the families. Everyone has matured! Glad the girls out their differences aside. So elated that Devin set Sidney straight. Don't get me started with Shawn on Serita!!!! Serita messed up herself big time! I am such a fan of Monica!!!
Finally!!! Shawn and Sonya got it right!!! Their love withstood years of separation, marriage, loss of family and friends only to realize they loved each other from the depths of their souls. It was good to see the Serita and Sidney finally work out their issues with Sonya to become closer than before.
This book was a little confusing to me apparently there are other books before this. From what I read in this book it's kind of Jerry Springer kind of stuff not really my cup of tea.
Sonya and Shawn finally together no matter how the family feels or think. In the end they are happy. My father told me everybody is invited to the wedding but nobody is invited to the marriage. Love forever.
When you think it's safe to get involved with this family again something pops off. Never a dull moment. There is a lot of love and as Monica channels her inner SONYA. Girl you know you nasty but I love it. Until next time.
It melted my heart to know Sonya and Shawn finally ended up together. I was so invested in their relationship…. And their sex is always OFF DA CHAIN!!! Well done Monica!!!🙌🏾🙌🏾
