One in Five is the second installment of the Selena Bailey series and follows Selena during her first few months at college. While healing from the past few years, her only focus is on school until her roommate comes home after being attacked at a frat party. With the police providing no assistance, Selena takes matters into her own hands.

The books in this series are very short but that doesn’t take away from the story. One to Five is only 124 pages but it’s full of action, investigating, and healing. The author handles the sensitive subject matter sensitivity and enforces the importance of a support system. Similar to the first book, I was hooked from the first page. Selena’s character development from the first book to the end of this one, is impressive. Although I wasn’t a huge fan of her impulsiveness, I chalked it up to her being young and wanting to seek justice.

One In Five is the second book in the Selena Bailey Novella series.

This is an intriguing thriller involving Selena in a series of attacks on college women at the Delta Kappa Alpha house. The characters are well developed and intelligent. The storyline is well written and captured my interest from the first page to the last.

I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

I read the first one in this series night before last. They are Novelas and didn't take long to read. I really enjoyed both books and am looking forward to the 3rd one which will be out soon. I thought it was very good with a good message. Well written, kept me riveted to it until I finished it. Good thing it wasn't a longer book.

This is a great super short story on raising awareness for sexual assault. This book would be especially important to high school and college girls who have never been assaulted. It would give them warning signs and helpful information, as well as safety if it should happen to them or someone they know.

And as someone who has been assaulted, I think the views of the girl assaulted in this book are completely accurate, and I really appreciated the story.

I listened to this on audio.

I give One In Five 5 out of 5 batons.

I very much enjoyed this story. I have known women attacked on campus and unfortunately, without evidence, it can be horrific for the victim. Yet I also know of false claims so this is not an easy solution. This book is such an intriguing read, it was difficult to put down.

Fact through fiction

Good story raising awareness of sexual assault through this fiction. It is sad that we still have to emphasize that no means no.

I like that Selena is learning practical skills from her intelligent and compassionate step-mother. Good family relationships in this story.

Lot of potential

Not quite the standards of the Martina Monroe standards but the potential is definitely there. The learning curve, so to speak. Will most assuredly will continue to follow.

Selena is adjusting to college life when her roommate is assaulted. The campus detective doesn’t seem to care so Selena starts her own investigation. Quick story.

All teenagers should read this.

I think the free age girls would benefit reading what can happen when they least expect it. It certainly boosted my eyes.
I'm sure their parents would agree. Read this book and maybe it will help someone.

Eh

Eh was the best description I could come up with. It started off great but towards the middle, the story felt rushed & not like the normal material this author puts out.

meh

I was surprised at this one. It felt like it abruptly ended. And the end felt like it should have been the middle of the story.

A young lady, Selena, is starting her first semester of college hoping to move on from her painful history. Her roommate is attacked at the local fraternity house. When the roommate reports the assault, the police refuse to press charges due to insufficient evidence; it becomes yet another case of “he said, she said.” Selena realizes that her roommate’s assault likely isn’t an isolated case. As she and Dee meet other victims, a disturbing pattern emerges, indicating a predator may be targeting multiple women tied to the same social circle. Determined to get justice where the system failed, Selena resolves to take matters into her own hands and bring the perpetrator(s) to light even if it puts her own safety at risk.
