I will put you down myself. The Torture Princess has fulfilled her duty, and the fourteen demon contractors have been laid low. Yet, when the time comes for Elisabeth to burn-forsaken by heaven, earth, and all of humanity-the fifteenth demon contractor, Kaito Sena, host of the Kaiser, appears and declares himself the enemy of mankind. In light of this, Elisabeth receives a new lease on life as the heartrending task of hunting him down is forced upon her. Now on the run, Kaito and Hina find themselves in the company of beastfolk who wish to "receive the enemy of mankind as an honored guest." They are not without their own share of problems, however. Someone has been slaughtering their kin in the most gruesome ways imaginable. If Kaito's instincts are correct, these killings could be the work only of demons. But the demons have been dealt with...Haven't they?
We follow Kaito after his "seperation" from Elisabeth. His journey takes him into new lands (of the noble beastfolk), where his help is needed on solving some cases where villages have been grusomely murdered.
We get to see a new character.. A new Torture Princes? How that works, we find out in the story. Kaito, despite having seperated away from Elisabeth, also get to interact with her (and his powers really have increased a lot from the previous entries).
Last but not least, we learn more about our friendly neighborhood Butcher.
Another masterpiece from the author. New characters were introduced and a lot of plot twists unfold in this volume, challenging the details we have overlooked from the very beginning. Though it felt like this entire series was oriented around killing of the 14 demons. The newly unraveled twists have proved otherwise. The killing of the 14 demons was merely the beginning of the end. On a side note, it was great to see Hina and Kaito's romantic relationship receiving a new development.
Bit of a slower paced book than the first 3 books but its filled with information about the world and is still a great read for anyone who likes the series.
Finally!! A light novel protagonist who isn't scared to go all the way! I'm proud of the MC here, and the story has been consistently good. I'm excited to see where things go from here.
