Love at first sight Is cliche but that was the only way that Santino “Tino” Dixon could describe his feelings for the beautiful Kimora Carter. At only sixteen years old, Kimora was wise beyond her years but the four year age gap was an issue that her older sister, Kimiko, could not ignore. Being the patient man that he is, Tino decided that Kimora was worth the wait. He kept his word to her sister but he stayed close to the young beauty who captured his heart. There was only one thing standing in the way of him having his heart’s desire - Venus, his girlfriend of two years. Venus loved Tino almost more than she loved herself. All she wanted was her happy ending but outside forces seemed to always derail her plans. Her best friend, Zoe, lived the life that she desperately wanted for herself and she was willing to do whatever necessary to get it. When lies are told and truths are revealed, it’s hard to decipher a friend from a foe. Find out what happens when enemies are disguised as loved ones and nothing or no one is who or what they appear to be.
Chenell Parker is really in a league of her own when it comes to her writing and she will forever be an instant download for me! No matter what I read from her, I know I’m in for a treat and “I Can’t Let Go” was no different! This book GAAAVVVEEEEEE!!!! Now if you’ve read anything by Chenell then you know she gives a FULL story so I’m not even about to give a long drawn out review about these folks!
Tino and Kimora were a whole vibe and I LOVED their crazy asseś! Kimora definitely reminded me of my younger self because baby I would pack up a whole house threatening to leave knowing my aśs wasn’t going nowhere 🤣🤣🤣
This story was packed with drama, scandal, deceit and everything in between! If Chenell Parker is not on your roster of TBRs are you even living life?! Get into her entire catalog!!!
Honey, this book had so much going on right up until the very end 😂 there were a lot of twists, turns, lies, and deceit. The flow of the story could have been a little better for me and it needed more editing but the storyline itself kept me reading to find out what happened next.
Mannn Chenell Parker has done it again!!! I just started reading her books this year and I am never disappointed. She keeps me interested and ready for war all in one. This one was no different. The characters in this book was really intriguing from the uncle's to the cousins, everyone had a small story to tell. I really liked that aspect, there was no confusion with the many characters. The storyline was definitely crazy. Miko and Dirty really are definitely one of my favorites because of the way he treated her and how they were there for each other. Kimora and Tino's relationship were definitely a whirlwind, they went thru alot but came out on top in the end. The love they shared was crazy but they needed the time apart because I don't believe it would have ended like it did. The loyalty of the real niggas in this was unmatched but those others were just crazy. This was a long story but I was disappointed at all!!!
Well definitely not what I expected and was disappointed!!!
Whenever a book by MS. Parker is dropped, I leave everything and all that I am doing/reading and grab it, but was I surprised and soooo disappointed this time. Young love to somewhat or should be young love should be straight cut, black and white and just a straight shooter, yet this one somewhat was introduced with a twist that litterarily did not do any favors to it. Kimora, young, smart, intelligent, down to earth, a small independent temper, but beautiful and loyal, yet extremely immature, naive and plain childish. Santino "Tino" also young, smart, intelligent, very quick temper, loyal, somewhat obsessed and also childish yet assertive and confident. (Definite vibes of bae).... What started out to be beautiful, a love story only in fairytale and for the stars, turned out to be a childish, gullible, naive fairytale and just down right boring. At first sign of trouble, Kimora jets out of here, leaving everything and Tino behind to fend for himself while Tino who supposedly is soooo in love and just "can't let go" did not, not even once go after her. For a kingpin kill himself, alpha, a technology guru, ruthless gangster, part of a Dominican cartel, he could not have sent someone to go after his love anddddddd......keep her there with him? What kind of crockabull is that? I mean at least we would have had a story where Kimora would have been pissed, enraged and scared, while Tino would have been fine with all that as long you do it under the roof that I am in. Mother you would have had those enemies coming out of everywhere, and show how Tino will go the the end of the earth to protect his love, meow that's a story to read about... But we didn't get any of this. We got a boring story where Kimora goes a way, gets down and grab the wrong one while Tino goes back to the dirty drawers he once had... Pathetic, and truly not worth my time had I known this was that kind of party. So yeah, am extremely disappointed and annoyed that I thought I was going to get a banger before this year ends... Whelp back to the drawing board and see if I could pick up an old or new author to give me a last WHOA.... Am super pissed!!!
I say the same thing every time I read one your books! You always know how to put the perfect amount of everything into one book! The drama, sex, suspense, the climax, and then the end is always perfect! It never feels rushed! Every character fit perfectly and every character has closure! I love it!!
I love this book from start to finish! Santino was an awesome dude, he waited for Kimora and she waited for him! Their relationship had some peaks and value but they survived with growth , love, respect and maturity! I love Kimoko & Dirty they rode for each other as Dirty didn't waiver when Kimoko was locked up! I felt sad for Prince, but I was glad that he found love in Autumn who happened to be Kimora first cousin! Prince and Kimora were best friends nd the were epitome of the word friend! Santino had cousins that were is envious of him, his mother family had money and he was Val only child, though her husband had kids from his first marriage.Santino couldn't Let GO!
Chenell Parker really had me captivated with this book before it even got to the first chapter. The growth of each character throughout the book was phenomenal. I was quite sceptical of Tino’s true intentions toward Kimora initially, but he actually proved himself as a man of his word. The drama in this book started from the beginning and lasted until the end. I also loved the way that that the family members stuck together, although there was a lot of jealousy and animosity toward Tino from the younger males. Great book!
Let me start off by saying this book was bomb! I always love when the books are set in Louisiana. Once I found out how much family was involved in this story, I knew it was going to have some foolishness going on. The writing was great as usual and the story flowed easily. I can admit that I did not like Kimora and Santino at first, they did too much. But over time time, I liked their growth. Dirty and Miko were my fav couple in the whole book. The book definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. Great read!
This book was so good chenell did a good job. Tino was Bae and Dirty was a good dude as well. Kimora was a little erky but she was my girl, I liked Miko as well. Venus was crazy but I did feel bad for her, never try to keep a man that don't want to be KEPTED!!!!!! PERIOD POO!!!!!!That damn prince was something else 😂 Ronald and Ramon was some haters. Chenell never disappoint she's one of my favorite Authors 🥰
I loved it! I laughed so hard at this couple because they were crazy in the beginning. I almost threw my iPad at 30%. The plot twist was perfect and I didn’t see it coming. I love all the couples in this story.
This wasn't bad at all. It's like a 4/4.5. Only because it dragged a bit. I like a story that has a steady pace and despite all the drama, it still felt like there were unnecessary parts that I skimmed through. 🫠
Venus was the star of the show for me because she's a real character. I like that it wasn't the typical FMC that falls happily in love with MMC with her storyline. I felt bad for Venus with her unrequited love story but the lengths she went to were crazy😩 lol
Other than that it was your HEA vibe with Tino and Kimora that just didn't really do it for me. They didn't have any real obstacles and challenges. I thought they were going to be a super toxic couple😅 but somehow they matured and found a love that could stand the test of time...boohoo lol (I wanted all the toxicity🤣)
It's a great read. I do recommend it. It was well-written, I loved the balance of dialogue and description. Chenell created some interesting characters that kept the plot going. I liked the 🌶️🌶️scenes and the plot twists too! Well done 👍🏾
This standalone was good from beginning to end. Held my attention and I couldn't put it down. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters. Kimora and Tino, was love at first sight, but with a age difference was their issue. But he wanted til she was of age and captured her heart. Venus loved Tino more than herself and it wasn't meant to be. Throughout this standalone it was full of lies, secrets, jealous, deceit and betrayal, that made it a interesting and entertaining. So loved the way everything turned out, cause as Tino said, I can't let go. Great job Chanell Parker.
Chenell Parker has done it again. I've Read 100% of your Books And like always I enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down. Venus I kind of felt sorry for her at the end. But it was to late on her part. Tino and Kimora I love them together. I was mad at kemora for leaving Tino after he got shot. But I'm glad they found their way back to reach other. 5 Stars is well Deserved..
LORD I LOVED THIS BOOK..... From beginning to end.... The Love That Santino had for Kimora since he met her...WOW... Where can one find him... The snakes Venus, not even sure what family would allow suc a trash bag of a woman, to latch on to men in the same family.. Loved Dirtyy & Miko, and his commitment to her when she went to prison. I was cracking up when Tino met Tina at the airport, and his mumbled words to Kimora.. The supporting casts relationships were great... As ususal Ms. Parker writes excellent stories that have great progression and thought out storylines....
The way Santino loved Kimora was just everything. I cant believe he use to cry like that😂😂😂. He was too grown for all that. Dirty and Miya my favorite couple. He loved Miya unconditionally and held his Wife down. Zoe was too much of a sweetheart to have a trifling best friend like Venus. I would have snapped like Amari did. It's always your family that you never see coming.
Tino been in love with Kimora since she was 16. Their relationship was good and bad. I love how they loved on each other but didn't like how Kimora just up and left Tino when the got hurt. She should have just told him how she was feelings. All in all the got back together and are more in love now. Very good book.
Excellent, Excellent read, first let me start by saying this is the best book Chenell has written since My Little Secret . I loved everything about this story, Komora and Satino relationship was meant to be, I loved the closeness if their family. Venus really made me want to chock her at times( smh).
This story was outstanding, the author really painted a great picture of the characters, I feel this was her best book .
5 stars because I couldn't put it down I loved how Tino loved Kimora but hated that he drug Venus along for the ride until Kimora became of age. This book is about loyalty, betrayal that you assume comes from one character but its a totally different character but most importantly this book is about how love conquers all and you can't fight true love
I read a lot of books, so I can be very critical at times. This a great and thorough read. I loved the characters, the plots, and the wrap up. Although, Venus was a desperate evil bitch, I felt sorry for her because Tino, did her dirty, for that he was wrong. Chenell Parker, has a new fan ❤
I loved Tino!! He is bae all day long. There relationship was real because even after the years apart they still loved each other! Hassan and his dad were punks! Venus was stupid and dumb! Excellent job ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book is definitely a page turner. Tina and Mora definitely kept me on my toes but I was so sad thinking they were not going to make it. That dang Venus was a mess
This was an enjoyable read. I love how the men were faithful of course my favorite was Kimora & Santino of course the other main characters. I agree with other readers Venus got what she definitely had coming to bad Kimora couldn't do it. I really didn't like how everyone turned on Amari Zoe was a hypocrite in my book just because Venus was her bf didn't mean she get a pass and she still was on trash because she didn't even tell Zoe she tried to have Kimora killed 2'x. I would love to see what becomes of Amari and Franco. I think Amari and Kimora should of been friends instead of Zoe in the end it's like the family turned on her because she killed a hoe who was going through the Lopez men(Unc's ) words. Aside from Franco being a hoe I really had hoped he'd get it together and be faithful like the other men in the family or that Amari would move on and Divorce him.
Awwe I'm so happy Santino and Kimora got their happily ever after! They deserved it after all of the bs they dealt with for years! I'm sorry but Venus Ronald and Ramon got what they deserved. Jealously is a deadly thing and you can end up just that DEAD. First book by this author and all i can say is. MORE PLEASE! About to go read the catalog!
This was my first time trying this author and i loved it. This book was the bomb. it held my attention the entire time. I read it all in one setting. Awesome job!!
This story had so much dips and turns that it gave me a headache. Dirty and Miko were my favorite couple however once Tino and Kimora got their act together I was their cheerleader. As Anthony Hamilton said “I can’t let go”. Venus, Hassan or Helen (I like that name for him better), Ronald and Ramon all got what they deserved. Good riddance to them.
Thank you for giving us a stand-alone novel. I appreciate your hard work to make that happen!
