Well this book is not bad,but it's not really a yoga instruction. It does have a chapter on that, but it's on the main part of the book. This book mainly focuses on the different styles of hatha yoga: Ivengar yoga, Power yoga etc. and tries to give a brief summary of what they are.
To be honest right now I noticed that new "styles" of yoga are comming up almost daily a few of the ones I've noticed: Yami yoga (the yoga of darkness) Universal Yoga etc.
True this book might be useful, and it deserves credit, because I don't think there's another book that writes about the different hatha yoga styles. And it did deliver some basic information. The reason I gave it only 3 stars is that it's titled "yoga for men" and pretty much all the information (except like 3 chapters, which also are far less - men-aimed, than one would expect) is not tailored for men, which would be a good thing, but I think that the person who buys this book, might be inclined to think that it focuses only on practices that are male-specific.
Anyone can do yoga for men that’s not exclusive enough. This is yoga for men only. If I try to do it my fragile woman body will immediately collapse. 5/5 stars for MENONLY. It’s a must-read for men who want to increase their sex power or use yoga to beat people up because that is both a chapter in this book and definitely a real thing you can do with yoga. I obviously didn’t read this book, but I gave it to my husband and/or father who read it and immediately stopped aging.
This out-of-print book is a bit quirky. Written in 1969 it has some good isometric techniques, but the wording from the period can make you laugh. However, try the postures. You will probably have to go to a used book stores. Amazon may have a copy or two.. used.
