After her husband confesses to a racy but ultimately unfulfilling affair, Sophie Gibson's rage leaves her raw, unable to process his attempt to repair the damage by suggesting she have her own tryst.
Soon, though, the idea of sex as retaliation begins to intrigue her—a no-strings-attached, sexually subversive liaison may be just what she needs before she can forgive Andrew. Hooking up with Peter, a dark and dangerous artist willing to push the limits of Sophie's lustful, quivering need, fits the bill perfectly.
Sophie's covetousness for Peter was always about experiencing intensity in the moment, but soon the affair runs its course and now it's time for her to focus on her future…with Andrew. Except, Peter is convinced he can't live without her. Then come the cards, the presents, the calls…the hint of a threat. One way or another he will have Sophie. Even if that means exacting revenge of his own.
Pues bien, boqueando me he quedado! jajaja....
XD
This book was sizzling HOT!! It was very sexy and sensual without going over board!! It wasn't all about hot sex - there was a story line which made this book more of an enjoyable read.
After her husband gave her permission to have an affair to make up for him having an affair, Sophie became so fascinated and overwhelmed with her sexual experience with her lover (mainly because he introduced her to sexual feelings that she never experienced before) that she ignored critical signs that demonstrated her lover was a very mentally unstabled person. She was so caught up in feeling good sexually that she made excuses for his behavior and jeopardized her well being in the long run. Can't blame her completely because how many times have we knew a person was wrong for us but we ignored the signs because the sex was the bomb!!
What I've learned from this book is don't have an affair with a nut case - have one with a sane person!! Just kidding!! Don't let anyone talk you into doing something that's not in your character to do. Sophie couldn't see herself having an affair inspite of her husband having one but her friend encouraged her and even put doubts in her mind about her husband to fuel the thought and besides, her husband gave her permission so why not right??? Wrong!! That was a weak and immature rationale!!
What a huge disappointment. I listened to about 30% of this book before I deleted it from my audible app. Books which address infidelity and the emotional turmoil brought on by infidelity pull me and intrigue me. This book was not a good exploration of that highly charged and emotional issue. The main character moved on past her hurt way too fast and in an unbelievable way. To top it off, the narration was bad. Granted, I didn't finish this book but I can't recommend it -- if you still want to listen do not get sucked in by the cheap audible price. The audio version is not worth the $4.95 I paid for it.
Okay. Though I don't like to read about cheating, this book did pique my interest.
However, It just felt so weird that in the end it was like she only had two options. Either choose the cheating husband or the crazy stalker.
(Kinda wanna critique her reasons for going along with the cheating on her part, but because I knew that was gonna happen, it feels kinda silly.)
They didn't really work out the issue with why and why he shouldn't have an affair again. The whole issue just seemed to disappear because somebody worse came in to the picture.. Of course the husband is gonna look like a saint compared to that. Oh and also, she felt that because her husband hadn't really hit on her best friend that one time he really wasn't as bad as she thought! Like, "yes! So he didn't try to sleep with my bestie, phew he's better than I thought". Really??!
That should not be bonus points! (Kinda respect that he did tell her about the affair though...kinda..)
But the fact that she felt as strongly as she did for Peter before his real self was revealed should have told her something... Everything just felt so glossed over.
Nah, I think somebody should have should have told her about option #3 - Get a divorce and start over with no cheat and no crazy person.
Well, to each their own.

Sophie begins and obsessive relationship with the handsome Piotr after finding out about her husband's own affair, which has landed him in legal trouble.
Perrin knows how to start a good story. She just seems to have some problems actually seeing her stories through to the end.
Also, I had a hard time caring about Sophie. She came off as brat-ish, and her brat-ish behavior followed to the end. I did sympathize with her, cheer her on, and felt her pain, but she was brat.
When I was finally at that point where I thought I could really like her, her shallow behavior ruined that. There seemed to be no real character growth for her.
She seemed to think that love was gauged by who bought her the better tennis bracelet. Okay book. I'll continue to read Perrin's works because she can create an intriguing storyline. She just needs to work on her weak endings.
In the Kissimmee area, teacher Sophie Gibson had thought her marriage was perfect. Thus she is stunned when her spouse Andrew rejects sex with her and soon he confesses he had an affair while she was away with her best friend Marnie. Sophie throws Andrew out and she goes through the phases of grief. First she is in denial; then in shock; and finally she considers having an affair though she has no candidates and besides a lover seems seedy and unsatisfactory.
She begins to reconsider taking on a lover when Sophie meets brooding filmmaker Pietro alias Peter at the Blue's Club. Peter is blatant as to his attraction for Sophie and persuades her to share his bed. The sex is the best of her life not that she has had many mates to boast about. Peter fulfills her wildest fantasies. However, he is also demanding of her time and frighteningly morose and temperamental. Scared he might hurt her as she rejects some of his demands, Sophie ends their relationship, but Peter refuses to accept her finale insistence it is over between them.
This is a terrific contemporary erotic character study starring a wonderful lead character struggling with betrayal and 'Obsession'. The storyline is driven by Sophie whose anger leads to her seeking solace elsewhere even though readers will not agree with her actions. Although the climax seems over the top with too easy of a resolution, fans will enjoy Sophie's groove taking her deeper into trouble.
I would love to read Peter's POV, because he seems to be the perfect partner, but he turn over into this psyco.... I just want to try to understand his messing head...
Meh. Talk about lust at first sight. The first half of the book wasn't really intriguing. Lots of sex going on. The part where Andrew announced that he cheated on her made it interesting I guess, but that was still a douchebag move. Served him right when Sophie had an affair with Peter as payback for what he did ha ha ha. But it totally took a wrong turn for Sophie. I was more interested when Peter's obsession towards her started to kick in. That was when it started to get really creepy, knowing that he was stalking her and had the heart to kill someone (or a pet of hers...) so he could completely have her to himself. It was crazy how infatuated he was with her. I was glad that Sophie didn't stay with Peter and was well aware when their relationship started to get dangerous. Lots of girls make the wrong decision which may lead them to getting hurt. And it was nice that Sophie made the right decision at the end. I can't say i'm glad that she's still with Andrew but he seems like a good guy and was genuinely sorry for what happened.

First of all, who is Thomas? I read the description and then I read the book, there was no Thomas! It was Peter who became obsessed and she was married to Andrew. So umm wtf?
Second of all, I loved the book. It was very hot and somewhat sexually frustrating. I couldn't believe how much I got into it and enjoyed the characters. The sex scenes blew my fricken mind and the ending, well crap I kind of expected it but I didn't in a lot of ways as well. It was aptly titled.
This book did not start getting good until page 200. Seriously. It took too long to get to the point and it was definitely not a page turner. The whole book was describing every single sex scene and the main character really starts to get on your nerves. If you feel like you REALLY have to read it, get it from the library.
¿¿¿Y PEACHES???? Maldito loco! Malo es decir poco. Siguienteeeee!
What the actual f did I read!!!!! I kid you not, this book blew my mind. I actually didn't expect it be that intense but the last 150 pages gave me the chills. This was the perfect psychological thriller story with an obsessive villain. I'm rating it 4 stars not because of the characters because absolutely hated all of their guts. (Not Marnie though) I also didn't like Sophie ending up with that cheat asshole, but hey! Atleast he's not a crazy obsessive psycho! Also I do think they're better off with each other. I actually liked Peter at first, he seemed tempting and the perfect morally grey character but boy last 50 pages. I loved it when Sophie shot him, I also loved her for doing it twice because they don't die the first time. I think every teenage should read this just to be cautious, because you bet I will be for the rest of my living years. Not like I didn't fear men already. 😂
Will suggest if you liked the movie The Crush, Poison Ivy, Fatal Attraction, Fear and etc that I still haven't watched. Also trigger warning definitely, because even though I always say these never effects but I'm still shaking while writing this lol.
This is it, lucky number 1000! I wanna talk about this forever but this is a book review and not my news feed.
This was advertised as a thriller, so I was a bit surprised to see it categorized as a romance after I got it. I'm a little angry about that.
It has a little bit of everything, an unrealistic ending, a creepy/psych killer lover who is charming at first but horrible afterwards, and some heavy double standards with a little betrayal.
It did take a lot of time to get to the point, but it wasn't tedious or hard to go through. Some parts in the last 100 pages seemed like they were repeating the same dialogue over and over like a broken record, and the climax felt so cheesy. I was halfway into the book and thought "Yup, one of them has to die" and I'm terrible at guessing the end of a book.
overall, I didn't hate this but it's not the memorable book I wanted for my 1000th book.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book was crazy in the best way. Kayla Perrin had me yelling at the pages like “Sophie, PLEASE stand up!” 😭
The obsession? The sex? The psychological games? INSANE. The man was clearly unhinged and she still kept going back—weak in the knees FR. But that’s what made it so good. You knew it was toxic, but you couldn’t stop reading.
The twist at the end? I did not see that coming. At all. If you like steamy, messy, “girl what are you doing” type reads with a dark twist, this one’s for you.

i can't say i hated this book but i disliked it. what i liked: that scene where peter had sex with sophie outside the restaurant without a condom, the plot twist was interesting. honestly though i really disliked the plot. she should have left both of them instead of getting back together with andrew.
I don't normally write reviews but this book deserves one. I enjoyed a lot of the book which is why I gave it three stars. However, most of it was totally unbelievable, and the ending was out and out ridiculous.
I have a total book hangover right now! I get these often I admit but now I can't concentrate! I do NOT agree with cheating nor do I condone it but that blurb just drew me in right away. Everyone who's anyone knows how much I love my stalking books(I'm sorry Mother!) so this book was a shiny red beacon for me.
Our heroine comes back from a trip to find out her husband has been having an affair..least he admitted it right? He then goes on to allow her to have one herself and she meets Pierto AKA Peter.
Now, Peter is your typical hot italian stallion. Only he's bat shit crazy.. And a cat murderer. And abusive. Oh! And totally smokin' in bed.
I feel that our heroine Sophie only stayed with Peter as she saw him as something 'fresh' and kept comparing him to her husband. The ending blew me away, I'm not going to spoil it..you need to see for yourself how amazing this book is.
I often think of my own endings for books if they're well, crap. Kayla did it right, I couldn't think of anything better!
Who needs roller coasters when you've got stories like this?? Once things get hot and heavy you'll stay on the edge of your seat. The main character, Sophie, is kinda frustrating to deal with sometimes because she doesn't act her age (she's naive), but more often than not you'll at least see her perspective. Her lover, Peter, is a complete nut case and watching their affair pan out is basically a ride on the Millennium Force without the motion sickness. She goes back and forth and she's ALWAYS confused but in the end all is well. It doesn't end pretty but everyone is safe and happy. The one you feel most sorry for is Sohpie's friend Marnie. After Peter comes in the picture the poor woman is pushed away every time she tries to be a good friend. Anyway, if you're a hot young thing looking for a steamy romance with the plot of a thriller, this book is for you!
woow!
This was an interesting tale. The husband consents to an affair so his wife can even the score so to speak. She ends up finding this incredible sexual connection with a man most women dream about. Unfortunately the incredible connection morphs into a sick obsession on his part that eventually turns violent.
The story was realistic and scary. What I didn't care for was that the MC didn't call the police the first time she was assaulted. Then it happens again and she still doesn't call the police. All in all I enjoyed the book and it kept me on the edge of my seat.
