Stephen Grant – former Navy SEAL, onetime CIA operative and current pastor – looks forward to a time of prayer and reflection during a retreat at a monastery in Europe. But when he stumbles upon an infamous CIA traitor in a small village, Grant’s plans change dramatically. While a debate rages over government secrets and the intelligence community, a deadly race for survival is underway.
From a pro-democracy demonstration in Hong Kong to the CIA’s headquarters in Langley to a monastery in France, the action and intrigue never let up.
Ray Keating said, “I’m excited about this novel. It’s jam-packed with action, and serves up fascinating places, unique characters, and some interesting discussions. I hope readers enjoy it!”
Yet another hop, skip, and jump into the exciting life of Pastor Stephen Grant, former CIA agent, now Lutheran pastor who happens to be in all the right places at all the right times!
This was an enjoyable read. A bit shorter than most in the series. I might call it a novella, just because it didn't get into as many of the other characters as some do. Still, timely. Gives you something to think about. How would you want folks to react to such a situation?
Two violent scenes or so, but, as always, balanced by some sort of element that it's a pleasure to think about. Do you know what I mean? Like how one book was in part about Comic Con, another baseball? This one is sort of Snowden vs. a European pastoral retreat at a chocolate-making monastery! So it'll be sure to have you googling "chocolate" and "monastery" in no time. :)
Pastor Grant Series, book 12. A quick but good read by Keating. Lutheran pastor in a Monk robe? That's Pastor Grant's attire at a monastery in the French Alps. Keating addresses the tough topic of traitor versus patriot when sensitive info is released that puts people's lives in danger. Paige and her company go to work and somehow Grant happens to get involved to live up to the nickname of "Warrior Monk". Find some good chocolate to munch on while reading this book.
Once again, Pastor Stephen Grant finds himself in an unplanned, but necessary situation to right the wrong, while depending on God’s grace and forgiveness.
